I think it's because the Encore has less sub-bass, meaning when the volume is normalized, it has more "perceived loudness" than the others. (Just my theory)
Legend has it when Alan Ross uploads, your day instantly becomes so much better. The Encore pretty much assualted all these speakers in this comparison lol definitely have interest in it (besides that horrible battery life) Harman Kardon go play mini finally came down to a decent price, after being 400-500 here in the us for a hot minute, definitely gonna pick that one up before they raise the price again. Pressing the combination of the Bluetooth and - buttons adjusts the bass strength. pressing the combination of the Bluetooth and + buttons adjusts the treble level. the scale for each adjustment is 3 steps.

In particular: The EV Everse 8 HK Audio Pro Move 8 dB Technologies B-Hype M The Box DSP110 These are all closer to pro audio but side by size units the like PB310, Encore Essential, etc they have outperformed them every time in our testing. I think they'd be great to add and particularly for EU folk and I think if u made a video it'd help a lot of ppl!

Just received Wking H11. This thing is a feature explosion. Comes with a wireless mic that has its display and USB c charging with a nice quality. It also comes with an IR remote to control the interface. The way the two dials work on top is the left knob is your mode selection. Bass...treble...volume.GTR-vol...mic- bass...mic-treble...mic vol...echo. You pick one of the modes and then use the other dial min-max to adjustable each one of those independently. Yes, this is the first speaker with built-in bass and treble controls for music playback. It works well. You can go up or down -6 or 6+ db in bass and treble. The first time I went max volume I didn't realize the speaker volume was only on 18 of 30. So it almost matched a tribit stormbox blast in the bass. My phone volume was at max but not the speaker. So I maxed out the speaker and retested. Max volume on this speaker can only be described in one work. VIOLENT!!! The amount of bass kick this speaker has is nuts. Thumps twice as hard as my stormbox blast. I have never seen a wking speaker use a woofer that had this much excursion. No deep bass. T11 goes deeper in bass but this speaker goes far louder with more punchy bass and more bass fullness at lower listening levels due to how much you can customize the sound profile. On the back of the speaker is mic port guitar port USB and tf card. It has a connection port marked live than monitor than aux and the last is DC input. Top button controls play pause skip and reverse track. Mode button. Mic button. The instrumental button next is the recording button. So as you can see this speaker is a ton of features and they're so easy to use. This is well-designed.
@Alan Ross Reviews i got a second one and it's absolute murder. Both at 100% is the loudest thing iv ever heard. I can't get closer than 2 m or it's getting uncomfortable in my ears and the bass if you set directly in front of them actually thumps your chest so hard it's actually a bit uncomfortable. These are upper bass monsters. Even my edifier R2850db with 8 inch woofers doesn't have this much upper bass kick but unfortunately tws is awful on these. The imaging they create does not stay in the middle. It keeps shifting back and forth between speakers. It's a weird effect I don't like.
Yes, finally the Bag of Riddim again! I have one and I love it, it's been on the market for a few years now but I think it's a very interesting speaker
My memory of the Bog of Riddim 2 is certainly suffering from rose colored lenses! I remember when I got that sucker back in the day just being amazed at all the low bass I could hear with it just sitting on the ground. I am sure that it was a legitimate reaction considering the other bluetooth speakers I had experience with at the time but man, it does NOT hold up to my great memory of it. I still think it had a pretty nice sound with the wide dome tweeters though. And yes... certain tracks do still sound really good on it. Also, it did go pretty decently loud at the time without falling apart much. Yeah, bsas was reduced of course past 50% or so.

Don't know what's driving HK's obsession with strange form factors for its speakers. It's interesting though how the three HK speakers actually sounded almost the same though, and all pretty good, and to me, all better choices than the other speakers featured.

I've actually had that Bag of Riddim in my Amazon cart for a while now but I keep seeing other things I want to grab first. I've seen the price drop and go back up a few times so I'll probably grab it when I see another significant drop. It sounds like it's different enough (in a good way) from the others to warrant having (even with its quirks) and I do like the the way it looks. I might get the Encore at some point too but It looks like I'll have to buy direct from JBL unless something changes because Amazon only currently offers the Essential. Check your warehouse clubs. Sam's Club had the non-essential encore before Christmas. Not only that but they sold it for the same price as the essential and it came with 2 wireless Mics. When it was on sale for $250 there was no way I could not buy it.
Upgrade the Xtreme 3 with the latest firmware (releases a few weeks ago) and it will blow the other speakers away! As far as I understand it, the soundcore motion boom is more of a party/electronic music speaker? I also read that is has difficulties separating the instruments (not sure how to describe that in correct terms).
i always have to wonder what people expect from these cheap bluetooth speakers when they talk about things like instrument separation. i can only assume they never heard a decent hifi setup. if we can agree instrument seperation comes from a good open soundstage then you are not going tog et it from a single speaker setup. from my own pov i find the blast works multi genre and responds well to eq. does it sperate out the instruments into a 3d image? no. often those that know no better immediately associate a crisp sound with hifi and detail. it really isnt but i find thats what they like to hear. these bass heavy speakers wont give you that type of sound simply due to the excellent bass they produce.

