I like the attention to detail with the crowds and the stuff the crowds bring with them (tents, campervans etc). Those little details really add up to make for a more immersive experience.
You can turn right and go the GP track, for the first lap of quali you dont need to go the whole nords, just the GP and you get a fresh lap when you pass. Same if you mess up the GP track at any lap, just go the GP again.
Kunos also released a free update to the base game v1.10 which improves damper behavior. It helps cars cope with curbs on all tracks. Old setups still feel good and the suspension histograms on MOTEC look similar to how they looked in v1.9.
ACC has had some amazing updates in the last months. Idk how long it's been since you've played it. I used to have issues with it too. Now I say the same thing. It's smooth and responsive. Adding the Green Hell def brought me back to ACC.
Lexus I heard is the car to drive as it has set the fastest recorded lap in acc with a sub 8 minute lap helped along with speed on main straight doing 290 and all others only managing 280-285 top speed and the night atmosphere with the lights is amazing detail
Lots of lovely detail around the track with the crowds. The tarmac looks a little uniform and smooth, like it’s been fully resurfaced. Not been there for a few years, so it may be that way in real life now.
Yes you’re right, there was a recent resurfacing of the tarmac. Do give Misha Charoudin’s review on this track a watch, dude lives and breathes the nordschleife in real life, and he mentioned that even small patched surfaces are in the game.
ACC needs to copy the iRacing system for crowds, so that they look more real as you drive past. The iRacing ones look just as horrendous if you stay in one spot and look at them, but when you are racing by, they look more believable since they actually turn to keep watching you as you drive past.
I have bought this DLC 2h after it became available. No single regret, it's huge thing, done with amazing attention to details. I cannot agree with you Dave when you're saying the cars drive in a weird way. Maybe you should try some never cars like BMW M4? That Lexus is pretty old and may not be fully updated to the improved tyre model (dampers especially) they had to introduce for Nords.
This is the best track they have done in ACC for me and even cars drives so better than before not far fro Asseto corsa i really love it even stoped playing Le Mans ultimate
Well Dave, having driven the NordS myself in RL I can confirm, that cars and also Motorbikes can and do loose contact to the tarmac at various locations. Depends an how fast you are 😁
6 AM is quite amazing! Btw I've reduced some of the shadow drawing distance issues by reducing shadow level to high but for sure there is something wrong there!
@@davecamyt ah fair enough. I started sim racing on ACC so anything else feels weird now! A lot of that understeer will go with tyres in the right pressure range. I wish ACC wasn’t so specific with the tyre pressures

No night laps? You're missing out! That track is a different animal at night (with all the coloured spot lights waving in the air like they just don't care). It's quite festive!
0:12 Have you tried LFM for online racing? I understand it's closer to the iRacing experience than the built-in online experience. I have not tried LFM; so, it'd be nice to hear your thoughts on it. I've invested enough money into iRacing, and just don't see myself putting enough time into ACC to make another upgrade worthwhile.
Though not a racer I have done the Nordschleife 10 seconds off the 5:19 in the modified 919 Porsche hybrid (same track and timing). I do love driving but don't seem to have the patience for racing and moving through the ranks...maybe one day when I mature...currently just 67 years of age. Hate the way benchmarks keep moving because they keep changing the track and thus the timing at Nordschleife. Not to put iRacing down as it's a very popular and amazing platform (which I do plan to jump into someday within a year or so) and I love watching people like Dave race on it, but for me, the visuals are very very important in gaming. In fact I buy many games that I know I will never play,, just so I can see the improvements in visuals and design being in the various games and game engines. In my mind the visuals even in a hectic white knuckle trip around Nordschleife or an all out battle in the Battlefield series of FPSs. As a gamer since the mid 90s, I have always dreamed of a level of immersion found when the gaming world was almost indistinguishable from the real one. :D Oh....in some places, if going fast enough, some or all of the tires are in fact OFF the ground. I wonder as well if, some of your opinion is more a matter of being very used to a particular SIM? :D Love the videos Dave, and thank you so much for the hours of entertainment. Cheers!
The physics on ACC when the car leaves the ground have always felt a little off to me, like when going over kerbs. It's just a little more exaggerated at the nords
8:24 is really slow to be honest. I'm an idiot and can lap the Nordschleife in 8:14-8:16 with 60L of fuel. The esport pros do the same thing in 8:05 or less. With a bit more practice Dave will drive faster than me.
My first outing was 9.58.6 in Ginetta G55 GT4.... what a fab track ;) As for the jumps, you are airborne so of course you're not in contact with the track ?
Thanks Dave! Curious what resolution you were running on your display for this lap? Been having a heck of a time getting my screen resolution looking good on my triples. Thanks!
There is some granularity between the frames in ACC that is really unconfortable for me. Don't know exactly why, but this is like a every time reminder that you are in a game and is much less engaging... for me.... Amazing drive Dave!!
Although clearly not a sim you're fond of, it's good to see a balanced and unbiased appraisal of ACC's Nordschleife. As far as weather/rime of day goes... Overcast looks the best in ACC imo, very life-like.

AI is great for practice but they are easily beatable and very predictable once you learn their behavior. Barring Internet problems I don’t understand why anybody today would prefer competing with AI instead of Humans.
@Werferharfer Hu, Thanks for the reply. That helps me understand a little, some people prefer the flexibility of AI Racing. My comment was just considering realism, I've been racing for over 20 years and I haven't seen realistic AI yet. So my assumption would be real people to race with are likely closer to racing in real life. AI is certainly getting better but yes, it has a way to go.
The online side of things. I just found a lot of drivers to be too aggressive. I don't mind safe aggressive driving but I was getting super frustrated . That's pretty much it
One thing that really annoys me about the graphics in this game is the shadow distance, on the barriers and some of the trees, even at epic the draw distance is too close. Really annoying.
All those people just came out because they heard Dave Cam was doing a lap of the circuit…..
You need to do a night race. The crowd and lights and parties going on. It truly looks amazing. There is even firepits in the crowd.

Kudos to kunos. The level of detail is incredible. Such a shame with unreal engine limitations, hoping AC2 brings the fire
The QR code is a teaser for Assetto Corsa EVO. Scan it with your QR reader (Cell Phone). Novel idea and I like it.
They captured the crowds for the 24h race quite well
Dave try I few laps at night time. The lighting is spectacular.
Came here to comment this! Don’t play ACC but I had a feeling the night lighting would be good on this with all the track side detail.
I also can agree. The drive at night and into the night is stunning to say at least.
The kerb physics work properly when we're not running the car in a constant squat. 70mm min ride heights been a nice change up in car feel.
Yeah I've got to try this
I think the original assetto corsa feels better at the limit to me. Great channel
Kunos also released a free update to the base game v1.10 which improves damper behavior. It helps cars cope with curbs on all tracks. Old setups still feel good and the suspension histograms on MOTEC look similar to how they looked in v1.9.
nice lap Dave, agreed, great effort by Kunos.
I've managed to sneak into the broadcast split for this weekends 505 x LFM N24 in the big Bentley
Best sounding car. Mr Dave Cam, how very dare you. The Aston V12 is the only sound you need in ACC. Great video as always.
