Every Walmart super tech product has treated me very well. The ST engine oil is superb. The most important thing is that you actually change your oil and filters on a regular basis.

Also with Synthetics, older engines with traditional gaskets will leak at the molecules in Synthetic are smaller than traditional oils and you will find a lot of engine oil leaks, Chrysler did not put Synthetic Motor Oils in their engines until the early 2000s, so most Magnums will do better with traditional motor oils! There are countless myths about engine break in. Our work trucks go to work the day they roll off the lot, just as our race engines went and raced the day after we finished building them.
I switched to Kirkland because we got a Costco but my 4.0 ranger had over 400k purring like a kitten when I finally traded it and most of its life on conventional ST.
@@bobbymorino5329 super tech has stop leak in it too. Those Chevrolets technically call for that same Dextron ATF that they run in their automatic transmissions, but it’s just Chevy trying to get you to buy a Chevy product 😂
Well I believe myself personally I’m going to mix vanilla ice cream 🍨 and some apple 🥧 pie i’m gonna put a little additive in that apple pie,,,, Big old thick slice of extra sharp cheddar cheese melted into it,,, everyone’s invited the coffees ☕️ on come ahead on 😊
I’ve been using the 10,000 mile formula Supertek full synthetic 0W 20 in my 2010 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 liter engine with 168,000 miles on it so far so good,,, I’m also using a super tech oil filter.I’ve got about 6000 miles on the oil right now and seems to be working fine we’ve had some cold weather in the past here recently and I had the oil cap off the other day as I was adding about a quarter of a quart of oil,,,,after awhile my Tacoma will use a little oil usually about somewhere between a quarter of a quart and a half a quart every 1200 miles or so and I looked at the oil cap and there’s some kind of a light colored slime up in there.I immediately checked the radiator reservoir and it’s completely full,,,the slime doesn’t seem to be at the opening of the oil hole 🕳 on the engine itself only just way up in the top part of the cap on the inside of the cab itself????I don’t know???truck seems to run fine??? I understand warren oil manufactures the super tech oil which is fine because Warren‘s been around for a long time and makes really good oil for a lot of different companies,,,That being said the Rural King in our area sales a full synthetic OW 20 oil that was harvest king motor oil however now it’s Providence motor oil (i’ve been told by store executives that it is exactly the same oil that has just been branded differently)and I believe it’s rural King oil is also made by Warren oil,,,I was able to get a couple of 5 quart jugs on sale sometime back for $9.99 I’ll probably try that next with a Walmart filter again.
The film you see on the oil cap is condensation in the crankcase. Your engine isn't having long enough drive cycles to evaporate the moisture in the crankcase.
And change that oil more often, Toyota motors will sludge up with change intervals like that. And you need to check the PCV, sounds like you need a new one. It sounds like you are abusing that truck.
That's only 4 companies in a World making oil additives. That's exact synthetic oil as all those brand names . And it cost less then $2 for gallon to make it.And non-synthetic is 97% is the same oil as synthetic with slightly better results for temperature changing.
Synthetic oil thins out more than conventional oil when it's hot. My 96 Grand Cherokee 5.2L calls for 10w-30. I've been using synthetic. I bought it used and it had zero oil leaks. When I started using synthetic the front and rear main seals began leaking. I ended up replacing them plus oil pan gasket. I replaced the water pump and the timing chain while I had everything apart. After that I continued to use synthetic and the valve covers began leaking. At this point I fixed all the leaks, but I don't care what anyone says about switching from conventional to synthetic. If it does or does not cause oil leaks? I think it is very plausible that it can. My jeep doesn't have that many miles considering how old it is,under 150k on the clock. Before you switch from conventional to synthetic, really think about it. Do you really want to fix an oil leak? Possibly every gasket and seal on the engine? I think it is possible that I wouldn't have had all the leaks if I would have just stuck with conventional oil or synthetic blend. One of the auto parts store guys told me that if you always use synthetic, keep using it. If you use conventional, don't switch to synthetic if you have 70k + miles on your vehicle. Makes sense to me. LOL
Yeah I agree. I had always used synthetic blend in my 04 Tahoe and never had one leak anywhere. It was right at 200k miles and I serviced it with Castrol Full Synthetic right before a trip hauling a uhaul trailer to ND. When I got back after a 2,400 mile round trip, I checked the oil and and it was barely showing on the stick! Come to find out it was leaking in the rear main seal. Luckily I put some blue devil rear main sealer in and switched back to synthetic blend and it stopped the leak.
0w40!! Most new cars and trucks come with 0w20 in them mostly due to enviormental issues. Your other trucks run on 10w (-20c) so i assume you live in a fairly mild climet, a 40 weight is a pretty heavy oil meant for +40c, that is getting pretty hot. What does it say in the manual? can you use a lighter oil?
@@TheMoparGarage Ok, wow! and how does the viscosity effect this system? I mean...if you use a 5w30 does the whole system shut down? Engines were so simple when I was in auto shop and tearing down moters in the back yard.
@@markwarnberg9504 I’m not sure of the scientific answer, but the oil viscosity is important because these Hemi’s have hydraulic lifters, the lifters on cylinder 1, 4, 6, and 7 are designed to allow those cylinders to deactivate. So oil pressure is very important. The way I understand it, the system would still work with the wrong oil, but it wouldn’t be as seamless.
Supertech oil is made by Warren Distrobution, same oil as Costco Kirkland, and Amazon Basics Oil, and Meijer Oil, etc. I don't believe they are affiliated in any way with ExxonMobil, but that doesn't matter it is good oil...

