💯💯💯 I don’t care about packaging unless it makes the product heard to dispense. ELF’s vitamin C serum has the worst packaging. Barely any product goes into the dropper. I choose the Ordinary any day over that crappy packaging!
Agreed. However, I DO wish the boxes of Ordinary products used a larger font for the product name. It would be nice if your eye was more readily drawn to that, and it was a little easier to read without burying your face in the shelf.
I love The Ordinary package. Straight, clean, no bs. Excessive packaging/labels make me think they are trying to sell the bottle but not the actual product. I like The Inkey List too.
I have used products from The Ordinary for years. Some are OK while others are essential in my daily routine. This serum was a hit as soon as I first tried it! I do not notice a pink cast but I only use half a dropper and at night. I’m very glad you gave it your seal of approval! 🎉
The Ordinary is having a 23% sale. I am an esthetics student, almost 60 years old, and had never even had a facial done by anyone but myself. I live in NY and as soon as the cold weather arrives my skin get very dehydrated and gets really flaky and dry, especially on the lower half of my face. I usually have to battle it for a few weeks with layers of moisturizers. I started using this and the flaky dryness stopped in a few days. I love this serum. I put it on first after cleansing and wait about 10 minutes, then do my routine. The pink hue does go away after a few minutes for me. It has been accepted into the inner sanctum of my skincare lol it should be honored 😂😂😂😂
I had no idea it was viral. I got mine weeks ago cause I needed more azalaic acid for my rosacea. My face is loving it. Initial pink does go away and my red cheeks have improved.

I live somewhere currently with dry cold weather, so far this serum has been a good part in my skincare routine during the week. I can see it being helpful to my nose and especially back of my hands for when it gets to minus 30celsius. Only thing I would change is the dropper because I find the serum too thick for the dropper. The pro side of that is it does help with portioning, con side is I need multiple trips if I want to apply to face and hands. Edit: thanks for the like doctorly! I think that thIS “ PINK LOTION” ( Barrier Support Lotion ) from the Ordinary is worth every penny. I 10:44 have been using it a few times weeks now. And of late I have been getting lots of compliments on my st looking so good and glowing. So it takes a minute. But it works. And yes I use it with my other Ordinary skin care products as I have been using. And it seems to be compatible with everything that I have been using. Like you said “ No instant miracles “. But cumulative improvements. And NO IRRITATION whatsoever. Great protect. And I am 77 years old.
I didn't even realize it's viral :D Just found it in an online shop a few weeks ago, my upper eyelids were terribly itchy and irritated so the ingredients list seemed appropriate. This serum went beyond all my expectations, it calms and soothes my inflamed and irritated eyelids without even a slightest sting. Perfect to put underneath an occlusive moisturizer or even better - vaseline.
It seems to me that a lot of viral derms have some kind of issue with this brand...maybe, warranted. For me, they actually started the trend of consumers knowing and understanding ingredient based skincare, which in turn prompted a lot of derms becoming influencers and having a platform on social media to discuss skin. I only started watching derms because The Ordinary made me more aware of specified ingredients. Effective, economical, and accessible is always beneficial to everyone. As for this serum, it has really helped me with the appearance of my skin while using retinols.
I really didn’t like this at first. My skin was sensitive to it at the time, but I was in the middle of a bad eczema flare up. Once my skin calmed down a little bit, I started using it again and it started improving my skin even faster and got better than before. This is now a must have in the winter for me.
I switched from adapalene to tretinoin about 10 days ago and did experience a reaction. Dryness, redness, flaking... This thing actually calmed my skin very quickly. I kept using tretinoin with this on top of it and in 3-4 days my skin already got used to the tretinoin and is now completely calm! I only use it at night over tretinoin because it does have a pink hue.
