Did some digging this morning and found a few things that I missed for this video! ABS is enabled on all cars in the North American series only, but it looks like in the previous 991 generation it was not enabled! Every car also comes equipped with traction control but it is disabled and cannot be used in any of the classes!
I was never into this series until the 992 cars came out. Now I'm a fan. It makes for a great secondary GT class to the GT3 cars too. 24H Series and NLS/N'Ring 24 does this. I would love to see a race with 992 Porsches combined with the Lambo Super Trofeos.
Yes thank you for pointing that out! Did some digging this morning and looks like North America is the only series that uses ABS and that has been a recent addition with the new 992 car if I am understanding properly!
@@offintheesses yep! It's apparently since the PCCNA is supposed to prep folks for GT3, they have the ABS system. Pretty cool because you'll see these cars doing similar to GT3 lastimes despite less downforce. Pretty wild!
Was part of the Practice Sessions yesterday in Shanghai and going to watch Race 1, maybe even catch second part of Quali’s but the teams are chill and the cars amazing when you are looking at them from half a metre distance in the garages. what’s cool is, it literally is which team will optimise their car to be a title contender, it’s a fair game for everyone compared to different manufacturer series such as a GT3 comp
Man I want you to know that I absolutely LOVE your to the point, every i dotted and t crossed, explanation of IMSA. I watch all your videos now and solely thanks to you, I want to add IMSA to my list of motorsports to watch in its entirety for 2024 and beyond. Thank you so much and keep up the great work brother!
Thank you, I really appretiate the kind words! The whole goal I have is to try and introduce more people to the sport and give them a way to easily learn about a very complicated form of motorsport! If you ever make it to a race (i'll be making the trip to a few next year) then make sure to say hi!
@@offintheesses but you break down your vids so good. Ahh, if you ever run out of content ideas come over to the vintage side. I’m actually prepping 2 cars to race in Europe… 1 skyline and 1 68 Mustang.
@@FootageFactory Believe me if I had unlimited time I'd love to cover so many different kinds of motorsports! Thank you for the kind words though!! That's awesome, just going to enter local races or planning to do any of the big historic races over there?
@@offintheesses Bro I want your channel to really get some traction because you are so knowledgeable, it would be so cool if you got compensated for the hard work you put in!! But that's me being selfish because its hard to find a channel that breaks the info down as good as you do!! They dont have too many race series at my local track, but If I can shake the car down enough, Id like to hit goodwood! If not this year, for sure next year.
@@FootageFactory Thanks man! Hopefully things do take off but regardless if that happens I just want it to be a place that people can point new fans to and say that's where you can learn everything about IMSA or for existing fans a place where they can stay up to date on all the news that's happening! Best of luck with it! Hopefully you're able to finish it this year and hit the track with at least one of the cars!
In the PRO class you'll want to keep an eye out for Loek Hartog, Gustav Burton and Zachary Vanier, they're the drivers who have won so far this year! Been a ton of good racing so far! I'll be there as well, if you see me then say hi!
It has to be a lot, there are so many Carrera Cup championships around the world! When I was researching for this I didn't realize just how many there are!
I believe all Carrera Cup cars do have ABS, and some of them might even have TC as well (not so sure about that tho, correct me if I'm wrong please!)
In ACC they have ABS and no traction control.

TC is enabled for Nurburgring running but all other series have it disabled. ABS for North America as well
I got to see my first Porsche cup race during the Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Jealous! Long Beach is definitely one I want to get out to one day!

One correction. Carrera cup NA has ABS!

I really do enjoy this series. They are a good add to the Watkins Glen Weekend that I always go to.
Yeah there are some great support series that make the trip to the Glen!
Great video, very informative
I've been following PSC for years, that was a great explanation on how it works, well done!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Ohh dude. I’d love for you to break down vintage racing, and legal modifications for vehicles.
Oh man with the number of classes of vintage/historic racing it sure would take a while haha

They also stream the Carrera Cup on Peacock.
Did not know that! They're not always great at listing what is going to be broadcast on Peacock!
Im going to see this in Montreal in June, anyone knows what drivers are the best? Who should I keep my eye out for?