Well not quite a third the cost of the big name brands, more like 30% less. And that’s still a big saving. If you change your oil every 5000 miles or 6 months, you’ll be just fine with SuperTech. I just wouldn’t use their filters though. 😊😊😊
If you have a Costco close by save even more money and get the Kirkland synthetic which is the same exact oil as super tech and Amazon basics but the cheapest. All from Warren distribution
Update, Costco running low on oil all the time and can’t get high mileage anymore. And Amazon oil(same exact oil as super tech and Kirkland) is hard to get now as well. Super tech for the win
Thats weird I was thinking that' to I used to buy a bunch of it year ago and would change my oil aloght cause I just like clean oil in there and man stuff is super cheap I also believe there's is no big huge company oil company that just makes oil for Walmart it comes from the big company's like that place in benicua can we send them product for redline oil Castrol bp
Well, you’re right about one of the names super tech oil is made by mobile one Pennzoil and also Warren oil company. There’s three different ways to figure out which manufacturer made the oil. Do you know what they are?
Ive been using supertech oil since it was 72 cents a quart. My father uses only supertech oil in his rigs. I also use castrol edge 0w40 in my 21 ram 3500 6.4l.
Well the only problem is I think Mobil1 is not really all that good anyway. I personally and honestly only ran it once in personal vehicle and thought it was noisy (valve train etc) and my worst experience with Mobil1 was in my TC Harley Davidson... and it was extremely noisy. Aftermarket cams don't help with valve train noise but the Castrol syn did help. Usually under 10$ a quart for the motorcycle oil on Amazon. Sometimes 45$ for the 6pack. As for vehicles I run T6 in everything.... gas or diesel... but u can't even find it on the shelves. You can't beat the price of T6 ... usually 20$ish a gallon. So now Castrol is for everthing!!!! Mobil1 is junk .... don't get your panties twisted. Just my opinion.
Been using SuperTech many many years - never any problems. Got 482,000 miles on 1996 Rodeo - 120,000 on 1997 Rodeo. I don't ever plan to buy any new vehicle - too much electronic junk in them.
I stopped draining oil in 1963 with a Frantz oil cleaner and Standard Delo 100 W 30 oil in my Rambler American. I have used Mobil 1 Pennzoil Platimum and others. When I went to Super Tech I didnt drain the old oil I just started adding The oil when I changed the toilet paper. I notice there is I think 5 K 10 K and 20 K oil. My 93 Subaru has 237 K on it now. Never had synthetic in it. No telling what oil I have put in it. Shows no signs of wear. And no leaks. Been thinking about draining the oil and putting in synthetic Super Tech. That is what I have in everything else including the lawn mowers. The only bypass filters I have now is Gulf Coast and Motor Guards. Use Great Value 1000 paper in them from Walmart. I was changing the toilet paper and adding a quart of Mobil 1 15 50 every 12 K on the 84 Subaru. A Caterpillar lab said the oil looks good for 250 K with no oil drains but I needed to change the toilet paper at least every 6K . My idea in those days was I needed to have a thicker oil in this Dallas heat. One time the radiator exploded. Tied up in traffic with the A /C on and the temperature was almost in the red. The 93 does better. The lab didnt think one quart of Mobil I every 12 K was enough new oil. That's where you get the new additives of course.
supertech synthetic 5w30/ 5 liters = 5.2 quarts 19.99$ cdn $ so cheaper than in the u.s.a. @ 0.77 u.s. cents for 1 canadian dollar , do the maths. I run my big modded sr20det 60% supertech synthetic 5w30 and 40% castrol mineral 20w50 , i ve even been given new old stock john deere 0w40 synthetic oil that I ran the engine with and something very cool when you get it at discount price is the castrol 5w50 synthetic generator oil. when the supertech synthetic is at discount price I buy their 0w20 too and mix similarly to the 5w30 it so I get something ranging around 8-10-w-35-45 but it is rarely to be seen on the shelves. why pay for such trademarks as royal purple , redline or mobil one ? oil is oil as long as you care for it.
I would say the oil filter is probably more important than oil brand. Oil brands are all adequate oils. But not all filters are. Especially with synthetic oils lasting 7500-10,000 miles. I use NAPA Gold.
Supertech is NOT as cheap as people say. For their Synthetic oil it is $5.96 a Quart they don't sell the 5 Quart Jugs where i live. And Valvoline Full Synthetic is only $23 for 5 Quarts. Purolator Filters are the BEST and still affordable.
Interesting. It’s $3 per quart here in South Carolina for full syn and I believe low $20’s for the 5 quart. I haven’t seen Valvoline syn that cheap here but I can’t remember the last time I looked at it in particular. Next time I re stock my oil I’ll definitely be curious to double check it!

