Never had any attachment to the series whatsoever and I'm starting to agree playing this remake, what a waste for me to have never looked into the series and what a brilliant fucking composer
Nothing can compare to playing this game on the ps2 when I was about 14, on a misty evening. It was just about to be midnight after being lost for hours, I just had to turn it off! The tension had built to the point the sound of a door slamming was enough to break me haha. Like, no game made me turn the game off and turn the lights on, actually walk outside for fresh air. That's what I love about Silent Hill. The constant unknowing, while the atmosphere really brings the mystery, paranoia and feeling of dread. Not forgetting the monsters, One of the most original creatures seen in horror a long time. Nothing compares to the fear of not knowing what might fade closer out of that void of dread
the moments that stick in my mind most in silent hill are not the endless encounters with unthinkable horrors. they are the beautiful moments of peace and respite. comforting music. cool and chilling atmosphere.
