Thanks Doug. I was skeptical at first. I like it a lot.
There is no forward or reverse switch. You just push the button and turn it in the direction you want it to turn. It's gyroscopic.
I need to do a little review vid on it.
Get some of that blue degreaser soap in those gallon jugs from Walmart cost about five six dollars a gallon and put it in a spray bottle . Spray the saw down real good and let it sit a few minutes then wash it off with the spray nozzle on your garden hose and it cleans the saw pretty good , if it's doesn't clean all the poop of the saw just repeat . There is two types of that gallon soap at Walmart but I use the cheaper one . I believe it's J&S chainsaws here on TH-cam has a parts washing vat he has filled up with that soap and that's how he does it . I just love it when I work on a filthy saw for someone if you're going to own a chainsaw you should own a air compressor . Must be toasty up there today or it has been raining ---- your kinda wet . That's what I hate about Stihl , gotta buy fuel lines , bars , chains all from them . Not like Echo or other older saws .
I've been using Super Clean for a few months now. It does better than any other I have used.

Thanks Don. I did take a look at the boot and it seemed okay. The bearing seals seemed good also by turning the saw on each side up while running, but in my limited experience with old saws the seals are sometimes good when I get them running, but soon start sucking air. I don't understand why, but it happens.
That case is worth as much as the saw !! I got an 028 salvaged from a fire. Still runs great. Plastics and bar blisterd but straight and sprocket tip good. Bungee strap to tractor or skid steer.
I have 3 028's now. Hopefully I can make a good one this winter.

This is a fine machine. Have the same. Wood Boss is the tune up version from 47 ccm 3 HP to big bore 😂 46mm piston with 51,5 ccm 3,4 HP. Mine is built 1985 in germany. Clean it and have fun with it. I love my old stihl and the new ones.

@@ClintsHobbiesDIY you will do it fine. Clean carbureator and new gas filter, right adjustment and this engine with 51,5ccm runs perfect. I love the sound and force. Use it in my garden and for cutting firewood in forest here in germany. Use MS361VW too.

sounds good to me. The Stihl parts are a bit pricey, , , I bought a fuel line for a Husqvarna, with filter, and grommets for 7 bucks, it's about 2 feet long, so I cut off what was needed, and had plenty remaining. The grommet fit perfectly. Also, it has a larger ID than the Stihl lines, and with the extra length, it was REALLY easy to install, then I just cut it off after installation. I will use the Husqvarna lines from now on (I have a bunch of 028s, from the type 1 old style (it has Alan head cap screws instead of the T27s, and I have a BEAUTIFUL 028 from W. Germany, with about zero miles on it. . . perfect condition (really put together so much better than the stuff made in W. Virginia). Many thanks for the video.

Before I started resurrecting saws it didn't matter to me if it was a Stihl or Husky. Now I would much rather work on a Husky.

I was searching for the problem at that moment and didn't know if I had a carb kit, but I did, so I did put the kit in.