How about Super Tech, in Power Steering, for Power Steering Fluid !
Haha, got a shelf full of it of course!
@@TheMoparGarage Cool! Is it ok in a G.M Chevy Trailblazer, or GMC Envoy??
@@bobbymorino5329 those things were just a Chevy 5.3 right? Should take any ole power steering fluid, so yes!
@@TheMoparGarage I wasnt sure, cause this liquid is yellow. And also has Stop Leak.
@@bobbymorino5329 super tech has stop leak in it too. Those Chevrolets technically call for that same Dextron ATF that they run in their automatic transmissions, but it’s just Chevy trying to get you to buy a Chevy product 😂
Walmart oil is made by Warren oil company I've checked out they make mobile one too I also run this in my Harley-Davidson and my primary also
Well I believe myself personally I’m going to mix vanilla ice cream 🍨 and some apple 🥧 pie i’m gonna put a little additive in that apple pie,,,, Big old thick slice of extra sharp cheddar cheese melted into it,,, everyone’s invited the coffees ☕️ on come ahead on 😊
I use super tech oil and filters got over 300000 thousand on 2 different chevys both I changed oil and filter every 6k miles
I do the same. never a problem as long as it's synthetic.
Yah it’s a good oil
Also is basically the same as Kirkland brand and Amazon basics
Watch and learn from this guy:
Lake Speed Jr.
Best to buy the cheapest oil and change it more frequent
Agreed!
All modern Dodge Hemi’s call for 0w40 because of the MDS system.
@@TheMoparGarage MDS?
@@markwarnberg9504 multi displacement system. Shuts 4 cylinders down when not needed
Its not like Walmart manufactures their own oil...LOL.
I spend a little more and use P.U.P. because of the cold weather performance and low volatility, important in direct injection.
Supertech oil is made by Warren Distrobution, same oil as Costco Kirkland, and Amazon Basics Oil, and Meijer Oil, etc. I don't believe they are affiliated in any way with ExxonMobil, but that doesn't matter it is good oil...
Since when is Mobile One the most expensive on the market?
I do agree in the super tech.I looked it up myself.. But a total disagree on that castro.. That is a bunch of crapy oil.I've been running castro and sludge builds up valvoline is my choice now
Well not quite a third the cost of the big name brands, more like 30% less.
And that’s still a big saving.
If you change your oil every 5000 miles or 6 months, you’ll be just fine with SuperTech.
I just wouldn’t use their filters though.
😊😊😊
If your not racing or have a high output engine it don't matter. I've ran it in all my cars
Oil is oil 💀💀
Just do them before 5k or exactly at 5k
They all made the same way

