When David Duval Ruled the World
*Uneditied Video* th-cam.com/video/iBk14B9ztfo/w-d-xo.html&ab_
David Duval doesn't get talked about too much anymore.
Which is a shame.
In an era where Tiger Woods was making a huge name for himself, David Duval was ready to break out and claim his spot as one of the best golfers in the world.
And that's exactly what he did.

    George IMHO was more a HOT and COLD Putter than a BAD PUTTER. It is true that he had a dime store putting stroke, that could have been rectified by 1 hour a day extra practice putting and some study of the Great Putters like Paul Runyan, Bobby Locke, Arnold Palmer in his Prime, and others like George Low and Jerry Barber. Maybe Jack Nicklaus knew if he told George Knudson all he knew about putting, that he might have created a MONSTER almost as good as Tiger! I remember George going low in the Phoenix and Tucson Opens and if I remember right, there was a 61 or two in there, so he could go low when he did get the flat stick working! Being Canadian I am proud of him and Moe Norman in terms of the swing and shot-making. George admired Ben Hogan, and that triumvirate of Hogan, Nelson and Snead all had great swings. Sam had the most Rhythmic Swing, Ben had had a highly controlled swing and added a power fade action for both control and also to prevent a duck hook. Moe Norman once hit 6 flags on approaches in one 18-hole round of Golf....Byron Nelson did that during a MAJOR Tournament! BIG DIFFERENCE in pressure level!

    Ben was both mentally and physically very tough. He worked hard to get where he was. Very Heroic in sacrificing himself to sav e his wife in that infamous 1949 Bus Crash. To win 5 of 6 tournaments in 1953 and 3 of which were Majors was a great feat, especially after having to get over all those bus-related injuries, and re-groove his swing.

    I wish these true pioneers of the game made the same level of income as today's guys. They had heart, determination, and honor. Knudson's love of the game kept him going all those years. Very few reached his amazing level of success. He paved the way for many future generations.

    Lower Back surgery at 59. Never thought I would swing a golf club again. The single plane Moe Norman approach decided otherwise. I embraced how to reinvent my swing. Hitting straighter now than I ever did with conventional swing. US pros did Moe dirty when he was on PGA tour.

    May be not the classic swing but. The swing I wish I could look like is COLIN MONTGOMERY! The club head struck the ball like a pool break!!

  • @jmf54
    @jmf54 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I found out from a pro who took lessons from him when he was young that George taught him to address the ball off of the toe of every club. George said [basically] the swing expands energy as it is swung and “thin shots can still work, but fat shots will not.” I started addressing the ball off of the toe of the clubface and found this to be correct in that my big miss, fat shots, were virtually eliminated and the percentage of solidly struck shots improved dramatically. My putting improved with this technique as well. Try it…it may work for you as it did for me. My swing feels so much free-er.

Look how many of these types that litter the game and not to mention the distasteful greed - something Moe couldn’t be labelled with. He had the gift to win multiple majors and everyone knew it. Definitely a legend in the game for anyone who is into golf history he was a unique individual who did things his way and that pissed a lot of people off he was ahead of his time he would’ve thrived on tour today I liken him to someone like Bryson Dechambeau completely oblivious to what the norm is they are going to do their thing their way no apologies. You know when Tiger woods says that about you you’re onto something special such a shame the way he was treated he absolutely would’ve went on to win major championships some of the stories are just incredible hitting 6 flag sticks in an 18 hole round is robot like never heard of that before and I’m not sure if anyone got a chance to look at the score card where he shot 59 yeah he did that after bogeying the 10th hole 😳 one crazy thing we do have in common is the power line story that I’d never heard before I was playing at a tournament in college and we came up to a short uphill par 4 I was licking my chops over the way I was hitting my driver there was a power line maybe 220 yds away I teed up my ball and hit that power line 3 times in a row 😂 and I remember that even though they ended up fine in the fairway the local rule was you had to re-tee I ended up birdieing the hole and we are all talking after about how crazy what just happened was not only to hit a 1 inch diameter line 3 times in a row but who can say in a tournament situation that they hit 4 tee balls on a hole and still make birdie 😂 I’ve been playing for 20 years that’s just one of those holes you never forget I’ve got a few other but that’s the craziest that and the time I Randy Johnsoned a bird on a drive during a tournament and I couldn’t clean the blood and bird parts off my ball until i got to the green 😂 his life wasn’t taken in vain making a birdie in that hole had a whole other meaning 🤣😆
