    Can't give them enough props for keeping physical buttons on their vehicles, as the industry is quickly learning that the all access for all components on the touch screen is not only dangerous when driving but has shown to be in research a major safety issue for drivers. Tactile buttons don't need visuals as you can memorize them by touch and positioning. Keep it up Subaru!

      I currently own a 2017 outback. I am only considering purchasing a Forester over another Outback because of the infotainment system. If Subaru doesn’t change their screens back to a reasonable size or doesn’t continue to offer reasonable controls on a forester then the forester I am probably going to buy will be my last Subaru.

    I have this exact model, color, and even identical options and accessories. But boy were they hard to find in my area. It’s worth pointing out the remote start capability on the Subaru app and the Starlink SOS/Info features. Also worth mentioning is that the exceptional safety profile of this car makes it the least expensive to insure In the US.

      I can’t speak for Foresters, but a Outback is 10x the vehicle. The Rav may run forever, but offers zero performance or comfort, and are horribly cheap.
      My and my buddies wife bought a Rav and Outback at the same time. They both reached 90k the same year. The Rav was trashed while the Outback was like new. Shocking considering the Outback was owned by the aggressive drivers, and hauled far more cargo, as well a lot of Rocky Mountain miles.
      I was blown away by how awful the Rav held up. Sloppy handling. Terrible performance. The seats were collapsed. And EVERYTHING rattled over the smallest bumps.
      Meanwhile the abused Outback was as tight as the day we bought it. My buddy’s wife refused to drive the Rav any longer, and I don’t blame her. I’ve ridden in nicer dodge Neons.
      Then again, I don’t know the real differences between a Forester and Outback. They appear to be cheaper made vehicles, but I can’t speak to the quality differences.

      XT’s are awesome! I’ve reviewed a Premium and GT WRX so far, very fun especially with the turbo and 6 speed. Definitely get as much seat time as you can before finalizing your decision. As much fun as they are the road noise is bad, stiff suspension isn’t always fun on daily commuting, and obviously much less practical than something like your turbo outback. With that said, drive what makes you happy and the new WRX are very good in their domain. 🙂

I have mostly city driving but even when I mix it with hwy driving my average doesn't go above 24. Strange thing is, other Sport Forester owners report a lot better, even in the city. It’s roughly averaging 22-23.7 mpg. The contrasting stitching is ORANGE, not red! I wish it was red. I LOVE that Subaru kept the CD player -- I hate not having one, in the 2018 Kia Soul + I bought after my 22 year old (1999) Forester started giving me trouble, thanks to a dishonest tech at Kennesaw Subaru who did things that didn't need to be done, & which ruined it. I wish the front console had matte finish, rather than cheap looking shiny. I don't like the hesitation of the proximity lock/unlock feature. That would be very annoying. I don't like all the fancy electronic stuff -- just more to break down. I totally wish I still had my 1999 Forester -- loved that car more than any car I've ever owned. Since I can't, if this car matte finish & RED contrasting trim, I would totally buy one!

    • @BlackSpade72
      @BlackSpade72 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wilderness is nice but Why does the Forester Wilderness get worse mpg?
      The penalty for the Wilderness' increased throttle response and acceleration is a big loss in fuel economy compared to a conventional Forester. Wilderness trims get an EPA-estimated 28 mpg on the highway, 5 mpg less than other trims. The combined EPA rating drops by 3 mpg, going from 29 mpg to 26 mpg.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว

      That certainly is a drastic difference! I would assume the huge improvement in low end torque of the turbo Outback do better at compensating for the gearing and rotational mass. Kinda like a big tired lifted diesel can get way better mileage than an equivalent gas powered truck with half the torque and similar HP figures. 🤷‍♂️🙂

    Between the 2023 Forester Sport, Touring and Wilderness, which one is the quietest on highway cruise? Also, which one has the noisiest acceleration?

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Wilderness is likely slightly louder with its AT tires and added ground clearance. The Touring is likely slightly quieter with its premium interior materials. But you’d probably need to test drive for yourself or have a decibel reader to know for sure how subtle the differences are. Likely not very noticeable for most of us, especially with ever changing wind/road conditions that would add a bigger influence to noise protruding into the cabin. Thanks for watching! 🙂

      Not that I’m aware of, you’d need to go Limited or Touring for those! 🙂

      If the Forester will serve you better and you’re in a financial place that you can make the switch and it not be stressful than I personally would! After owning a Crosstrek for 2 years the Forester and Outback definitely are a model higher and even more practical in many situations. Just my thoughts. 🙂

      You could always upgrade the battery to a better one than the manufacturer provides when the time comes or for earlier peace of mind if you’re hesitant on the factory one! 🙂

    So the base model starts at 26k... Why would you pay 9 grand more for some 18" rims and red stitching? There is nothing "sport" about this car except how fast you're throwing away close to $10k

      @@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I might drive straight to the tire dealer to see if I can swap the oem tires for one size up. I wonder if the 18's on the sport can handle a bigger tire too. More meat would look good on those tires. I realize extra weight can affect the ride and gas mileage, but just a thought, Thank you.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I recommend you also read up on some forums to see the experience and recommendations of others who have done that to make sure you learn from other’s experiences. Not all tires are created equal, and the wrong one or a really heavy one (that kills MPG/torque) might not be worth it over another tire competitor. Slightly more expensive tire could pay for itself. On the forums you can also learn what is the max reasonable size to buy without issue! Just my 2 cents! 🙂

      @@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Thanks, good idea. I was shooting for a premium then dealer offered a sport but it had an issue with the front sensing cameras so I opted out but that had 18 inch wheels.