Hey Alan! Did you notice or did a notification pop up that the Xtreme 3 has a firmware update? I have been on the latest firmware for like a week and with mu ears I don't hear any difference and I don't know if they changed something with EQ because I don't use it personally. Although I did notice the battery life being better than previous version😂

Especially since it's kind of an indoor speaker, with that battery you won't go far outdoors anyway 😂 However, Onyx Studios are even less portable, their 12Wh battery is garbage. 🙄 I told you, IRRELEVANT ! For the design, I don't think anyone like the Uranus design, which, funnily enough, is actually the design of the first HK Onyx (not Onyx Studio, just Onyx), almost 10 yo design 🤔

I had to let go of the HK Go+Play, but I loved it for watching movies due to the wide soundstage and I think the sound overall was perfect for movies. However it didn't have a USBC port for charging it and therefore I had to let it go. I'm just lost in which speaker to buy instead, with a similar sound but with USBC. I'm completely lost in this jungle. I have had the Charge5, but the HK just had sooo much better soundstage...

The Marshall Middleton is very interesting as I heard they moved from their usual sound and made it a loud bassbox in a decent relative small form factor under 2kg
@Alan Ross Reviews It's a very good speaker. Deeper bass than extreme 3. But it's strange in that in a very live room bass becomes very deep and quite impressive like at my work. But in a dead room like my bedroom with 100 of my girlfriend's squish mallows lining every wall from floor to ceiling it just kills the bass on this speaker. It's more sensitive to these changes than my other speakers. Depending on where your testing it it could sound really impressive especially deep bass rumble but in the wrong setting it sounds unimpressive. Kinda strange so I just keep it at work. I blows away my docken define +2 which I am going to return. Expected deeper bass. I get that from the Middleton fully rolling off at 38hz. The docken can't even come close to that.

Jbl xtreme 3 is the worst speaker Jbl has ever made, it lacks bass, the highs and mids aren't in balance with the bass, its just a total waste of money, besides the speaker has a lot of issues cause of cheap parts that were used to manufacture it

yup its a unique bit of tuning with some great looks, full of character i guess you would say but not for the purists.

yup the BOR is no hifi marvel but for me it offers something different when i get a bit bored with the others. its why it never got sold on.

IMO Go+Play still beats out the rest here, regards to sound quality, but if it's all about deep bass my pick would be the Encore.

Between as much as I love the Tribit for it's stereo sound, I think the highs are just too raspy and the Encore seem to deliver crisper highs.

none of them are really meant to be left out like that. but only the onyx studio 6 is fully waterproofed
JBL clip 4 left clipped to the door of my shop in the rain for at least a year. Still works great. Depends on the model. Look for similar stories

The Marshall Middleton is very interesting as I heard they moved from their usual sound and made it a loud bassbox in a decent relative small form factor under 2kg

@Alan Ross Reviews It's a very good speaker. Deeper bass than extreme 3. But it's strange in that in a very live room bass becomes very deep and quite impressive like at my work. But in a dead room like my bedroom with 100 of my girlfriend's squish mallows lining every wall from floor to ceiling it just kills the bass on this speaker. It's more sensitive to these changes than my other speakers. Depending on where your testing it it could sound really impressive especially deep bass rumble but in the wrong setting it sounds unimpressive. Kinda strange so I just keep it at work.
I blows away my docken define +2 which I am going to return. Expected deeper bass. I get that from the Middleton fully rolling off at 38hz. The docken can't even come close to that.

I think the original Get Together (darker wood) sounds more balanced than the Bag of Riddim
This speaker is not about balance, its about reggae and big upper bass and is lots of fun but not for general listening.

@@valentinscernavskis2386 its not really an outdoor speaker due to very small battery and deep bass heavy. Maybe the x3 makes more sense outdoors

Jbl xtreme 3 is the worst speaker Jbl has ever made, it lacks bass, the highs and mids aren't in balance with the bass, its just a total waste of money, besides the speaker has a lot of issues cause of cheap parts that were used to manufacture it
