- As you may know, updates to any sim are always GAMECHANGING ! , and this one has transformed Assetto Corsa Competizione by introducing one of the world's best tracks to the simulator. The track model is absolutely fantastic, with incredible detail, making it a great addition for existing fans of the simulator. However, the sim still suffers from core issues that Unreal Engine brought with it as well as the baked passenger slides , seamingly weird weird suspension behavoir and the lack of detail for tire slip in the ffb.
For 10 pounds this is a fantastic value DLC given the amount of work and detail that has gone into the track probably offering the best value for people that like to race ACC on LFM , unfortunately this DLC wont convert ACC haters into ACC fanboys.

So great to hear someone honest personal opinion without worrying about losing out on freebies or a ban from a certain isimulator. £10 is a bargain to drive this track and whats more you don’t even have to pay it monthly to enjoy it.
I'll be so glad to see the back of ACC, I love what Kunos did with AC and I've put thousands of hours into it but I'm starting to want something new. I couldn't get myself to even finish a single race in ACC. It's about time the industry woke up to the fact that Unreal is doing more harm than good in a lot of situations. So many games look dreadful and run dreadful.
so having driven all these as well, and NOT being the fastest guy out there (meaning my limit is under the limit of faster racers, so maybe I don't experience physics issues as much as some people), I do thoroughly enjoy ACC with this track. It clearly is the best looking Nordschleife I've ever seen, particularly at night with the parties, lights etc. I also love the lush trees, forests and just the amount of detail that has gone into this track. The god rays coming through the forest in the afternoon and other lighting elements are fantastic and this pips AMS 2 overall graphically. I agree with 100% of what you're saying about the tire model of iRacing. There are some immersive intangibles that this has too. For starters, on a Logitech G Pro, the TrueForce is incredible. It just makes the wheel come alive with the engine noise and vibration and really makes you FEEL like you're driving something with a proper engine. Some other titles support TF, but not as well as ACC does. Anyway, atmospherically ACC comes out on top, but if I have to pick AI and physics I'd still pick AMS 2 or Le Mans Ultimate any time. I love AC, and have all the latest premium mods for graphics and sounds, but there's a lot of hit and miss there, a lack of focus and knowledge that no matter how much you dress it up, the game is just...old. The OTHER problem you didn't mention with ACC is how, after driving LMU, AC, iRacing, or AMS 2, you literally have to re-learn braking to drive ACC because you have to slam the brake to the floor with ABS. The other sims will lock up. Threshold braking just doesn't properly function as a driving style in ACC, and getting used to one sim breaks your technique in the others, and that's a shame.
Ok you don't play ACC and use air fryers instead. Good for you. I too have some reservations about the braking feeling (otherwise the FFB is great on my CSL DD) but I think you are fixating over details and overlooking the great qualities of ACC. What sells ACC in my opinion is the racing experience it delivers. 1) Everything loads in seconds, a few clicks and you're driving. 2) Netcode is good, big grids, easy to find a packed server.. 3) which means basically no boring lonely races, no matter where you are on the grid you'll be battling for position from start to finish. 4) ..and because of the continuous battles, the sounds, the vibrations etc. it gets all very immersive. Ah, and the Nords is amazing to drive on (CSL DD here, mileage may vary). Having said that, I love AC too but when I play ACC it clearly feels a tighter and overall better game.

I got an air fryer as a birthday present. One of the best presents I've ever got and it was a more or less impulse buy of my kids.
But I haven't connected with ACC handling either, I have slightly underpowered system for VR so the handling isn't the main issue anyway. I can wait for the AC2 version of this track even if I think it looks gorgeous.

Drove yesterday for about 2 hours on bigscreen beyond vr at 75hz/fps consistent on vr high setting on 4090 did not see any fps issues. As far as ACC physics not sure if i am just a bad driver but sometimes i am scratching my head why car rando slides a bit it does not happen often but its kind of out of the blue.
yah a 4090 is like a 1500-2k gpu i mean really any game should run 200+ fps lol
About Headech because of sound: Saw in stream you got Weather Sounds up to 100%.
Forgot to mention in stream it gave me headach too so I turned it down to 0. Theres a "Woof Woof" Soundloop in the wind on low frequency. That causes the headache. You wil notice on a day you only played with weather at 0-10%.
Can have some of your mushrooms ?
I have obviously played the aim with different sound settings over the years.
The issue is the engine sounds are ridiculous.

