I truly wonder what would have happened had Yao not fallen and won the title. I wonder if people still would have been crying out that Komova/Wieber was scored incorrectly and deserved different placing, or whether a gymnast from China on top of the podium would have led to satisfaction at a close competition and China's first world champion.
thanks for uploading all these videos. I don't do gymnastics but I'm learning about it, and these vids help me compare which routines get awards and stuff, which don't, leotards, competitions, etc.
She being third because she fell off the beam is not a demerit for Komova or Wieber, who also had big mistakes btw. Komova would be the winner had she completed her double turn on beam. Wieber would still be the winner even if Jinnan stayed on the beam if she had hit her bars set. On day 1 the three of them hit and it was 1- Komova, 2- Wieber 3- Yao. Only one competed, as a favorite, in the olympic all around final.
It's most likely because of the pressure to do good. It's like expected of them, and they don't want to let them down. The training most likely has not become lighter. If changed, it's heavier.
@ChainChomp2 I really agree with what you said. Even though Yao Jinnan wasn't necessarily my favourite gymnast at worlds, at least if she had won we wouldn't have all this Komova vs Wieber crap. It also would have been nice to finally have a Chinese AA champion. If 'ifs' and 'ands' were pots and pans the dishes would never get done, but still...

Wieber was bullshitted to be honest, a 13.6 on bars shouldn't cut it.
