Finished watching. Very good stuff. It seems that, to best Vacheron, Patek must become familiar with other international cultural traditions related to time. It would go something like this. Patek: "I see your Hebrew calendars. I raise you the Asian zodiac (including elements, e.g., Year of the Water Tiger, Fire Horse, etc.), the Asian Lunar Calendar, the Japanese and Thai calendars (based on Imperial milestones) and select but random data from the Farmers Almanac." Vacheron: **silence for 10 years**

The Patek should've had an expensive/valuable elastic strap. Would've made it so much practical and sensible. I just can't imagine taking it off everytime and rotate the case just to show it off to them watch enthusiasts. Anyway, me fav is the Vacheron! 🖤

Just FYI, 100,000 hours if done by one human being would be 11 years 150 days (accounting for leap years included and assuming they worked every single hour of every single day). If you want to base it on eight working hours per day and a five day per week work week then we are looking at 47 years and 307 days.

I have always been a $30 Timex guy. When it breaks, buy another one. Until I hit a hole in one at a charity golf event. A local jewelry were sponsoring a par 3 hole and a hole in one received a pair of Rolex men's & woman's wristwatches. They were worth about $5k each. I gave the ladies watch to my wife and kept the other. And that started my love and fascination with fine watches. Oh I still use the Timex at work because I am a mechanic and I am hard on watches, but I have my Rolex or Breitling or Grand Seiko on any other time.

At 01:10, the near-dropping of an expensive watch and the story of workmen destroying a Steinway piano remind me of two incidents of violins meeting tragic ends. There was an account by a virtuoso violinist, who finally managed to save enough money to buy a million dollar Stradivarius violin. He then opted to keep the Stradivarius in a "soft" violin case [violin cases come in the "hard" or "soft" variety; soft cases protect against moderate bumps; the "hard" cases offer full protection]. Sure enough, after a winter rehearsal there was ice on the ground, causing him to slip on some outdoor stairs, and he ended up sledding down the stairs seated on the soft violin case. The Stradivarius was reduced to "splinters". At least this probably increased the value of the remaining Stradivarius violins. And then there was a woman who was a violinist for a major orchestra, whose expensive violin got caught outside the doors of a subway train she had just boarded. She decided to hold onto her violin until the next subway stop. Tragically, this resulted in her arm being torn off by some obstacle, and probably the destruction of the expensive violin. I guess the moral of these stories is to get your priorities straight and think carefully about the risks you are taking.