😅 lucky you. I’ve been using tretinoin for almost 2 years and still experience dryness and sensitivity 🤷🏻♀️ all well. I Just take breaks from it. Of course my skin does way better in the summer humidity with tretinoin versus the colder months

@@xXxLordFrodoxXx I personally apply the Barrier Relief Serum underneath my Tretinoin. To serve as a buffer, like a sandwich method. This is one of those products that I really noticed a positive impact on my skin. Just in the last few days my skin has been freaking out (dry/burning) for no apparent reason - maybe stress? Well, I have dry, sensitive, aging drama queen skin and I love it!!! It does calm and moisturize it. For an excellent price too! (And pink has been my favorite color since I was a little girl 🙂)
I just purchase this and it came yesterday! So far I love it! I have been hitting my tretinoin and using other exfoliants pretty hard! After only one application I’m quite impressed! Thank you guys for sharing your opinion on this lovely serum!
I'm on my second bottle and I love this product. The price is now $17. I would like to see a pump and not a dropper and an option to buy a bigger sized bottle. This has changed my skin and I can't go without it!!!
I picked it up during a vacation trip when it was first launched because I forgot my prescription ceramide cream at home for my perioral dermatitis. I found it very soothing and comforting. Interestingly, my stubborn perioral dermatitis that bothered me for 4-5 years has mostly gone away after about 4 weeks of use!!! I am not sure if it’s a result of a less stressful psychological state, or if it’s all from this product. Just thought I should share my experience out there for people who are hopeless with their skin sensitivity. It’s definitely worth a try with this price point 😊
Could you do a video on skin oiling? I am a 54 yr old women and have started oiling my skin with a mixture of Jojoba/Frankincense/Black Castor oil and I have never looked better. My skin is so plump and clear, wrinkles only appear when I smile. It has changed my life. I would like to know what your take is on this. I know oil can be bad for some skin types, but going through menopause left me with dry irritated skin and trying several brands of skincare left me with breakouts and scaring. I gave up and went holistic. It’s amazing what my skin looks like.
I love this serum!! I have sensitive skin and i accidentally over-exfoliated one day so my skin was ultra sensitive for days, thought i'd give it a try and omg my skin has NEVER recovered so fast not even two days later my skin was back to normal, truly a miracle products 10/10!! Also could ya'll do a video on e.l.f skin products?
I personally didn't have a good experience with this, i actually got fungal acne after using it. I'm sure just a mixture of my own natural biome and other products I was using didn't help, but definitely did not work for me. Glad others found it to be useful.
I would like you to discuss quality and potency of the products from The Ordinary please. I was in Sephora and I was choosing between two products, one being The Ordinary. The Sephora rep told me that they recently had a team discussion regarding this line and one big topic was on how the ingredients were sourced and concern over the ingredients being 'clean, origin, and potency'. She acted as if she shouldn't really be disclosing that and moving the product anyways. It was mainly that insiders in the industry do not use or choose The Ordinary as a personal or for use on clientel for fear of potential reaction. As if the manufacturing and distribution had secrecy or lack of disclosure on these matters. Do you have any thoughts on this?
love the fact that you rate and tell your experience with the ordinary products. i just bought this serum. I'm not sure when to use in the application order. any tips? Thanks.
I have used this for 2 days. I live in a desert area, very dry and so my skin is, of course, dry. I am in my mid-40s and I absolutely love this product, so far. My skin is bouncier and my fine lines look smoother… I am just so happy I tried this. The only Ordinary product I’ve purchased. Plus I love that I can layer it. Sad you can’t with vitamin c, but no biggie. I’ll just rotate my day routine. Definitely recommend!
Hi there, niacinamide and vitamin c supposedly eliminates effectiveness when used together. I believe that it can also cause irritation. BUT there is a lot of conflicting info on it. The packaging states to not mix the products. Im probably just too cautious. 😊 I really think those are the only reasons they state to not mix them.
