How To Make Instagram and YouTube Videos Using Garageband And iMovie

In this video, I explain how I go about uploading play-along videos, as well as beat-making videos on TH-cam as well as Instagram.
It was a real challenge to make this video, because of all of the different shots and so on and so forth, so I hope you were able to get something out of it.

This raw process demonstration is exactly what I needed to get started. I knew that I would use garageband to capture the audio/guitar, but had no idea how I was going to use imovie to also capture and sync the video and audio. So far this is the only video that demonstrates a simple process, and it is exactly how I was hoping to go about it. Love the AirDrop tip! Other videos are way involved and use fancy cameras and other sotfware which is fine, but I just want to keep it simple as possible. Thanks a Million dude, you Rock!

A hint about finding the right place in the video part - don't drop the audio from the video at the very beginning but use it to match with the recording exported from Garageband. Then detach it afterwards. It'll save you a lot of hassle in syncing.

Glad you found it helpful. I've upgraded my set up quite a bit since then, so I'll probably do a similar video in the future on how to do this stuff. Equally as inexpensive but better.

Are you filming in landscape? Cause my video is shrunk when I airdrop it to my iPhone from the mp4 QuickTime viewer
Don't remember what I used in this ancient video. These days, I use my iPhone and then AirDrop footage into Screen Flow Editor. Straightforward stuff.

In i movie I have had trouble with putting the audio it always goes right to the beggining of the project. Well I will finish the video to see if you address this or not
These days, I use Screenflow Editor for 98% of my editing. It works much better.
When I do it through iPhone the exported sound is bad