Having recently gone from a G29 to a TS-XW i can confirm that this modest upgrade in hardware made a world of difference to how ACC feels to drive. Nothing on AC obviously but whenever GM complains about how ACC feels to drive (whilst using a DD) I always think "he has no idea how much worse this game can feel"
I tested ACC on t300 G293 , so sadly I am aware.
I remember when starting with Driving Force GT. Was a blast. After getting my DD I gifted it to a friend who only played shooters...-Well one year in he bought himself a DD too and gifted wheel to next person :D :D Sim Racing is just a joy.
Lovely track model. not sure how much I'll drive it in ACC but still worth getting.
So i sat through the video and loved the details that you put into it, but for some reason i feel like there was some more hate left on the table. You gotta let it out man we are here for you, and at the end of part 2 we can all give a sim racer group hug.
I will probably get the new Nord track sometime, whether is will be now at full price of 12 dollars or wait for a STEAM sale which seems to go on quite a bit. Yes, it does look like very good track even though I would probably be terrible at going fast on it. Matter of fact, I have only done a few laps on the Nord in some other games.
I just want to get the Nord track to say I have it along with the other tracks.
Allot of great drivers are racing on the new Nord track today and watching them on "You Tube", they are so fast and way beyond my tiny expertise on this track. i will stick with racing the AI to begin with. i am not a serious racer on any of these games, for me it is just and hour or so of entertainment and doing most the games in VR. I don't do online racing anymore. Don't have the time to practice.

Air fryers are game changing!
Someone actually gifted one to me a few months back and I can cook almost anything in fifteen minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
I was once 'manipulated' into buying the Asetek Hydraulic pedals (from another British TH-camr) that I could never get used to as the brake pedal barely moves two centimeters and then stops moving and measures only pressure. It's like using a brick wall for a brake pedal. Horrendous.
The brand new pedals and the brand new Direct Drive base and wheel I purchased have been collecting dust ever since for thirteen months now. Still mint condition, obviously.
I had no feeling of how much I was braking in the Sim and you can't feel if you are braking at 100% pressure as it doesn't move. Really bad for the old knees.
Despite all this, even I was tempted to set up my Race-Sim Rig for the ACC Nordschleife DLC. But looking at the bottom right side of the screen to see how much I'm braking on every corner gets old very fast.
Get rid of the Invicta pedals, if you don't like them immediately you won't like them. I returned mine and got a set of SimGrade VX-Pro's. MUCH better pedals!

I thought the pedals were so awful that nobody in their right mind would buy these. I didn’t buy the clutch add on pedal as well.
I would feel bad for selling them as they are so awful and expensive.
I don’t know how anyone can recommend them and rate them so highly whilst using the Heisenkveld pedals that are clearly far superior. I know Asetek makes good DD bases and wheels but not pedals.
Who would buy these? They cost me almost £1,000 or £800. I can’t quite remember exactly how much.

@@texnorthman I shouldn’t have spent two months trying to get used to them. I thought I was the mad one for not getting used to them, at first, until I realised that brakes actually do need to move as you apply pressure. I could never be consistent with them.
I have 3300 hours in ACC, but I'm not a fanboy, so I know you're right about everything you said in this video. Except the air fryers, they're also bad. :)

I like ACC, I'm no expert and know there are better optimized games but I have no performance issues what so ever running 1440 triples. As for the driving I get it that is a subjective. I really like it and GT World Challenge uses the title so who am I to argue with the actual platform it is trying to simulate. Love AC and iRacing too, AMS2 is the game where the driving seems a little off to me ? Cheers

