Nah fam. I’ve won matches and rolls in bjj doing Tsukkomi Jime. In bjj they call it “amassa pão” or “bread kneader.” It works but you gotta have the right angle. While I will admit, and agree that it doesn’t always work, I’ve never been armbarred using it.
I didn't know that William Shatner trained judo. 🙂 But seriously, a very informative video. A bit surprised that a leg and arm combo choke from that position would be called Hadaka Jime and not Sankaku, though.
@@SoldierDrew I know, and because it was a damned good martial art and remained for a very long time even through the eighties and early nineties, IMO. It still is in many ways, and with a combo training in some form (kick-)boxing, I still say it rules. It just has to find back to it's roots a bit. That's why Chadi's channel is so great and important. But the part about Shatner was a joke. He just looked a lot like James T Kirk/ TJ Hooker in a younger version, but it is definitely not him. 🙂
Everybody should watch that video from Shintaro's father. It is excellent. Thank you Chadi!.

The first technique on the mat of the coloured video is a tomoe jime - a powerful juji jime variation.
Was waiting for this. Thanks!
thanks chadi
The hand that pulls down in Okuri-eri-jime does not restrict blood flow. It is only holding Uke in place so he does not turn.
Fun fact, Higashi Sensei’s teacher was Kenji Tomiki
Os vídeos do Kosen Judo são top de mais!

During the 1940s until the 1950s Judo was the most popular martial art in the west and among celebrities.