Hi Doctors! Would have wanted more information on what other activities are compatible with this new product, i.e. okay to use with retinol, vitamin c, AHA, etc. Thanks!
b12 (riboflavin) has a fluorescent bright yellow glow naturally. it actually naturally glows crazy under a black light. there might be another ingredient making it more green looking
I adore this one, just bought my second bottle. I have quite dry cheeks and rosaceea and it visibly calms down my skin and hydrates it well. My boyfriend also loves it 👍
I'd say it absolutely has the capacity to be causing a bit of coloration on my face. I've been ramping up my adapalene usage, and sometimes when skin flakes off later in the day it'll be a bright pink! Never ever happened prior to using this product. Still like it though.
I am surprised how much i like this. I don't think the pink really stays pink very long because i use it immediately before bed and sleep with a white pillowcase and no pink stains it
I would give it 7.5 out of 10 BECAUSE it is Simple. I give higher scores for packaging that helps preserve potency not for gimmicky application or looks.
Love both of you being so honest. I agree with you about the B12.. I personally don't like colors in skincare, and I don't buy in the B12 as breakthrough. I gave it half a bottle to try out, not that impressed... It's like a mineral based smell with graininess
Did notice the pink color on your right side when you put it on and the left was lighter throughout the rest of the video. Love your guys opinion and reviews and the fact that there are 2 of you reviewing one particular item. 😊
I bought it few days ago cause during PMS, my skin feels almost as if I had a sunburn, or as if I had spent a long time in cold weather, and I thought it could help - and I'm very skeptical when it comes to new skincare trends!. But it actually works! It really has a soothing effect. So it worths the hype!
Please do a video of products for pregnant/breastfeeding women. It's so hard to navigate in the market, but I trust your knowledge. I've aged 10 years since given birth 4 months ago I feel like, so please PLEASE do a video 🙏🏻
WAIT GUYS... The b12 is supposed to have a function. Dr dray says its supposed to reduce itch/irritation. Its not just in there for the color theres a function too
$13?! In Canada it’s $25.80. I know our stuff is usually more expensive but that’s a lot lol. The majority of their products here are usually $10-$15. It is a lovely serum though and way cheaper than what you’d pay even for a lot of the drugstore face products. The new Oil of Olay super serum is $56 which is outrageous.
The Ordinary’s price went up in price because it was bought out by Estée Lauder….Prices have more than doubled. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this product….Susan
I really enjoy the ordinary products and inkey list products. I wish y’all would just do a series over main brands and which products you like from each major brand that is within a normal price range. With 3 kiddos I don’t take time for myself and I don’t want to spend a ton of money. I have normal combination skin with fine lines starting because I’m getting closer to 40 everyday.
I was sold until you said niacinamide. It's so frustrating that skincare without high amounts of niacinamide and/or hyaluronic acid basically doesn't exist. I wish companies would offer products that don't use them or use low percentages for people who can't tolerate them.
My exact same thought! Sounds great until you see it contains niacinamide. Where are the soothing products that don't contain niacinamide for people who's skin does not find niacinamide to be soothing??
@@DavidCruickshank Purito Dermide moisturizer doesn't contain niacinamide and has ceramides. A few korean products doesn't and contain centella (I only have the centella water in mind from Skin1004) . La Roche Posay Cicaplast and Avene Cicalfate creams but they are thick.... La Roche Posay Dermallelgo moisturizer would be a good pick and I think some Avene moisturizers as well.Good luck exploring those !
Pre turning 35yo, my skin was always combo- oily. After 35yo it switched to combo dry but then started just getting drier and drier.. I was diagnosed with hashimotos thyroiditis (hypo) & pernicious anaemia just over a year ago - both know for causing dry skin issues. I obviously switched my products when i switched from oily combo to dry combo but this last year I've REALLY had to focus on it to prevent my skin, face in particular from turning into snake skin shedding off. I also experienced my 1st bout of eczema 2 months ago, 1 large palm size patch on my throat and 2 small patches under my left eye and on the eyelid. Used 1% steroid cream on my neck but was told not to use it on my face. Slowvember sale had just started, i normally stock up on my fav products from the ordinary and get a years worth. Ive stopped all actives whilst having the eczema flare and have been using the barrier support serum & the b oil ever since. The combo cleared up the eczema on my face faster than the steriod cream cleared up my neck! I actually started using the combo on my neck too to help it out. Was/am using the aveeno baby dermexa emoliant cream on my face and the goodnight emolilient balm on my neck to keep it moisturised. Am now finally back to where i can START bringing back in actives again like retanol & exfoliants. (I pay to see a private dermatologist here in the UK). Feels a little disheartening to start over again but i understand why, however the ordinary and its pricing has allowed me to first try new things, change strenghts when needsd, buy totally new products if my skin changes like the eczema flare up and rebuy less potent actives when I need to, and not have to think twice or overthink due to the price. I do use oyher brands for clensing/moisturizing/sunscreen, but nearly all my actives are from the ordinary, except for my favourite glycolic acid toner.