GM, I used to think the feeling of grinding a block of wood over blacktop is a good FFB sensation, until you described that as not what FFB should feel like. Ever since, i cant find joy driving in ACC. 😂 Also not a Nord fan going back to Gran Turismo days. I dont have the attention span for it
Might be controversial, but am I the only one that finds regular AC's FFB to be a bit busy and fake feeling? It's like they are trying to convey lots of weight transfer information through the wheel that just shouldn't be there so the cars feel.... wobbly? Not sure how to describe it. I find ACC's force feedback to be much more subtle in that regard while still telling me what I need to know. Could have done with a bit more feedback on front tire grip / more texture, but still. Maybe I just have useless hands 😅
The nice thing is if you think there is too much info you can just add damper or filter to the wheel and remove it , what you are describing sounds like when ffb is "overactive" just fixed with damper and right strength.
I know a few people that use AC with 20+ nm DD wheels and they drive fast cars in real life / use AC because it uses same skills and reactions / inputs as the real car so ffb can't be too active or massively off for them.
@@GamerMuscleVideos I'm going to have to test this a bit more. Do you have a recommended GT3 mod car (or even one of the stock cars) that feels the most "right" in your opinion? I can't claim to like ACC force feedback if I won't put it to the test 😅 I spent some time in AC prepping for the Nordschleife drop and I really couldn't get comfortable with the default GT3 cars, but that could have been a settings issue.
Would be interested to hear what you think of AMS2 on its version of this track
It's better, as simple as that. It has amazing visuals and it drives amazing in VR. One of the best tracks in the game.
AMS2 sucks in driving feel though, a long way behind ACC, let alone AC. looks nice in VR i agree... but feels like shit, very unrealistic driving feel in the weight of the wheel, the ffb, the tyre grip.. its is 15 years behind.

@@kpcart I don't agree at all. Did you try the latest version? The cars feel way more alive than in ACC, it feels quite equal compared to AC depending on the car. Especially the new GT3 Gen 2 cars and the 2024 stock cars are amazing to drive. In the first releases AMS2 felt indeed behind but now it surpassed even ACC and iRacing to me. But to each their own, it's very subjective in the end.
It only took 3 yrs to download ACC on my Commadore 64, can't wait to race Nords in 9 months time.
Interesting perspective. It seems like at a certain point, the perception of physics and realism is subjective. I always find it interesting how varied opinions of even real life professional GT drivers can be. Some are very impressed by ACC and others not so much.
Kunos have done awesome things with this engine, but you are 100% right that this track will be even better served with an updated game engine. AC is still so popular for a reason. If AC2 is done right, it will be a heavy hitter for the next decade. And yes, bring on the mods!
The vast majority of real world drivers I talk to and people that own race cars or are fast in real life they are purity consistent on basically AC1 and RF2 being best home Sims generally most realistic in physics.
You do obviously get a range of people playing and enjoying different games as well depending on what they are looking to get out of the Sims.
Some real world drivers are also utterly clueless when it comes to Sims as they don't really have much intrest in them and just jump on maybe a few hours a year.
Sim-racers are often so desperate for validation of there video game they will put aside any logical or critical thinking to just lap up what X real driver happens to say about there faverate game and then ignore what another real driver says.
Most Sims have quite obvious physics issues , the problem now is when you point them out you have way more brain washed hardcore fans that can't accept those issues , especially if X real world driver says they like X SIM.
@@GamerMuscleVideos Its funny how butt hurt people get when you critique their sim of choice. I get it though and ive been there myself. You attach your ego to that sim, so any attack on that sim is an attack on you. Same thing people do with bands, sports teams, etc. Id say its just something that as a content creator you must accept a side effect of the human condition lol
Where the diversity of opinions in stems from in my opinion comes down to many factors, but chief among them id say, aside from hardware and force feedback settings etc, is the way the brain perceives the stimuli the simulation is providing. It seems that certain folks resonate more with Iracing, and others with AC, while others would say its RF2. They all present the experience of racing a bit differently.
I will say that no sim has come close to AC in terms of the feeling of the car, but these days I play Richard Burns Rally exclusively. Its awesome over there. Simrallyfans has done wonderful things to keep that sim alive and the community is awesome. Every time i venture away from it I am disappointed. Dont even get me started about rally games these days. Theyre terrible. And rest that includes the new WRC title. Its an arcade game.

Normally don't comnent, however I agree with most of your opinions with physics except the original AC, I got a Moza R9 and I can't figure out the settings so it feels good, so I have been enjoying a lot of ACC, even through all the limitations of Unreal.

