Looks great!!! Also looks like you have it displaying backwards. I think the supports go in back (they are on the 2nd shelf)...maybe you like the steam punk look of the brackets.

I think doing it after was pretty simple! Doing it before you might have to be more careful about screws and moving it around a lot!

how long does the paint last, did you need to do any touch ups or take any precautions?

Hi I did the same thing with my vittsjo coffee table. Mine ended up having a lot a scratches and chipped paint on it within a week of use. How can I repair this. I used 1 can of rustoleum for 1 coat.
Now should I go over with another coat of spray paint or redo this with primer first and then paint.
This looks amazing! I got all the tools and the IKEA shelves for making this. But I just realized I have no where to go spray paint. I live in a small one bedroom apartment with no balcony. Do you have any suggestions on where I could DIY this? Thank you for a great video! :)
dreammiee If you are careful, you ca do this indoors. Use masking tape to run the drop cloth up a wall. Open the windows and use a fan for ventilation. And when you're done painting, leave the apartment for a bit while it dries. The first hour is worst.
Alternatively, find a friend with a driveway.
Go to the park at night and do it. That's what I did.
love these shelves! i have the double. just be careful. i sprayed the coffee table in this series gold and it has since flaked off a lot because i didn't use a primer i think.

Hey! I was wondering how well did the paint stayed on? I'm scared that it would chip too easily.
did it today. it does NOT stay on! same paint, same table, amd after hours and hours of so called quck dry...it falls off. so, if you want a golden table, buy it golden or have it professionally painted. the diy isn't wotrh your time, nor your sanity. .

If you rust-oleum paint-very good and prime surface well and research, this paint will stay on, but do wear a face mask. My sister ues this make all the time. also importanty you need to allow paint to dry thoroughly-ie 24 hours before using. some v good videos on you tube.

Did you do a primer coat? And how many Coates of the gold did it take?
I didn't use a primer! Just 3 cans of spray paint! :) Some might be able to do it with just 2 cans though if you had the white shelf unit instead of the black one! :)

Bonjour, vous avez mis votre vitrine à l'envers, car les 2 petits triangles de renfort avec les 3 visses que l'on voit en bas sous la dernière étagère, devraient se trouver derrière votre vitrine et non pas devant . Sinon c'est très joli.
