    I know how important it is to have likes, and to have people watch the ads and watch the entire video. I make a few thousand a year on my youtube channel which isn't as much as I'd like and its nothing compared to you, however its still passive income I wouldn't otherwise have, so I am thankful for that. I always let your videos run all morning on my laptop, it helps get me in a good mood for the day and reminds me to spend my money better that day. Since watching you, I have learned so much and I have paid off a credit card just from advice I've gotten from you. So you can always count on my views, likes, and comments because I appreciate what you do and its changing my life, so the least I can do is support your channel!

      I think you miss his point. Nobody will hire you to work for that much money unless you become a ceo of a multi billion dollar company. Working a traditional job for money is ancient history. The industrial age is ending quickly, the information age is just getting into it's stride. Those who continue to trade time for money, no matter how much or how little will always be the poor class. Those who learn to harness the power of money and information will be the rich. The middle class will be those who work but also learn to invest a little resulting in wealth but not to the same extent as the rich.

      I'm curious how youtube is classed in terms of income. For example earned income (income from working) is taxed the most heavily. Passive income, like that generated by rent, is taxed very little if at all. Once the video is made it can continue to generate revenue for years and years, this is a type of passive income of sorts so I wonder how much it is really taxed.

    • @PGIFilms
      @PGIFilms 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @Brian P Little background first: been preparing taxes professionally (going on 14 years now) for a major well-known company and have 2 Associate degrees, one in accounting and one in business administration... There are a few ways income from TH-cam could be classified depending on the type of arrangements a TH-camr has set up with how they choose to promote their channel. The vast majority of US-based TH-camrs are classed as Sole-Proprietors (rather than as a Partnership or S-Corp, though I'm sure some might by setup as such) and would be filing a Schedule-C with their personal 1040 tax form for self-employment with a business classification code of 711510 (Independent Artists, Writers, and Performers). The basic payouts (for views and ad revenue on posted, monetized videos) that TH-cam sends to content creators would be provided on a 1099-MISC as Box 7: Non-Employee Compensation, though starting in 2020 this will appear in Box 3: Other Income (since Box 7 is changed to just a checkbox for sales-based businesses (direct-sellers or contract sales-people for another company's products). If a content creator has licensed use of their video(s) to another company they would receive a 1099-Misc with a Box 2: Royalties amount (normally royalties are considered passive income that would be put on a Schedule-E and subject to passive activity limitations on losses, but there are instances, that I wont go into here, in which they can be put on a Schedule-C and active TH-camrs continuing to make content would qualify).

      _____ government “funded” education systems are how brainwashing can occur. They determine what is and isn’t taught. The free market can easily provide alternatives to the schooling system as they currently do now.

    • @Malakai9
      @Malakai9 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      _____ Well, does the educational system seem to be working very well in your opinion? Especially the current educational system people are taught to be weak and offended by everything. Whereas in real life you should be strong and realize that sometimes others ideas will offend you but that in order to have freedom of speech you have to be able to risk being offensive so it’s a necessity. Also, why doesn’t school teach financial literacy? Sure you can go to college and maybe learn about finances to a good extent but why would that not be taught throughout our lives in high school? Because perhaps we are taught to be employees who rely on our government and our low paying jobs just to get by in life. Slave to the system, working every day for one more paycheck instead of being taught how to make our money work for us.

    • @FirePilot2020
      @FirePilot2020 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @_____ Go read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and then get back to us on how the school system is working out. Also, maybe go look at poverty rate, and the total amount of money currently loaned to young Americans for college. We're living in the "long term effect" of our antiquated educational system that is simply designed to drive taxes up to grow government, and make people more reliant on government assistance, which again makes taxes go up, and so on and so forth. And yes, JoshL is right - you're held at gunpoint to pay your taxes. If you don't pay your taxes, the IRS will levee fees, if you don't pay the fees, they will seize your property, file charges for tax evasion, revoke your passport and then men with guns will come into your house and imprison you. So yes, we are literally held at gunpoint to pay taxes.

      Make sure it's a high-interest savings account not the nonsense 0.1% APR ones that traditional banks have. You want to be matching or beating inflation, which currently is about 2% (assuming you're in the US). I use Wealthfront which currently has a 2.57% APR cash account and is still FDIC insured.

      You're freaking lucky man don't screw this up. All you need to do is listen and think about every big move you make for a few weeks before pulling the trigger. I wish I had Graham as a mentor when I was in high school. I know you haven't uploaded anything in a year but I'll subscribe just to see if you upload anything in the future about your progress. You could easily make $50k a month just on the life of a "Gen Z high school self made millionaire". Get a studio light, tripod, and lavaliere microphone for your iPhone and upload a video. I would change your channel name first to something more financial oriented. Good Luck!