This is probably the best version of this track out there at the moment. Especially at night you get a real sense of occasion. It's just one big party were there also happens to be white knuckle racing going on.
I'm not that difficult to please when it comes to physics in sims so to me ACC feels good. But again I'm a filthy casual to the bone. I think the FFB in ACC is pretty great as well(using a T818). It's certainly different from other sims but it works pretty wel IMO.
The thing that kills it for me though is VR performance. It's way better then it used to be on my 7900XTX but it's still not great. Doing solo hotlaps is no problem but to get a good framerate in races with a pack of cars I have to lower the settings to a point were the fidelity really suffers.
The problem is ACC has input delay some sort of weard lag to everything ( played it on tons of rigs and simulators and have 3 pcs at home)
It also has no dynamic range / subtality to the ffb it's like there is internal clapping for low frequency FFB ( again played on tons of different rigs and every wheel on market)
So track model might be great but the fundamental game engine it's in is massively flawed for the basic component of driving compared to AMS1, AC 1
As you point out the VR is also pants due to the performance and lack of forward rendering.

I hate it when TH-camr's spurt total marketing crap about sub-standard content, then you pay out hard-earned money and the results are not what have been told in videos.
I'm an adult, money doesn't grow on trees. Tell it as it is, then I can decide regardless. This was always going to be a day one purchase for me, so much more of a challenge than iRacing IMHO. I think if you can handle ACC Nord, you would likely lap the track in a real GT3 without crashing lol... brutal, but enjoyable too.
Keep up the honesty James, zero point sitting on a fence. I bought EA WRC despite me believing they'd ruin Rally forever, I was right, garbage game - so I come here and want honesty. Gr8 work...

The truth behind this video is just as amazing as air fyrers, I’ve recently become more of a AC1 fan with finding quality mods and not just graphic replicas that don’t perform realistically and I can’t wait for someone to mod this into AC1 so I can drive the M3 GTR at night thanks @gamermusclevideos for the honest opinion cause I was hesitant with picking up this DLC with how ACC handles

i tried acc on direct drive (moza r12 and simagic alpha mini), the ffb still feel worse than rf2 gt3 cars on t300.

I still enjoy driving gt cars on AC rather than on ACC, for me nothing can beat Ac's ffb/physics on those cars

I enjoy the ring and whilst I'm kinda over GT3 cars, I like the GT2s and GT4s quite a bit.
This was enough for me to spend a tenner, despite pretty much dumping ACC a couple of years ago.
After spending a couple of hours setting up my DD wheel, haptics and motion platform, ACC still sucks For Me.
VR still looks shit (though after going to a 4090 it runs OK) & FFB still feels terrible to me stood next to pretty much any other sim.
But, it's a great DLC and for anyone who is racing in ACC I think they're going to be very happy.
£10 was a steal of a price

I'm one of those insensitive people GM goes on about. Whichever sim I jump in starts to feel completely natural after 10 or 20 minutes even if it felt completely off to begin with. I can't really tell which is best, they're all just different to me. Unsurprisingly, I'm average at best at everything, unfortunately.
Unless you have a motion rig, VR, auto smell-o-vision and actually know what an actual race car drives like IRL then it doesn't matter at all. Enjoying yourself is what counts.

I used to say the exact same things as GM, however I think it is slightly better now than he gives it credit. I always hated ACC, but still played a lot as the racing was great. I think GM is a little bit stuck in the pre 1.9 patch days.
Passenger slides, wierd bottoming behavour, bad curb physics, delayed feedback... Its just a terrible simulator engine this UE4.
The 1.9 patch made it a little bit less binary feeling for passinger slides and added more ffb detail I think for suspension and maybe some other stuff.
Non of the updates have addressed the fundamental physics issues , it's the same as iracing they have done lots of band aid changes and tweaks but the way you have to drive is the same as 15 years ago.
Not really a surprise unless there is a fundamental physics re-write and fundamental engine change games generally end up playing in specific ways.
@@GamerMuscleVideos You need to turn "Steering Ratio" down to 0° ( this prevents the FFB Lag ) and use in Fanatec software correct steering ratio for every car.- Plus sweet Lord turn in game damping down to 0 and roads effects up to 10%. No wonder you don´t feel the great ACC FFB. Set in Fanatec Software FFB - 100, FFS - LINEAR, NDP - 25%, NFR + NIN + INT = Off, FEI 7 or 6, FOR + SPR + DPR = 100. And Yes even afterwards AC1 hast best FFB. Only car matching it in ACC is BMW TCX. Dunno why. But its still great.

