I had a near new XE Fairmont 4'9 V8 auto with XD Ghia rims.....in cream. Built in 1982. By 1990, it was full of rust and ordered off the road. Had to have it junked......with 65,000 km on the clock.
talk about memories, my old man had a red one with beige trim when i was growing up spewing XD was the last of the V8 while sum boffin at for said aussies don't want V8s. Watching the 500hp skyline and ceffy builds now :D
That will be worth a bit now ,good idea buying a cheap 6 auto and converting it ,mock ESP or ESP inspired cars will be in demand in years to come I reckon like 60- 70s muscle,if it was me I'd keep it manual for value and driving satisfaction but obviously it is a personal preference

That's a bueat. My dad back around 2000 he would buy these for 2 cases of beer and pull the motor and box and if he needed he would take parts for his personal one then would send a fully working xd, xe, xf, and other models without a box and engine to the scrapy for dirt cheap. But once he got a practically brand new one and kept it in storage cause it only had like 45000 kms on it and sold it recently for I think it was like 60k-70k cause it was an all matching original car it just cost him $500
God it must feel wierd jumping out of this into the ceffy. Love the tough muscle sound and look of this but love the raw rb scream and easiness of sideways of the ceffy!!! Great problem to have if in the mood to go fast, what's the go with rego in this? looks fun

exhaust i bought already made, its pretty crappy just a 2 1/2" inch press bent mild steel twin exhaust dumped at the diff
