- Welcome back to Pathways!
In this episode, I had the opportunity to chat with Jacintha Tagal, a pastor at the HTBB church in Bukit Bintang!
it was an interesting conversation about faith, the Bible, and how it relates to education in a whole bunch of different ways.
Jacintha has the unique distinction of being a pastor who also graduated from Harvard University many years ago, and I was very curious to hear about how she eventually got into ministry alongside her husband Abel, especially considering that in the modern context and modern culture, degrees from super-selective universities are often thought of as a means to high-paying careers or specific kinds of pathways along the way.
It was really interesting to hear about her interest in East Asian studies as well as her journey along the way through Teach for Malaysia and also the education industry at Sunway University leading up to her thoughts on formal theological education and everything in between!
It was a real pleasure to be able to have this conversation and to also hear a lot about faith and the many other things that have come along with it for her.
Thank you so much for this chat, Pastor Jacinta, and as I did mention, HTBB is tremendously lucky to have you.
God bless and catch you again a little later!

The Tagal sisters from Miri are amazing. I remember reading about them. They're overachievers of the sort that are both inspiring and aspirational.
They are legendary people! 🚀
