Greetings from California 👋🏻😁I am old fashioned I love ❤️ mailing out handwritten letters even my bills envelopes I send out all decorated 😊let’s keep that tradition alive❤
What strikes me about your collaging, Margarete, is your attention to detail. Each piece - large or small - is done with loving care. You certainly don't just slap down some papers. NO~~you consider color, shape, size - so many elements. Marvelous stuff!!!
I really enjoyed this video. I LOVE mail, always have. When I was a child I used to walk our city block with the mail delivery person. Since that time (the '60's) I have developed a love for everything vintage and certainly all vintage mail, stamps and papers. Your journals are so lovely. You have such a great talent for collage! Also, I really like the method you showed for making our own vintage looking envelopes. Thank you! ❤
I love vintage envelopes. The dates sent, postmarks and sometimes there is even a time stamp when the mail was processed. Makes me imagine the post office at this time and the people working there…. They probably never imagined these envelopes to become art❤
This was a great video but will need to watch again when I'm not so sleepy! I've seen envs in your journals before but didn't pay much attention to how they were used. I never thought of looking for them at a stamp or coin shop, just flea markets. I think they'd be great to use in my paper crafting workshop for seniors this summer. Thank you!
Thank you for the inspiration. Your work is beautiful. I also liked the post it note storage idea (not sure which video) I was thrilled to see you using an envelope of my Aunts that I had sent you. I shared video with my sister and she was surprised to see it, see didn’t know I had sent you one and just couldn’t figure how it landed in California . lol😂
First of all “your hair looks amazing” - it showcases your beautiful face. This was such an inspiring videos - I once again feel my creative juices flowing. From Greensboro, NC
Such great information!! I could just sit and look through all of your journals over and over again. I'm a collector not a writer so I have collected from others, even you. They are such an inspiration to enjoy. As always hugs and thanks for always inspiring me!! * L
Super interesting video. I loved every aspect of it. It just goes to show that there is so much to learn about and the topics are never ending when you enjoy crafting. Thank you.😊❤
OMG! What a great idea. You have given us a tremendous arty idea. And you’ve got lovely stamps with the handwritings. Thx so much for this idea. Greetz from Hollland
Great ideas. Thanks for the idea of looking at/joining a coin & stamp club. I’ve never thought of that. I’ve been able to buy just envelopes fronts inexpensively on ebay and Etsy, and have enjoyed using those. You’ve given me a couple new ways to use them today though. Thanks so much.
Oh boy. Loved seeing all you journals, envelopes and wonderful collage. Lucky you to get all that great mail. Such great images too! If you remember, can you tell me where you found the lovely antique furniture illustrations?
Thank you so much. Great ideas. I have a huge collection of stamps which are classified by nations in binders. I also have commemorative stamps on envelopes and the corresponding gold one. The are addressed to my late brother. Thank you again.
What lovely ideas! (Of course I have envelopes!) And is the full page dandelion going to seed @ about 14 min a stamp? I'd love to get one. Thanks for sharing! Hugs! Peggy
It’s called a Zutter Bind-it-all. It’s not my favorite. I bought it at a garage sale. Check out the Cinch which is also a binding tool. That one might be good. 👍🏼
I love to use envelopes in my journals. But I never use old envelops and pictures that are not mine. My journals have pictures from me and my family and I dont want to confuse them. In 100 years they dont know whats family and whats fake. Trying to find connections with the adresses on the envelops and the family 😅 My granddaughter already asked me one time or this is me when I was young and she saw a Tim Holtz picture. But I surelike the old style.
If you label things, specifically the photos of you and your family, that helps. If you have an entire book of just family things, even writing a sentence or two at the beginning would help clear up confusion by any potential viewer. 👍🏻
I'm so glad you saw it and commented here. You sent it to me along with one of the swaps, I believe. ❤️ I love it and don't have the heart to tear it up. I keep it as inspiration 😉❣️👏🏼 Thank you again!
@@MargareteMiller lol I found out my sister sent it to you in a swap. Was so cool to see it. I know I have a few and can’t tear them up either. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!

Thank you, Linda❣️ I do consider lots of things before actually gluing down. That's part of the fun of collage 😉👏🏼💜
You are a wonderful teacher
Videos move along with no extraneous cutting, glueing, private life chitchat. Thanks!
Thanks, Melanie!! 💜

Oh boy. Loved seeing all you journals, envelopes and wonderful collage. Lucky you to get all that great mail. Such great images too! If you remember, can you tell me where you found the lovely antique furniture illustrations?
The illustrations came from a poster made by Cavallini & Co.
What fabulous ideas! Can't wait to get started. What do you do with all your journals? There are too many beautiful ones. Love your channel.
Thank you so much! I keep my journals on book shelves. THey are a great source of ideas for me, so I love having them close. 😉❣️👏🏼
Your books are just gorgeous!!!
Thanks so much❣️

Great!! I hope you'll get some of those envelopes out and see how you can incorporate some into your art 💙
I just made a small booklet to organize for an upcoming campout with family. The pages are junk mail envelopes!@@MargareteMiller

So I love the spiral notebook but can’t tell how you did the making of it or was it just a reg spiral 5hat you made covers for???
I used a machine called a Zutter Bind it all. It's not my favorite, but it works. There's a nicer one called the Cinch binding system.
Where do you find and purchase some of your interesting stamps. Michaels has a very limited assortment.
I buy most online. My favorite shop for rubber stamps is 100 Proof Press.
What is the tool you use to spiral bind the envelope book?

I don't see a link for the rubber stamp with the post marks
Thanks for the reminder! I just updated the description. Here's the link: amzn.to/49IJE6c
That zip code is Oakland California.

Are you in the Bay Area? Would love to attend a workshop with you.
I haven't started thinking about doing an in-person workshop, but I want to do one!! 😉❣️👏🏼

Mailing envelopes and all the information are slowly becoming obsolete. USPS is slowly dying.
I disagree. It’s changing from what it used to be, but it’s not dying. 👍🏼