I have some dryness and a compromised skin barrier in some areas. I just bought this product for slovember and just started using it. Love seeing your review and knowing that you think it's a good product.
I had a completely different experience with this serum. It stung my face and made it red. It pilled no matter how or what order I used it. I got through one bottle, just barely, and couldn’t wait to be finished with it.
Do not use anything that stings your skin. You may either be allergic or have a severely compromised skin barrier. Stick to basic unscented non-comedogenic moisturizers like vaniccream, hydrating toners and essences like corsx snail mucin to repair.
I recently got in the band wagon of this product. For a The Ordinary product I feel like it’s a bit on the pricey end. Finally decided to buy it because of a really bad allergic reaction on my face. This is a holy grail, my skin improved in about two days of use along with Avène’s cicalfate lotion. the pink does go away after a few minutes. Might be one of my favorite products from TO
Hey doctorly approved, I’m running to Ulta🏃🏻♀️…so this video was just in time, I was actually eyeballing it because with the weather and my hypothyroidism my skin gets itchy and dry and when I use retinol or Bakuchiol serums at night I get red spots and itchiness. I was looking for something to incorporate into my skin care routine with retinol and Bakuchiol
I don't care for the package 📦 the most important thing to me are the ingredients and the efficacy of the product , thanks for sharing your opinion about 😊❤
I've been using Shiseido only because it's been gifted to me and it works BUT financially sustainable. What Ordinary products can mimic or compare to Shiseido? I do still use my Ordinary peel
I tried it. It wasn’t great. I have dry eczema prone skin. It made my skin dry no matter what moisturizer I used with it. So I stopped using it. Then decided to try again because maybe it wasn’t the serum but something else that made my skin dry. TBH I was using a new moisturizer at the same time I started the serum. Same thing though. Just dry skin and didn’t do much for my skin barrier, redness, etc. I’m willing to give it a third try before I throw it away.
This serum burned my skin. Not for me apparently. I have very sensitive skin with broken capillaries. But the pinky skin after using it was ok for me. The problem was the burning sensation. Not for everyone I guess.
The packaging is not using extensive dyes and inks in the labels and packaging, is not using excessive plastics but is using glass, that is the easiest to recycle. That is a 10 in my book.
Hi, you both are just awesome. I am struggling with white spots on my face. How can I get ride of it? Does retinol help to remove it? Need help, thanks 🙏🏻
I dont really like this on my face cause it pills up a little when i apply other stuff over it, but when my hands have contact dermatitis it is a miracle worker for that

Is it possible that it is giving the oppostite to me? Irritating my skin
@@83loveanimals Depends on your skin, there may be a chance you could be mildly allergic to one of the ingredients
I haven’t even heard of this product! 🤯
love the fact that you rate and tell your experience with the ordinary products. i just bought this serum.
Why can't you use vitamin C with it?
Smart idea to save $$ on packaging ! LOve this product!
Packaging should be simple and inexpensive! And, what most people don't realise is, that fancy packaging doesn't mean better product!
I am surprised how much i like this. I don't think the pink really stays pink very long because i use it immediately before bed and sleep with a white pillowcase and no pink stains it
LOVE THIS SERIES 🎉 please keep doing them!
