      Thank you for the comment. Yeah, golf commentary is far from as good as it was back in the day.

    Very well done documentary. Congratulations. ❤️ Can you do one on Frank Stranahan? What a unit he was. He set up his olympic weights in front of the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst, oiled up, and pumped iron for 2 hours before and after every round. He benched pressed over 550 lbs and would later win the Mr Olympia and The US Amateur all in the same year. His best pose was the crab, and he could putt lights out. His favorite pose however was the abs and thighs, and had killer lats.

      Yeah Frank is a very interesting guy. He won 4 pga tour events as an amateur, which holds the record in the more modern era. He was one hell of a golfer and seemed to do great in anything he did. There's also a controversy at augusta and some tragedy which surrounds him. I'll add it to the list for sure. Glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for the comment!

    It played out just like it was supposed to. He became a legendary broadcaster, and his U.S. open victory has become the stuff of legend as well. Well done, Ken Venturi, I salute you.

    A great life story, very well told. I wonder if Tony Lema will figure in a future one.

      Thank you! I'll add that to the list. Tony Lema was quite the golfer, and also, that tragic plane crash.

    Great story, I didn’t realise my countryman Bob Charles, a lefty, came third at that US open. He won the Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes though, his only major 🙂

    This is excellent! I admire his persistence to finally win a major after so much defeat and especially after how close he came to eternal glory as an amateur. That is crazy how he got robbed on the 12th, imagine what his life would've been if he'd he won that round. Damn that cursed 12 hole! Great documentary!

      Thanks for the comment, my friend! The whole story on the 12th is weird because Arnold should have been relieved based on the wet ground ruling. But the rules official said no. Venturi never let what happened that day go, and arnold always said he was in the right.

    I have had several hand surgeries (each hand) like Ken did. It does affect your game. He would have been able to play at least 6 more years on tour without the loss of feeling in his hands.

    it was hot, everyone was in the same situation. I never really bought this dramatic tale of how it went down.

      Yes, everyone is identical and responds to the environment the exact same way every time. I am sure that's correct. It's not like people are complex organisms or anything. Couldn't be that.

    • @TrevorStymie
      @TrevorStymie  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Of course, things can become more dramatic as time passes. Since none of us were there, we don't know exactly what happened in that locker room. All we can go off is what venturi said and the people who were there at the time.
      Cheers

    I'm sorry but I truly have never heard more asinine commentary than what Ken Venturi provided. Uggghhh....just awful.

    • @TrevorStymie
      @TrevorStymie  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      interesting. Please explain

    • @DonnaWest-x5r

      @TrevorStymie I mean I don't have specific examples on cue but he said some incredibly stupid things especially towards career end. And couldn't call a shot as far as which way the ball was going to save his butt. Don't get me wrong I have utmost respect for the man and his accomplishments, but he was cringe worthy in the booth. I favor more the Gary Mchord/ David Feherty type of commentary. Notah Begay also very good. Just my take from an old fuddy duddy.

    This story sucks. Its too long and it implies that the guy just needed to hit some more chip shots instead of jack daniels to win the masters. Reminds men of all the bs around john daily.
