Nice video. Glad to see companies converting away from ICE. I disagree with 1 comment around the 4 min mark. 0 to 60. How fast? Would you list in your mind, the number of times in your life that you made a full throttle acceleration? Compare that to how long you have driven a particular car? Would you agree that, how long a car last, is far more important than how fast it is. The guy you were talking to made a point related to this, when he said. We have kept the power down to match what the vehicle is supposed to do. Granted, EVERY reviewer goes for the question. How Fast? Answer this question in your mind A car built as a dragster, how many miles does it last? Actualy, less than 20 miles, then the engin gets rebuilt.. But it got there very fast.
I have a Series 2, and the thought of unlimited power applied to a 2 tonne body with drum brakes all round is scary, so they have taken the right approach.
i saw a vid the other day where they were using tesla drive units in place of the transfer case and gearbox, and somehow regearing it, that seems like a much more elegant solution
Have the Clean Classics guys thought of using E-Axles in place of the LR axles? This would replace the Leaf Motor, allow them to get rid of the Transfer Gearbox and mount a large Battery Pack between the frame rails.
@@nextechsolutions5955 yeah it would be better, but it could easily end up as more than double the cost than a recycled leaf engine running the original drivetrain and axles. depending how much their work costs it could end up way more than double if their labor costs for fabbing mounts and stuff are high.
I love love love the air portable land rover. Obviously not airportable with the conversion, but it would be my dream car. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't share my dream, so it will never be 😞 I am guessing this was a 24 volt system with the battery box between the seats
Audible and thermal Stealth on the battlefield are very desirable qualities ... They are also more powerful at lower RPM and simpler even as hybrids as you don't have to rely on complex heavy and bulky mechanical transmissions. You also get better thermal efficiency. I do love a six wheeler.🧙🏻♂️😎
I still haven't heard anyone say what will happen if we all drove EV's? What exactly will happen, I mean I walk out of my front door on a morning, and what will have changed, no one has said what will be different.
Same thign as during Covid lockdowns and the significantly reduction in road and air traffic, soon followed by significant air quality reports, and not just in cities.
150 hp is more than you need? You dial it back? Clearly you haven't been to America where we worship at the church of the LS. The 6.0 waiting to go in my 88 lightweight should be ... adequate. (and for you green types, it will still run cleaner than the original 2.25)
A conversion like this on a 101 Forward control would be the absolute dream :)

Great comment! 👏👏

My only concern is series front axels are not suitable for permanent 4x4 use. Never noticed him say how they have gotten around this problem?
the torque is adequate for the front axle - unless you purposefully beat them up.
Nice to see that not all conversions cost crazy money, great video keep it up ❤❤❤
This is really cool. I know of a 1956 Rambler that is also Nissan Leaf converted. Works really well. Can the battery range be extended?
Have they looked into using some of the CATL replacement cells for Nissan Leaf’s that boost the battery range from the original Leaf’s small battery.
it will come sooner than later!
Would love to have this for my Discovery 2
Me too 😀
I’d prefer to have seen the installation rather than just hear someone talking about it.
Cool, now bolt a diesel generator in back and run it on red/ag diesel (it’s stationary for tax purposes)!
It'd be great if people who live in the countryside could afford landrovers
Great status symbol that also actually works reliably

yes, but not in the same price range and not applicable on SERIES Land Rovers, just on Defenders and Classic Range Rovers.

probably a cost issue and would need more software for 4wd, more controllers etc. amount of battery packs is likely cost related as well.
@nextechsolutions5955
Take that you've been watching Edison Motors
@@richardbrice6535 Yes indeed I have.
@@lasskinn474 Yes it would cost more, but it would also allow for much more range and a lot less maintenance. The software comes with the controllers.

It’s nice they are reusing a Leaf for components, but £37k is not “making it affordable”. That’s more than buying a new car.
Well you can not buy a new Lightweight, and of course you opt for a conversion for other reason than savings only.
If it's July, it'll be raining...
Actually, it hasn't rained here since, ooh, breakfast time!

It's so weird for a giant military vehicle to be dead quiet!!

It's actually quite a small vehicle by modern standards. Shorter than a VW Golf for example.
Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth..
.. Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste .. 🙏🏻 😊 ✌ ☮ ❤ 🕊
Nice to see a land rover which hasn’t been inflicted with the hideous chequer plate rash!
touché!
Wait… how many companies in the UK have conversion kits for Land Rovers now?
Fellten, Electric Car Converts, Electric Classic Cars, Clean Classics, VASS, Electrigenic and several others

You clearly havent watch any of our other videos (filmed all over the US ;-) )
What is the price of a kit?
i think he said 45 grand, supplied and fitted and 6-8 weeks turn around.
@@Shady-Shaneoh dear .
That’s a big elephant . £45k ?
110s?,
the focus on Series at the moment.
Not again a classic 4x4 into EV.
not again a negative post about EVs on a EV channel by someone that doesn't like EV, yet watches said EV channel - odd! ;-)