Thank you for your review. As always trusting in your field of expertise. I just received mine today. ❤
I must admit that at first I felt like I was putting Pepto Bismol on my face 😅
Its not just in there for the color theres a function too
Also this is normally$17, not $14ish is a sale
It’s $13 because there’s a sale, it’s usually 17 us
The Ordinary’s price went up in price because it was bought out by Estée Lauder….Prices have more than doubled. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this product….Susan
I know:(
Like they need more money. So sick of these people.
This stuff is the bomb. Does it need to be part of your every day routine? Probably not, no. But does it help soothe irritated skin? Heck yeah.
Dr Shah your face is so plump n hydrated n looks amazing.. Do a blog on your skincare routine plse
He uses a semen mask
B12 is used for it's anti itching properties.
This serum work so good to my acne scars
I think it only contains 2 percent niacinamide if you're able to tolerate that
Same!!! I was so excited to try it until I heard niacinimide. Every skin care product contains that ingredient now and it’s so irritating.
Yes that and HA which is horrible if you live in a cold dry climate. It’s great living in the south with lots of humidity.
Okay, this just proves it. I’m gonna try it.
Sides effects to nhi honge use krne ke baad
I love this serum. I purchased several bottles during the slow sale.
I had a completely different experience with this serum. It stung my face and made it red. It pilled no matter how or what order I used it. I got through one bottle, just barely, and couldn’t wait to be finished with it.
In my experience, it’s better to not keep using things on your skin if it stings.
Do not use anything that stings your skin. You may either be allergic or have a severely compromised skin barrier. Stick to basic unscented non-comedogenic moisturizers like vaniccream, hydrating toners and essences like corsx snail mucin to repair.
Thanks! Looks like a winner 😊 it's great to get the info before buying something new. Every $ counts.
Could you please give me your thoughts in this Lancome serum? Lancôme
Rénergie H.C.F. Triple Serum
Have you reviewed Mixsoon products? Are they worth it?
I don't care for the package 📦 the most important thing to me are the ingredients and the efficacy of the product , thanks for sharing your opinion about 😊❤
I have been using Shiseido, would you recommend it?
Hi guys, good review thx, I dont like moisturisers cause I feel like I sweat under it ,can I use this instead?
Hi docters ! Using baking powder for removing darkness of the skin (elbows, knees, armfit) is good or not ?
I just love you two! Thank you for all the great advice! This gal (58!) is lookin’ pretty good for her age cuz of you two and Abbey Yung!❤❤❤
Should this be used daily, day and night? I’m currently in the lookout for a serum.
I love the ordinary products and I was so excited for this product. Unfortunately my very sensitive skin reacted and it irritated my rosacea 😢
I’m so glad you liked this, I bought it but haven’t tried it yet.
Do you think this is ok to use for acne prone skin? Thank you ❤
Thank goodness you like it! Just bought 2 bottles!
Hi, what do you think about dermaplaning?
Hi guys have a great weekend 😀
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
This serum burned my skin. Not for me apparently. I have very sensitive skin with broken capillaries. But the pinky skin after using it was ok for me. The problem was the burning sensation. Not for everyone I guess.
A quick google search returned that vitamin B-12 helps maintain the skin’s moisture barrier.
It had me at PINK then you guys had me with your fantastic review!!TY for your work
Isn’t B12 good for collagen production?
I’m loving this serum, it is so good I can’t wait to get my second bottle.
I have eczema and skin barrier problems and I love this
The packaging is not using extensive dyes and inks in the labels and packaging, is not using excessive plastics but is using glass, that is the easiest to recycle. That is a 10 in my book.
I'm glad this was a positive review as I bought the serum last month. I like it so far. I just need to check whether I can use it with acids.
Hi, you both are just awesome. I am struggling with white spots on my face. How can I get ride of it? Does retinol help to remove it? Need help, thanks 🙏🏻
I dont really like this on my face cause it pills up a little when i apply other stuff over it, but when my hands have contact dermatitis it is a miracle worker for that
The instructions say to not use with vitamin c. So do we only use it at night? Before or after tretinoin?
