GreAt video I have lci e90 same issue dealer quoted me 500 for new module and 250 for programming- so 800 total , I did spend 200 for diagnostic. Thanks again
Thank you for this video. I was able to reset a used RDC that I installed on my 2011 MINI thanks to this. That BimmerGeeks app seems pretty great. Thanks for showing how simple it was.
I still need to learn to use the BMW Tools to update firmwares, but for a simple factory coding of the module, this method was perfect.
I just want to thank you for this video. I used to work at a BMW dealership in Grand Rapids, MI and since leaving I've been on my own (no more discounts) in maintaining my 2011 328xi. When it started I researched online but everything and everyone had different suggestions of what could be wrong and then I found your video. Obviously, living in Michigan I drive through snow frequently (not doing donuts lol) and I noticed my tire pressure light was the most prominent when it was happening. Sure enough, just like you showed and explained in your video, that was the problem. I had someone remove it and other than the tire pressure light staying on, all was back to normal. I really don't know what I would have done without your video. It wasn't only the information you gave but the way you explained it. Compared to everything else out there, which is overwhelming and confusing, you made sense. I just wanted you to know how much I truly appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Jen
Glad it was helpful for you!
Hi Jennifer, I have the same problem with my car 2011 328i X. I am struggling finding where the tpms is. Can you tell me that info?
The TPS monitor is in the rear passenger side wheel well. Easy to disconnect.
This is a link to what it looks like.
@@jenniferkent4608 appreciate that, I got it now!
Superior to any other online explanation provided. Informative, concise and well presented.
Helpful video !
Do you know if the Bimmercode adapter will get the job done too ?
Appreciate the video as it is exactly the problem I have. After replacing my RDC, the TPM Malfunction warning persisted. Some other video mentioned 'coding', but never got into the detail on what 'coding' is. I thought it was to relearn the individual tire pressure sensor. My local tire shop wasn't able to write/register the sensors to the new RDC. Now I understand why. Besides BimmerGeek ProTools, is there an alternative for Apple devices?
You can download and set up bmw standard tools on a windows laptop or run windows through a virtual machine on a Mac
Also scanners on Amazon
I wish your video or description would tell me your car, homie. But props!
Saw someone else do an e90 and it was driver side front wheel well. So that location differs I see.
Mine’s a 2013 E92 335i. The earlier E9X can have the module in different locations because they used a different transmitter system
Can u put the link on where you bought the little orange square you connected to the bmw please im having the same issue with my 535i and the video is every helpful
That's the MHD Orange WiFi adapter for E-Series BMWs. It's designed to work with the MHD tuning software but also works with a number of other softwares, such as ProTools. I bought mine from Burger Motorsports but if you go on the MHD website you'll see there's a couple different vendors that sell them depending on where you're located. You can also connect to the car using a good quality K+DCAN cable if you don't want to go the wireless route.
What a great video man! I just have to find protool? I have the cable and a tablet used for my MHD, my car same as yours but e90 lci- the dealer quoted me 500 for module , 250 to program it so 800 total- I ended up spending 200 for diagnostics - thanks again great video
Glad it helped! Sounds like your cable and tablet will work fine with ProTool and you should be back up and running in no time. The module can be found cheaper than the $500 they quoted online, just make sure you get the right updated part number
great info and video.
what camera are you using?
All my videos were filmed with a GoPro 9
Hey I’m tryna to code the same thing , but it seems like the menus have been updates since when you’ve uploaded this video wondering if you could help me figure how to do it since I’m new to the protool
Were you able to figure this out?
@@danielstabile2907any luck?
????any luck
Solid video, appreciate ya
I have a 2011 bmw 328i want to get the mhd wifi is there a certain on I should get?
My friend I got Protool too but I can’t find control units where is located now? And what version you got because y can find that now on vehicle menu.
Do you have the full license? You can get the whole CU list under the vehicle section or go through the menus on the main page to get to how PT groups them
Yeah I have the full license but still not looks like yours my friend you protool look like the video still? You can tell me what is your version.
I’m having the same issue. I went to Vehicle -> ECU Data and it shows identified control units but my RDC module doesn’t show up. I probably just need to replace it though. Weirdly enough I can’t click on any of the other identified control modules though so I’m not sure if this is actually the right menu.
