Omg that was my patreon request! What a funny review, I thought you were going to give this one a hard time but it kinda surprised me. I remember this was one of the last Genesis games I've rented back then and I was able to beat it in a weekend, but the rollerskating stages are really demanding on memorizing their patterns. Didn't know about the comics or the GG port either. But hey, we got a Clyde cameo, making this request totally worth it!

green dog was a bulk game back in the day no one wanted to own or rent. A friend had one and let me keep it, so I had it sitting on my shelf until one day I literally had no other game to play and gave it a chance, because the game felt unexciting and the graphics werent really impressive. And thats when I realized how underrated this game is. As you say it is a fine game and I had a good time beating it in more than once back in the day. I don't know at what time you upload in your local timezone, but having finished my night shift and arriving home to have breakfast, discovering a new SNES Drunk video (well, Sega Drunk in this case) in my feed to watch while I eat makes my day!! Keep it up, love your content!
Holy crap I was just involved in a big discussion about this game! I had posted on the gameplay about how I tried to remember this for like 27 years, then it just popped in my head. Also been binge watching SNES Drunk and Console Wars. Sometimes the universe just makes sense.
nice content dude I've only seen your snes music compilations to study and work but this video was totally gnarly, but seriously i enjoyed your commentary :)
I loved this game as a kid. The atmosphere and art both really sold it to me. Just a stylish platformer that wasn't anything too special, but had its own wacky charm to it.
I kind of love this game, mostly the soundtrack has become an acquired taste due to nostalgia. One GLARING mistake I gotta point out, food doesn't restore health in this game, only the cola cans do. This becomes apparent during the later levels that have hazards that send you back, it's easy to rack up potshots and die.
I loved this game. The music, the chill platforming, the fact that the wildlife and pedestrians attacking you actually makes sense within the context of the story. There's some good off-path exploration built into the stages, like a cave hidden behind the first waterfall, etc. And you can even skateboard in drained swimming pools. Thanks for not rubbing this game's face in the mud like most reviewers out there do. It's got good aspects, but most reviewers seem blind to it, and the recent AVGN video didn't help.
I had this one back in the day too. I took a chance on it since I didn't really know anything about it but thought it looked decent. And I ended up liking it more than I expected. I get that the game isn't for everyone, but I do think it gets a lot of hate due to other people like Joe from Game Sack, and I love that show. But I really liked the game back in the day and revisited it a couple of years ago and still found it enjoyable. It's a game I'd tell people to try for themselves and also to give it a bit of time. Good to see others that like the game.
I took a chance on this game back when it was new. The character design is a big odd, but I liked the visual style mostly. I ended up liking the game more than I hoped since I didn't know what to expect. I played it again a couple of years ago and still liked it, despite it being popular to make fun of this game. And it's fine if people hate it. But the game isn't broken and unplayable like so many other games that are truly bad. So a very fair review here and that's good to see.
I can just imagine being a kid in 1992 who only gets maybe one new game every 2-3 years and they get this and it's over in an hour. Happened to a friend of mine with Aladdin for the snes.
