When I bought my wife her Outback for her birthday , she wanted cloth interior. We disagreed. I thought she’d like leather more, but she insisted on cloth, so I bought her the Premium model with Ivory interior. 4 months later she told me that I was right and she wanted leather interior .
I went online and found Katzkin who installed the custom leather, both front and rear seats with dark brown inserts and tan (ivory) on the sides and bolsters. Her Outback is Cinnamon Brown Pearl exterior so the new Leather is gorgeous and matches perfectly.
My Forester is a 2019 Touring that’s Sephia Bronze with Brown leather interior. It too is a gorgeous suv.
My wife and I (in our 80's) ordered our Subaru Forester Touring (we are still waiting for delivery after 6 months) and your video was very informative and well crafted. Fine job of feature explanation. We have watched your other videos equally presented professionally.

I have a 2010 Subaru and love it...But I'm getting ready to upgrade to the 2022 limited...My first brand spanking new car...Got to have my moonroof/panoramic for those of us that are somewhat claustrophobic...and I like sticking my hands out of the roof...I'm 61 gotta still have a little fun 🤗

Hello Alex, I've commented on a number of your videos. As I have mentioned before, we got a 2022 Forester Premium with four added options on Jan. 22nd. I just wanted to comment on one of the options the Premium comes with. The pre collision braking. This is insane(I say that in a good way!) It works very well. The one thing I noticed about it, when a car is making a right turn in front of me and they don't have to be that close...it brakes crazy hard. I'm not at an unsafe distance. It caught me by surprise the first 3 or 4 times especially at night. So. I either tap my brakes to disengage the cruise control or switch lanes if possible. We just put 1600 miles on it on a one week vacation. We learned a lot about the car on that trip. I'm only disappointed that I haven't been able to use the all wheel drive system yet! LOL! I enjoy your channel! Keep'em coming!

The 8" infotainment screen needs to be standard across all trims or at least starting with the Premium and up. 6.5" is way too small IMO!

Purchased 2015 Forester Convince trim 🇨🇦one up from base. Have everything needed. Added weather tech floor mats from weather tech directly. While had to wait 9 weeks for colour wanted Silver went by quickly. Still own. Cheers Your videos are great . 👍😎🇨🇦

I always enjoy your videos and learn something new each time as a newer and first time Subaru owner. Im still happy even though my car needs a new transmission with the recall on the outbacks. I have the Forester in the mean time from the dealer until my recall gets fixed that is why I popped on this video. I like driving it but am spoiled by the outback XL turbo version so not sure I could switch to a Forester.
It's hard to go back once you've experienced the XT. The turbo really makes the Outback come alive!

I love Subarus in general. They are some of the best everyday cars made period.with that said, safety features should be standard on all models without question. The second thing is having to subscribe to access the features on your car such as remote start is utterly ridiculous.

Saying a new car has a backup camera as a feature is like calling ABS a feature. Neither are features. They are both requirements. Vehicle manufacturers are REQUIRED to include ABS. Backup cameras as of 2018+

Thanks for this video. It was very helpful in making my decision on what trim to buy. Can you add a navigation system to a Premium trim? I don't mean using your phone with Google maps but like the one on the Touring trim.
Alex, I don't know specifically where I should ask this question, so it's just going here. I recently purchased a 2022 Forester premium, and could not love it more. I'm concerned with the black interior, particularly the dashboard, fading since the car is not in the garage. Am I being a worrywart for nothing? Thanks so much. I'm loving your videos.

I’m so glad that I went with the Touring model.
It’s such a nice suv. I love all its amenities and the heated steering wheel.
I bought my vinyl floor mats through WeatherTech, along with the window vents and mud flaps, saving a lot of money over buying from Subaru. The fit and finish is exactly like the Subaru.
I also ordered a dash cover through DashTopper.
Next, I’ll have it pinstriped and the front windows with the same darkness as the rest of my Forester.
After that I’ll continue to change the oil every 4K miles with Mobile 1 full synthetic, change the front and rear differential, transfer case and a transmission flush every 30K miles and drive it until I die, (I only drive about 6K miles a year and my Forester has only 5K miles on it now).

HiThere, Enjoyed a refresher course of all my gadgets on my 2020 Limited Forester. I also have the heated steering package. I am considering the Wilderness Forester because of the exterior sporty look. I absolutely require leather seats and all the goodies I have on My current Forester. Do you recommend the limited for the Wilderness. By the way, I will NEVER be going off roading with it. I am 72 years old and driving city only.
Great video. I bought the '22 Premium. It has all weather floor mats for the front seats and back seats but not in the trunk like your premium. I called the salesman and he didn't know and told me to look on the window sticker (no mention, either way) or Subaru website (little info). I bought it the end of January and only driven it once since getting home from the dealer, about 14 miles.
I bought my 2019 Premium new with the all weather mats but I had to purchase the trunk mat from Subaru. Not sure if this applies on your '22 model.