How should I know if it’s my module or the antenna that’s gone bad?
Where you able to fully insert the RDC module to the female cable socket? Mine is not fully inserted, but appears to have no more room to push the RDC in. In the Protool Menu, the TPMS RDC appeared but am not sure if it's communicating, because the TPMS light in the cluster was still on. I tried to do TPMS reset, but was just showing "TPMS resetting" for so long with no result.
Did you factory code the module? If ProTools is reading it then it’s probably plugged in
@@lifebycars5849 yes I did. RDC module appears to have had communicated since Protool showed "sucess" and "coding finalized". But again, status on the dash shows "TPM resetting" was taking forever. I drove the car for 15 minutes and light is still on.
Where is this located on 2010 bmw 750li xdrive? F02?? I can't find it!
Where did you get your rdc module bmw dealer ship ?
Ordered mine through ECS
Thanks for the excellent video and brilliant explanations. I have 2007 E92 (328), do you think my own (RDS module) will be at the same location with yours?
It’s likely in a different spot since yours probably has the earlier system
Which version of Protools to do this? Diagnostic or Coding?
This would be coding I believe. You can see the different functionalities on their website
How much for the protool? Did you have to buy additional modules to program it?
There are two different license options they offer that have different functions. You can also buy both for full functionality for a discount
What type of software are you using to code the car and will it code ABS Module e60 m5
It’s called ProTool and is made by Bimmergeeks. Runs on any android based device and should be able to code an E60 ABS module easily. Gonna release some videos soon specifically about it. Keep that V10 running good!
Thanks and keep making great videos. I just changed The rod bearings and the fuel injectors and a whole bunch of the parts I’m trying thanks again
I have bmw 328i 2011 I have the sen problem I change battery, alternator,computer,frm3, an send problem 😢🥺please help bro thx
Would recommend getting a good scanner that can read BMW codes. Should help you narrow down the module that’s causing the errors
Hey I have same problem in my 2014 bmw f30 335i I replaced rdc with used one and can I code it same way ??
Should be able to!
what’s the problem that’s happening to your f30? recently i’ve been getting random malfunctions like sos malfunctions, headlights, airbags etc.. and i feel like it’s happening a lot more in the rain than a regular day
@@vibez1190tpms error malfunction for the tire air pressure system
Hi where would I buy RDC sensor? for my BMW x3? please ? Can we buy them third party?
Don’t think you can go aftermarket for this. Get the part number and shop around for the best price - FCP, ECS, dealer, etc.
Ok I have sort it out it was only wheel sensor and Autel 508 worked perfectly with dedicated sensor
Just use similar hex to other wheels or clone it from broken one unless it’s dead then fabricate ID similar to the good ones
Is protool free or does it have a cost to code?
You’ll need to purchase one of their licenses to access features
Where did you buy the part? I have bmw 335i 2008
ECS had the cheapest price when I got mine
Thanks
Where did you get the part from?
ECS had the best price at the time
HOW TO CODE FRM MODULR
09 bmw 328xi ?
Is there an iOS version of protool
Not at this time
I'm looking to get a Fire 7, but the description in Amazon says the Fire tablets can't run the Play Store. Can you (or anyone here) confirm this?
It can be converted to run the play store. Takes just a couple of minutes
@@lifebycars5849 Oh okay. How is that done?
Look for videos they’ll walk you through step by step
Can I use Carly to program it
I contacted Carly about this and they said no, thats not a function they offer
@@wesmanfredjensenjenson9686 I tried using going that you have but my ODB adapter is not compatible to it
Could I use Bimmerlink to code this?
no
What were the symptoms
Check out my other video on the RDC module I showed a clip
Been having this issue on my 07 328i . have shops try programming my tpms and code still on dash .
Your 07 has an older version of the TPMS system that has more components to test than mine does - check out the description of my first video on my electrical malfunction for some forum links that discuss the details. Are you having electrical problems or just the TPMS error?
BMW wants like 2100 to do this 😳
Yeah they’re wild with this one
Can you use this tool to code in ftm?
Yes you can
