    you wont be disappointed with the gt3 seats, i have them in my c8.same size guy except i made 6ft cut.and i went with the basic option to save on weight and $$ not that iam cheap but because there are better things to spend it on. like rims/lowered/did full bolt ons/expel/etc

    Once you give up running around the track, you will still be a car guy and want to enjoy your car. Go with the 3LT if it’s comfortable in your budget. I’m sure you’ll have this car forever and you’ll enjoy the nicer finish as you get older. Just my opinion. -Eric

      Haha, you should help me convince Kate of this :)

    I see plenty of TH-camrs traveling cross country in their comp seat cars and they have said they're comfortable for the trips. I have sat in plenty of comp seat C8 and Z06 cars and I can't really feel a difference in the butt/bottom padding area. It felt the same as the GT2 seat when I was doing a side by side comparison. The only difference I found was the side bolster snugness!
    I'm going with comp seats too for my upcoming spec's.

      Thanks Shane! I think it can be a bit body type dependent but overall I agree with you. I think there will be times when it is less convenient though. Egress is more difficult with the comp seats in my opinion and running errands to 6 different places in an afternoon would not be as fun. At the NCM Bash this year, I’m not sure if it was the sunshine or the Z06, or the nice leather in the 3LT, but I thought that GT2 seat in the red car was about the most luxurious seat I have ever sat in for some reason.
      In the end though, the comp seat’s flaws are not overwhelming and I think that fighter cockpit, locked solid and dialed in feeling is worth the minimal discomforts. The GT2 feels like the more comfortable seat, but the comp seat deals like an experience every time you drive it… for now.

    I want to option my 1LT with the Competition Sport seats which are a $995 option but since it’s the 1LT, it comes in cloth. I’m worried about the longevity of that.

      I also hate how they called it “Performance Textile” basically nicer term for CLOTH

      @RecordsRebuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Don’t worry about the longevity of the “performance textile”. The “Performance Textile” is a durable Kevlar based fabric that’s quite resistant to wear. Even in my 2009 Chevy Cobalt with a very cheap interior without any “performance textile” cloth just lasts a lot longer than leather does.
      Here’s the dirty little secret though. All of these are just seat covers and seat covers have part numbers. You can buy the 3LT seat covers right now for $702 per side so if you want a 1LT with leather inserts instead of performance textile, just spend $1400 on new seat covers and keep your originals in storage for when the leather ones wear out 10 years from now.

    Hey Luke, are you aware of what provisions, if any, they’ve made in the competition seat to facilitate the placement of the anti-submarine straps for a 5-point or 6-point harness? Is there already a hole in the seat or does the installer need to make one?

      Great question! There is not a hole in the seat, and GM does not officially endorse the use of a harness, but you can see exactly where it’s supposed to go and there is no cushion there so the installer should have an easy time.
