  • Little food tour of some of my favourite Vietnamese dishes to eat when it's a hot Summer day!
    Hi guys, happy Lunar new year! Wishing all of you a wonderful year of the rabbit/cat filled with good health, good fortune, and a tonne of good food! Sending my best wishes to your family members too :)
    On today's episode, we explore my hometown of Canley Heights in Sydney to check out some amazing Vietnamese dishes that I love to eat in the summertime. These are mainly dry noodles, that tend to have a bit more salad in them which makes them light and refreshing. Have you tried hu tieu nam vang (Phnom Penh noodles) or mi ga da gion (crispy skin chicken with egg noodles) before? Let me know!
    We HAD to end the day with an avocado shake, but that spot also gives free iced tea??? Yeah the boyz
    THANKS FOR WATCHING!

    My uncle used to be in your grade in high school and he recommended this channel. I've been watching almost all of your episode because the quality is so good and relatable. Anyways, there's a new mi ga da gion in bankstown called Tai Ky. You should try it out! It's pretty cheap, cheaper than tan viet and basically same quality. Keep up the good work 👍

    Saw you at fairfield heights b4, can you do a food tour of fairfield heights Kevin? Pho delicious makes a tasty crispy chicken that you wouldnt expect also nice lemongrass chicken and diced beef. Theres alot of nice middle eastern restaurants like fresh shawarma, I go for 1/2 kilo of their beef and top with mayo,chillie garlic sauce. Nineveh has some nice dishes like pulled beef on middle eastern bread and grilled chicken from yannis al basha and annabelas pls review!

    YUNG LEE CAFE AND RESTAURANT was terrible, I order takeaway hu tieu Nam Vang with extra soup I got tiny container $2.00 I order the bone extra $2 which I did not get, portion so small (maybe because I ordered takeaway) I waited a very long time to get my food, I went to ask telling them I've been waiting. All that time the food was on the counter? The food wasn't all that good. I won't be back there.

    Bro you literally order what I order a bunch. The dry egg noodles with a side of crispy chicken. I've never tried it at that place which I definitely should, but I have a couple of recommendations. Since I eat a bunch of that dry egg noodle with crispy chicken, ik in cabra that the Dong Ba in front of the Hot Bread shop and next to the dumpling bar is amazing at making the dry egg noodles with a side of crispychicken. Pho Phung at the tip of John Street shops near Bread top has pretty good ones as well but Dong Ba one is just too good. Also, I told you before but UE Noodles are the best. The amount of flavour in their broth and the im'peck'able duck is amazing. What I recommend most definitely you order is the Soup Egg Noodles with thick noodles and either shredded or whole duck. I personally like shredded cause they put it in the bowl of noodles where all the soup provides a blast of flavour to the duck meat as well as it just being a lot easier to eat off the bone. Also I'd like to add on, Tan Viet chicken is amazing but here's the thing, the noodles are TRASH. SO BLAND. SO FLAVOURLESS. GOSH THE SMELL OF THE RESTAURANT AND THE TASTE OF THE CHICKEN IS ALL TO COVER THE BLAND ASS NOODLES. ALSO, if you are currently reading this, I apologise for the long comment but I'd like to add on. Pearl central was my canley heights childhood memory. I remember my dad always picking the fruit and the taste was amazing, I got so sad when they closed but I remember the sweet tasty fruit juice with what i used to always put, rainbow jelly. Rainbow jelly went so well with the fruit juice. Also, avocado shakes are legit amaze. Been having them since childhood and fun fact, right next to Cafe nho there used to be a place called charcoal chicken where they used to sell like chicken stuff. I remember when I was very young, my mum would get me chicken chippies there, they were fire

    • @SydneyFoodBoy
      @SydneyFoodBoy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Omg I remember the charcoal chicken takeaway shop. I miss it. Canley Heights really has grown since then hey! And PEARL CENTRAL FOREVER!
      I've never tried the crispy chicken at Dong Ba before, I'll try sometime! I always order the BBH there
