    I think I'd enjoy doing this more than making a single topic gluebook. I also love to collect playing cards, postcards advertising art events, etc.

    This is so inspirational to me! Thanks so much for sharing your talent! I have made so many albums and journals using my Bind it All that I preordered from my yummy stamp and scrapbook store(remember those!) back in 2005. The BIA is not perfect but it is small and simple. The Cinch is great but a bit pricey. They both have a learning curve but don’t get hung up too much on the rules. Again, super inspiring as always!❤❤❤

      Awesome! Thanks so much for your comments about the Bind it All versus Cinch.. You are right. Good advice about not getting caught up on the rules. So glad you're having fin with it! 👍🏻💚🙂

    I have a Zutter and it works well for my small projects. I haven't had much luck using it to make larger books, because I've found it difficult to get the "continuous" punching right, and finally just gave up trying. LOL. I would suggest buying a smaller size ring if you want less give in the size of book you made. I love seeing your collages and the mix of old and new papers.

    • @MargareteMiller
      @MargareteMiller  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like it too, for small projects. You're right, it can be hard to get the alignment correct for punching the pages. That's another reason why pages of random sizes work so well 😉

  • @lindafriend9392

    Gorgeous! I’m not really one for leaving room for actual journalling, I like to fill up the pages and only remember when almost every page is covered. I’m trying to cut down on my overuse of pockets and tags - these days my journals are more Rolodex than crocodile😱 This is quite disciplined whilst leaving plenty of scope for embellishment. Thanks for sharing your ideas it’s been very inspiring😁

    • @MargareteMiller
      @MargareteMiller  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I, too, don't like to overfill. It's a challenge in itself, just to get the book filled to the right proportions 😉

    This eclectic idea is all ME! I love that you took "stuff" we all have and made pages from them and then collaged onto the pages. Your books are always so inspiring.
    Since you mentioned the jiggle, I'm thinking you should be able to add more holes, by moving the larger papers either way in the machine.
    Although, I think with the smaller books, the smaller binding is adorable.

    • @MargareteMiller
      @MargareteMiller  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, for small projects I like the Zutter just fine. The books come out so cute! 🙂

  • @inger870
    @inger870 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Margarete, Thank you for your always inspiring videos! :) Have you tried adding more than 6 wire rings to make the books more steady? I guess only 6 to the hight you’re having on your books perhaps is what makes the unsteadiness😊

    • @MargareteMiller
      @MargareteMiller  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      6 holes is all the Zutter can punch at one time. I could line them up and add more holes. but I'm afraid I wouldn't get the spacing right and it would look weird. I need to try it though, and see what happens. 😉

    • @inger870
      @inger870 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MargareteMiller Your zutter has an built-in-way to punch more holes perfectly. I’ve sent you a DM on Instagram with an explanation and some photos😊 I’m craftymys there.

  • @puffyjo
    @puffyjo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    its Zutter is newer than that , only about 13 , 14 years old . the blue one was the 1st one to comes out then they came out with the 2.0 version which is pink. I love my bind it all . I have the 2.0 version . the wires are what makes the book smaller or bigger , ( 7/8" 1/2' 1 " ect ), It has nothing to do with the machine it self . The cinch is HUGE , takes up way too much space and makes bigger round holes . like I said its the wires not the machine . all wires fit BOTH machines . to make it tighter you need to add more holes so the wire supports the book covers better . again it has nothing to do with the machine . the loosy goosie is due to the lack of wire. there are tons of videos on YT to show you some tricks .

    I like when you do flip throughs of your collage books. I wanted to ask you if the green stamps in your collage are original or copies. It has been so long since I’ve seen green stamps. I can remember collecting them and then going to the green stamp store to trade them for items. Do you remember the gold bond stamps? Do you have any originals of those stamps? 😊

    • @MargareteMiller
      @MargareteMiller  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those green stamps are original! I have a little bag full of them that I found at a thrift store. You can find them online and they're not expensive. They hold absolutely no value except for sentimental 😉. I have a few of the gold ones, but not nearly as many as the greens. Those were a lot more popular, I think. 💖

    What size book or journal do you tend to choose? These two journals appease to be similar in size and not to large. I intimidate myself starting out of the chute because I tend to go to large and lose verve along the way, which of course equates to an unfinished journal. Every time!

    • @MargareteMiller
      @MargareteMiller  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robyn, I typically go for about 4" x 6", which is about the size of a postcard. Sometimes I go up to 5" x 7", too.

      @@MargareteMiller for me I will carry on using the zutter , I am just using what I have. It’s ok for something like this , small projects, although I have made larger travel journals. The chinch was not out at the time. I believe the Chinch is better as you can nominate which holes you want cut where.& I think the shape of the holes may be different. I like the zutter holes for decoration also. I am glad I have found your channel, sharing your work and ideas. Thank you 😊

    What is the purpose of a gluebook?

    • @MargareteMiller
      @MargareteMiller  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Vicky, the purpose is to glue things -- whatever you want -- in them. Find papers that are pretty or interesting and paste them in a book or blank journal. It then becomes a gluebook. "But why?", you ask? Because it's fun to do. I don't think you need more of a reason than that. 🙂

      Yes, I. don't usually write in them. They are gluebooks more than journals. You can make them any size you want, though, and you could always choose paper that has lines on it, for writing.