I do not!
Ive been using supertech oil since it was 72 cents a quart. My father uses only supertech oil in his rigs. I also use castrol edge 0w40 in my 21 ram 3500 6.4l.
That’s awesome. Team 6.4!
@@TheMoparGarage yessir. I get around 19mpg on the highway as long as i run mid grade gasoline. Not bad for a 3500 pickup

Just my opinion.
super tech 15w40 diesel, evaporates. I won't use it
Supertech oil is actually made by penzoil . It is still a great product but not made in the Mobil facility.
Supertech is not actually that cheap these days. It's literally more expensive than some brand name oils. So the value isn't so fantastic anymore.
In Quebec it's still 19.77$ for 5 litres 5w20
I buy whatever is least expensive. It’s usually M1 or PP with a rebate.
I used Mobil 1 for years then switched to Super tech and have never had an issue.
Same!!
Have you noticed that walmart has mobil one for $ 24.97 and supertech is 19.97. I'll go for the mobil one for the 5 bucks !
Been using SuperTech many many years - never any problems.
Got 482,000 miles on 1996 Rodeo - 120,000 on 1997 Rodeo.
I don't ever plan to buy any new vehicle - too much electronic junk in them.
Full Synthetic? How many miles per oil change interval?

Nope, its not made in or near Mobil. It Warren oil, which is a very good oil.
New trucks will burn some oil upon breaking in.Engines rings need to seat themselves.
Life lesson when it goes boom you won't be likein it any more
I bet he's still waiting and it'll never go boom

I pay $24.00 bucks for 5 quartz of mobil one synthetic.
supertech synthetic 5w30/ 5 liters = 5.2 quarts 19.99$ cdn $ so cheaper than in the u.s.a. @ 0.77 u.s. cents for 1 canadian dollar , do the maths.
Mobile 1 isn't quality Valvoline & Castrol facts especially for trucks

If your trucks gas tanks all are empty at the same time you might have somone taking gas out of them
Haha I think I just procrastinate on filling them 😬
@@TheMoparGarage Lets hope so. I had somone that kept breaking into our barn stealing things and had him on camera but didn't actually catch him in the act until a few months later when he came back. We didn't get a plate number but could tell what type of car it was. I was on my way hom and seen the car parked in the entrance to our bean feild a few hundred yards from my house. I knew instantly it was the same car so I shoved a few shop rags I had in my truck into to the muffler and went home. Went inside and got my shotgun and headed for our shop. The door was closed when I went in the house and was wide open when I came out. So I just hopped in truck and went to the car and sure enough he was frantically trying to get it to start and ran down the road when he seen me. Sherrif picked him up a few miles away walking beside the highway. I used a back hoe and buried his car halfway beside the entrance of our feild. He never told them he left his car there and neither did I. It's remained there ever since 😆.

I use it too, but, videos like this are nothing but anecdotal. Also Mobil 1 is not the most expensive oil. Royal Purple, Amsoil and many other brands cost more, and many are better.