Hi Alex, love your videos and Thank you for your time. Can you tell me if the Subaru Forester Touring comes with and option for either the Brown leather interior OR the Black Leather interior. I AM in USA by the way. And do you know if the Black leather would be the same that comes in the outback limited. Im stuck between the Touring or the Wilderness, I like power on both fronts and I like memory seats etc. but I love the rugged Wilderness look and capability. Thanks in advance.
Hey Mark! Thanks for watching. The Touring comes in black or brown leather interior. This is often times confused with the Outback Touring, which only comes in the brown leather. The interior design is very similar when comparing Outback to Forester. However, the Outback Limited and Touring trim have the driver's seat base extension and the Forester Touring does not. Other than that, they will look and feel very similar. Hope this helps!
As an Outback 2021 Premium owner, my next car will be definitely Subaru again, but I will choose Limited trim (or higher trims) level b/c too many features are shown only on higher trim levels.
I feel the same way. It’s worth it to spend a little more to get the features you want, especially if you’re planning on having the car a long time

Thanks! Yes, it sure does! That's a standard now on all Foresters except the Premium pkg 11 and base model.

Yes, you can use the paddle shifters even if you're not in the manual mode.

Great information, what is the difference between limited and touring models
Hey Michael, the Limited has the option to add nav, heated steering wheel, harmon kardon speaker upgrade, and reverse automatic braking. Where as the Touring comes standard with all of the options I just mentioned. The Touring also comes with exclusive options that no other trim level has, which includes memory seats/mirrors, driver focus, satin chrome mirrors/trim pieces, and brown leather interior.
Which forester year does not have have display monitors nor any kind of "assist" "safety" features /alerts?

I use a microfiber with that also but I use an interior spray so it's safe on the rubbery and plastic materials.

Just curious...some lady was commenting on the clear coat on Subarus (for another video) saying that it isn't that great and that they not only scratch easily but even a not so aggressive car wash will leave swirls in the clear coat. Is that true? Seems odd for a vehicle meant to get off-road activity. Thanks for any insight.
Thanks! I haven't heard of Subaru having any clear coat issues. You can always get a ceramic coating on the exterior of the car. Most dealers offer this or you can have an independent details shop do this. This keeps your paint protected and makes washing it 10 times easier because dirt just rolls off when water is applied.

As long as your car has the push button start, it will already be ready to go. Since you have the Premium trim, they all come with push button start now for US models. You just have to tell your dealer when you pick your car up that you would like to add the starlink subscription through the mysubaru app

The app can't be downloaded to the car itself, but you can use Apple carplay/Android auto to mirror the nav from your phone up onto the touch screen display. It's actually much better than the tom tom nav in a lot of ways.

I was wondering if you know if it's possible to swap out the driver seat of the 2022 Forrester Limited with a seat from a 2022 outback? I'm 6'4" I prefer the Forrester over the outback but the seats are noticably shallower in depth than the Outback.
Additionally, is there a trim of the Forrester that perhaps has a greater depth in the seat?

Is it well sealed under the hood for dirt prevention in both the engine compartment and inside car cabin?
Thanks Raymond! I’d say the seal for the hood is identical to most other cars. Over time, you will collect dirt and dust under the hood because the front grille has openings for airflow. Overall pretty easy to keep clean with a microfiber and cleaning solution.

Hey Alex. Great videos. On the Tom Tom Navigation system, does it just route you point-to-point, or does it suggest best routes based on current traffic conditions? I'm thinking to pick up a Wilderness up here near Boston pretty soon. Thanks!
I don't think the tom tom adjusts the route based on traffic conditions but I'll have to look further into this. I do know that the apple car play/android auto can be used to mirror your nav apps onto the touch screen display. For example, a lot of people like using the Waze app or Google maps on the display. All this requires is that your phone is plugged in to the usb port for charing while you drive.
Thanks for the info! I have one question, what infotainment screen size comes standard with the Forester Wilderness? Some sources say 8 inch but it seems to be an optional package and nothing necessarily explains otherwise what size it could be. Thanks again!
All Forester Wilderness will have the 8" touch screen display, the option package get navigation. The option package reads as "8" Multimedia Navigation System" which is confusing because it makes you think it's referring to the larger screen but really it's referring to the navigation system.

What are the tow weights for the forester sport 2022
I have a 2020 sport and don't have those headlights. Just the normal beam. Not the led strip thing above the headlight. Do I need to turn thus on? Was it a option on sport model