ACC Where VR Graphics are dog, but also FFB in VR helps the most (for me personally ^^) Also Air Friers are the best and most life changing addition to my absolutely high quality Sim Rig of a FFB Wheel with two wooden slobs holding it to a table o.o)

I really like the physics in ACC but I'm a real novice and have only dabbled in other sims so I don't speak with any authority! My beef with this video is that you didn't review the grass quality, for shame GM :(

I just still think unreal doesn’t work well in sims. I haven’t played acc in a few years I guess it was always a blurry mess.
Since you’ve talked about the price, there are still players on ps4 like myself and the dlc are not cheap. Kunos totally forgot about the ps4 players we’re still on 1.7.2 I mean since they are not supporting the ps4 anymore why not drop the prices, if I could afford to upgrade to nextgen I would
FMS 2023's ring is far more detailed. All the crowds on the side are actually 3d and animated, fireworks going off, lighting and weather is next level. This is great too don't get me wrong played it quite a bit last night but when it comes to graphics forza is king.
ys but forza isnt actually identical to the real track and its surroundings while the acc version is like 98% exact
Fried air sounds a bit too low calorie for me.
So as a beginner sim racer who wants most realistic simulation, what should I use 😂 this community is so confusing. Shoud I just use regular AC?
AC ,AMS1 are the most realistic to drive , but you can use all the Sims to get good at driving and being able to understand each SIM and be good at driving them all would only really help in understanding car handling.
Just don't expect a real car to behave or want to be driven in the same way as you play lots of Sims.
GamerMuscle must be getting paid by someone for all these positive comments about air fryers.
there was one time when acc was feel good it was 0.7v and some firmware of accuforce but after that ffb was again shit.
I'm taking 2024 to "decide" where to drive onward. I was using a lot ACC up to 2023. Now I'm using LMU. I'm also using iRacing ang going back to ACC. I think iRacing is good for many things but man, not the car handling at limit. It feels it's the result of coding, patching patching, patching, patching...and eveyone lost the plot how it got so bad. GM's thing is putting sims down just as much as other YT's thing is being fanboys of whatever sim is their favorite. Full disclosure I only sim with a vr headset so obviously ACC sucks for me cause i don't have 4090 super computer..
No my thing is pointing out obvious issues that fundamentally impact a video game VR headset / thing I'm reviewing from the perspective of having been using this stuff for 20+ years and also doing 100+ hours of live streams every week.
But sure if a majorty of people are vapidly posative becuse it generates more money and is just esear then any person thats even slightly critical will obvously then be some hater due to the overton window of whats acceptable to talk about and say.
Its like how if someone suggests anything vaguely socialist politically , like addressing wealth inequality by taxing people earning over 500k a year then they are labelled a communist or socialist when what they are suggesting in reality is really quite mild and would be well within 1960s conservatism.
fun fact that coming from pc to ps4 i did try gt sport with t500 wheel and I got a surprice that ffb its way better then any sims on pc 😂😂😂 btw im using 25nm wheel on pc and feels smoth but ffb is shity

Bro speak the truth, please. Look I enjoy iracing only because of the multiplayer.. in all honesty yea iracing has two things wrong for me and yes its super expensive.. I own a small fleet of freight trucks so in the end yea I can afford it but I'll Still come out and say iracing is just expensive but honesty it's too expensive for what it is.
I was on ACC in the beginning when I started building my rig and upgrading my parts to what I have now and yea even with my current equipment 😅 idk ACC just feels like there's way to much weight almost as if these cars just don't have suspension to shift that weight over effectively.

I tried ACC again recently because I got a Quest2. Hmm. The VR is pretty bad and the driving wasn't convincing. Back to AC for me, still easily the best, all things considered.

I don't see this version going to AC1 (as that game already has its own version), BUT... I definitely see this (in some refactored form) heading to ACE (whether it will be available for early access launch or come later down the road), Kunos would be crazy NOT to bring this to their new upcoming baby. As for wanting influencers to always giving praise, I can't speak for anyone else, but I can say that I wouldn't want you to wear rose shaded glasses. We are inversed in the sense that I much prefer ACC's physics to AC's. But to each their own I suppose. In the end, I appreciate you not sugar coating what you don't like. But don't worry either way.. apparently ACE will have a completely new physics engine that won't have Unreal getting in the way, so I have high hopes if it means better handling that either ACC or AC!
