    When it comes to phone tuners, one app I’d recommend is Tonal Energy. It’s a few bucks on the App Store, but 100% worth it if you’re a musician. It’s not only a great tuner, but also has an extremely customizable and programmable metronome along with some great quality of life things regarding timing and tuning.

    Similar to Stephen Stills' Eb5 tuning. Whole thing is turned to Eb except the B string which is tuned down a half step to Bb. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes and 4+20 were two of his songs that used that tuning. Still get a good drone like you would with a straight D tuning, except you have the benefit of the fifth in there.

    • @andrewsiemon
      @andrewsiemon 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Very cool sound. Reminds me of a late 90s, early 2000s kind of sound. Experimenting with different tunings is huge for learning honestly. Standard wasnt all that fun for me at first, but all fourths really spoke to me.

    • @andrewsiemon
      @andrewsiemon 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      All 4ths would be cool. Would probably have an ambiguous sound. And yeah, I feel like this D tuning gives off Filter vibes, a late 90’s / early 2000s band. I dunno if you’ve heard of them.

    Hey Andrew I have the 35rt and yes it’s a great amp but for some reason when using pedals like distortion or overdrive pedals on the clean channel it sounds like crap. Anyways I run my pedals on the dirty channel with minimal gain like around 5 and set the pedals to taste and it sounds great. Most people on utube are saying run the pedals on the clean channel. Just wondering if I’m doing something wrong.

    • @andrewsiemon

It's just seamlessly and endlessly adjustable no matter what the set is. I've had mine for over 11 years and such a good investment.

    Envelope Filter is, IMO, too often kept in a narrow range of its possibilities. Envelope can be mixed with all sorts of other pedals Get some crazy unique sounds For instance I like my Earthquakes Devices Spacial Delivery on its “down” mode with fuzz. On low pitches, it’s like some behemoth rising from the deep, and on high pitches it’s closer to “normal”

    Hey man, great vid! I agree that the silencer despite the name is a bit noisy. My one on my board can be a tiny bit noisy from time to time despite being on its own power supply most of the time. I recently have connected it to the power output of my polytune and that seems to have solved it for me but results may vary. From what i understand, the silencer is a completely analogue circuit with some buffers for the send and return loop so there may be some component in there causing the noise? Not too sure but as someone else has said in here it seems ehx pedals are occasionally a bit noisy in conjunction with other pedals. Hopefully you can find a suitable solution for your board!

    • @andrewsiemon
      @andrewsiemon 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm glad you said something because I read that putting a buffer (including a polytune tuner which I believe has a buffer in it), is a way to fix it. I'm going to try it the moment I get my hands on one.

    • @jamesred100music
      @jamesred100music 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @andrewsiemon Yeah that would definitely make sense. I just put the silencer into the polytune power output just because I didn't have enough power outputs on my supply for it

    • @andrewsiemon
      @andrewsiemon 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ I just tried it with the BOSS TU-3 which apparently has a buffer in it as well but it didn't work. Maybe the PolyTune would work instead, but I don't know. I'm emailing Electro Harmonix about it now.

    • @jamesred100music
      @jamesred100music 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @andrewsiemon Good idea! I may have just gotten lucky. Being an analogue pedal, component tolerances and the like can vary from pedal to pedal so try and find one that works for your pedal!

    I was at a concert recently and their computer wasn’t working correctly so they weren’t able to perform the full set. It’s not good to bottleneck your entire show through something that can crash as computers frequently do. They had a 45 min set and we only heard about 25 mins of music. The rest of the time their sound you was playing around with the computer trying to get it to work.

    • @andrewsiemon

      Imagine how embarrassed they were. I'd be mortified.

    • @cotati76
      @cotati76 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ it was bad. People were really disappointed. If they’d been using real amps they’d turn the power back on and be back playing in a couple of mins but they were in the middle of a Euro tour and normally use 5150s but had rented an axefx or QC for the one US show and it crashed on them. If you only have a 45 mins set but your computer takes 20 mins to get back online they may as well not even bother going back on stage. You could tell the band were pissed.
