Patrcia.. you are right about that. . I don't think any of these girls singers coming up now can sing, IF you have to get on the stage half naked to hold they're attention, your not a good singer and the majority have to dance , Theres nothing wrong with dancing or wearing clothes that show almost everthing to get attention if that's what you like, BUT you shouldn't have to do that on the stage to keep they're attention..Also I don't understand half the words they're singing. They repeat the same line over, and over, They're not telling stories ,like George and the other guys back then.. Just a couple of them do..But most of them are fast songs so they can dance on the stage., Just miss all the old singers when I was young.. Like George said, whose gonna fill they're shoes, including George's. now . SAD ALMOST ALL ARE GONE.

The older I get, the more sentimental this song becomes! And for me, it goes beyond all those wonderful old country legends. I think back to old friends of my parents that I grew up knowing, old family members who have gone on before us. Whose gonna fill their shoes ?!?!? This song makes me think of my dad so much. I don’t think “anyone” can fill any of their shoes! We have our memories to hold on to, and wonderful songs like this, that we can listen to, that still pulls at our heart strings !
I think the very same way. After the older folks in my family have passed on, “Who is going to fill their shoes?” I know the answer to the question, just don’t want to believe it.
He was right! This song is so true! No country singer will ever compare or get this message! They just don't know what real country music is supposed to sound like anymore! This is real country music! Love you George and miss you big time!!!!

Hello Anna....
One of the greatest… amongst many others gone! My first concert was George Jones at 12yrs old! ❤️
There’s no one to fill those shoes. Some things only come once . George Jones was one of a kind. In reality we are all one of a kind. God must think that’s a good thing or it wouldn’t be so.
I miss hearing your voice Mr.Jones coming from my Grandpa’s radio, standing beside him as we drove home down the dirt road. I miss those days and I miss my Grandpa and Mr.Jones.What an era that was! I am 44 years old now and the past 40 years have flown by! It is a strange reality when you realize that you have lived over half your life already. Embrace each day and I’ll be ready for a big family reunion when the time comes.❤️🙏

I agree. Because in this day and age no one's going to fill their shoes.
I'm listening & crying now, Dawn!!
I feel you.
👍
Sadly, those shoes will never be filled. RIP all legends.
If those shoes ever do get filled, it will take a LONG time
I don't think we will ever see anyone like George Jones.
May He RIP
Not in this lifetime
Amen he was a number one country singer
Agree. Singer, songwriter, nutter, performer and all round legend. As one of his biggest fans (my Dad) often said, "George could bring a tear to a glass eye!" The world is that little bit darker without them both!
There will never be any to fill his shoes!

Charlie Pride just passed this weekend. He was one of the greats!! Thank God for his music. It will always be timeless. And, no one will ever be able to fill his shoes!! R.I.P. Charlie. You will be missed!
Loved Charlie
Charlie was one of my mother-in-law s favorite singers ,that Lady had good taste.
I saw Charlie several times when he visited (NZ) and I listen to his (LP) Live at Panther Hall regularly. I love u-tube but there is nothing like a well kept vynyl record to reproduce the best sound.
Charlie died of covic 19 pandemic of the world.
No there'll never be another one like him, his voice will always echo through the years.
There's nothing like great country music
George Jones tears my heart out with that haunting voice
I miss him with all the other gifted singers

This is one hell of a wonderful old song. Makes you think of the old days. Old George Jones is such a classic. What a legend. He's one of the greatest artists from back in the days. Too bad we don't have any like we did back then.

A haunting reality. Today’s country musicians do not even come close. Glad i grew up with, Hank and Lefty; George and Willie; Meryl and Johnny. All the greats are from my generation. How fortunate for me.
To have George Jones, hang out with you, sign your guitar, shake your hand and wave to ya as he heads out, What a true gentleman!

NO ONE Can Fill George Jones Shoe’s🙂🎶♥️
Patrcia.. you are right about that.
After goerge jones was born they broken the mold

Hello, how are you doing today, I hope you’re having a wonderful day?
Hello, good morning hope you had a good night rest?
One of the greatest nostalgia songs ever! As I’m getting older, these are the songs I want to listen to, they remind my of my childhood. When all we had was one 13 inch tv connected to 3 channels by an old rusted antenna, and momma played our Hugh upright radio all day long. Well those things are gone now, lost mom this last March 2022. Live seems so different now, and I find myself less motivated by new things and super excited about the old ones! All you wonderful people who around my age can surely understand my feelings! God bless the world, as we so need it! These younger people will never understand what a awesome world we grew up in!
Amen brother.
God bless you and so sorry for your loss. I am almost eighty one and god knows how I got here,, I think it hit me all at once, Yes god bless the world we really Do need it We did grow up in an awesome world. Still listening to George Jones in November 17th 2024 rest in peace George Jones

There will never be another George Jones. My grandma loved his music.
Hey 👋
How are you doing ❤❤❤
The love of heroes will always exist as long as hearts beat. This song and this man's voice reminds me why it does.
Just because George Strait has the most #1 country hits of all time, does not mean he's King George. George Jones is King George and will always be the King of Country Music.
Don’t need to compare them. Both are real country singers. The real fight is against the shit that’s passed off as country now
Roy Acuff was the first king of country music.
No point in the comments, they were all legends!!@ This song should show you, Merle, Willie, Waylon, and Jonny Cash!!! All have been amazing 👏
George Strait is amazing as well, so let's not forget that and make crazy 😜 ass comments!!! The possum is a legend, but so is George Strait!!!

I agree. No one can fill his shoes. He will always be a part of us his music will live on forever. Thank you
The older I get, the more sentimental this song becomes!
Hello 👋 how are you doing today
WELL SAID.
Yes , I feel the same way
I think the very same way. After the older folks in my family have passed on, “Who is going to fill their shoes?” I know the answer to the question, just don’t want to believe it.
Well said, we all need to write replies and comments when
appropriate.
George Jones has always been a legend! RIP Mr. Jones and God bless.
He was right! This song is so true! No country singer will ever compare or get this message! They just don't know what real country music is supposed to sound like anymore! This is real country music! Love you George and miss you big time!!!!
So Do I
Nobody is going to fill their shoes. It was the Golden Age of Country music. It only happens once.
100 💯 percent correct!!! Merle, Conway, Waylon, George Jones, Charlie Daniels, Don Williams and Jonny Cash are legends and hopefully singing in heaven right now!!!
Except this song isn’t about Country music.
@@jimstenlund6017 It's not?
@@MDOurMD It’s about our “radio heroes” but they weren’t all country.

I don't know if anybody can fill their shoes. Music is really hit an all-time low

Even though I don't have the kind of voice it takes to be on the radio I'm still blessed that God gave me a voice AT ALL! Because even if I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket as they say, the Lord knew that I would love music and to sing and as long as I have a voice that people want to hear or not I'm not gonna stop singing! What a heart rending song, knowing almost all of the legends George names, and George himself, are gone. It will never be like that again, sadly. They were all one in a billion. I hear this and I also think of my dad, gone some 24 years now who loved country music and taught me to love it too, and my uncle, one of his best friends, gone since not long after George Jones left us, for whom the Possum was is greatest hero. RIP to them all.
Rest in paradise Mr. Jones. We miss you sir. 😪

Hero’s get remembered but legends never die
I read that his wife said that the day he died he had not been talking at all for a while and they knew he’s time was almost up. He suddenly opened his eyes and smiled and and said “ Hi, I’ve been waiting for you. I’m George Jones..”. Then he closed his eyes and went to Heaven. I hope I get to meet him when I get there.
