I've finally completed Persona 3 Reload. I'd live to give some insight on who I think the best party members are.

shinji was by far the most fun character to use while we had him for me. was spoiler free so i basically spent all my money giving him the best possible stuff and immediately ended up feeling done so dirty
I never played the original but I knew most of the big story moments before actually playing reload, I knew he was gonna "Leave SEES" and I shouldn't play as him much, but he was the most fun character in the game and i couldn't not use him
You can get the equipment you gave him back if you go into his room before finishing your playthrough.
I gave him mjolnir lol
I even gave him several incenses I loved him so much. I was so ready to carry him to the late game. But I don’t regret any of it because it made the story hit that much harder combined with just my love for him as a character.

I wasnt spoiled because of Shinji and till it happened he was my favorite party member. I played him with Mitsuru and Yukari and tried to buff/debuff the first Turns and then hit hard with his Theurgy. It was so fun I one shotted like every Monard Door Boss at the time he was available.... RIP Goat
A part of me hoped that there was some way to save him like in P3P, but at the same time, it goes against everything his character stands for does if he does live and it sucks that there’s nothing that can be done to get both him surviving while his character has the same level of meaning and integrity.
@@normalpersonlivingtheirlife Yes I like and understand the decision for his character. I only spoke for him as a party member. So far I think with his death, he is my favorite Character from P3, but Im only at the end of October and have some gameplay left to finally decide, but I think at least he will be up there somewhere.
lol, same. i just got access to Shinji a few days ago. started using him and thought he was pretty OP, so i got both of his combat characteristics and used a bunch of strength incense on him, thinking him/yukari/mitsuru were gonna be my party til the end aaaaaaand… 😭
Akihiro got whacked hard with the nerf bat haha, he was indispensable in FES

@@amenoma9648 Yup. Akihiko was the best team member for debuffing enemies in FES. Ken has Debilitate now instead. They REALLY buffed Ken up compared to FES, as was Junpei. The two of them are much more viable now.

Junpei went from Zero to Hero in Reload. The character skills he gets (by bonding with him in the dorm) is actually nuts.
My first clear on Merciless: Yukari, Mitsuru and Akihiko but I used Junpei on some bosses that aren't immune to slashes.
Mitsuru becomes pretty OP with Theurgy Deabilitate and Akihiko is just there for debuffs and since I don't really have any persona that had Lightning Skills.
but the endgame is kinda open for everyone. I'm planning to use Amada, Junpei and Koromaru on my next playthrough cause I heard good things about them

His STR stat alone was bonkers early on. And the dude is a crit machine. I only bench him because his personality is annoying

@@shanecash7582 Personally i used : Brave blade / vile Assault / Gigantic fist / vorpal blade (so he can do try to crit even if slash immune) / agidyne (no maragidyne if multiple ennemies are weak to fire he downs one and give turn to MC or even koromaru if you are using him) / high counter / regenerate 3 (didn't use it that muchtbh especially i got trismegistus) / Shift boost -- looking back at it i would have put marakukaja instead of regenerate 3 to lift some weights off of aigis shoulders (my team was mitsuru / junpei / aigis) (Dragon boots / omega drive - last sword that i forgot the name of to get apt pupil)
Pairing him with a very fast mitsuru and having him super fast but slower than mitsuru made them two man pretty much any mob group as mitsuru would inflict ailment with either neuroslash / eerie sound or diamond dust on single target and greatly increase his chance to crit on top of all the reste :D
I’m always picking Yukari with me since her healing skills can sync with her theurgy well.
Koromaru is by far another first pick as well since he can auto eva/acc reduce enemies and it allows me to melt golden hands with little issues.
Ken is arguably my first pick since even though he does not sync well with his theurgy, his overall skill usages is still a great choice.

@@ManuPlays05 I prefer letting MC focus on Damage since they generally pump out the most possible damage at any given point in the game past midgame, and since Yukari can also pump out full heals of the party for only a fraction of the sp cost while also curing ailments and dealing good damage, she's a must have

He's now the new Akihiko, the Jack-Of-All-Trades who is great at everything.
He’s really no that good, he has one of the less sp usage and his skills are all magic
Still average tbh, encourages a really defensive playstyle + is a boring character
I find him the most fun, and him on defence allows everyone else to go full offence way safer thanks to his walls. God I love his second theurgy

Thanks for the information. My team in FES was MC,Yukari,Akihiko, and Mitsuru. It’s good to see Koro and Ken get some deserved buffs because those light and dark skills they had on FES were useless unless used on mobs. Pretty good review I’m going to experiment and roll with a new team.
Something to clarify since the games description of it is just wrong, but Akihikos Theurgy bonus IS NOT when he buffs himself. He gets a bonus every time he starts a turn while already buffed. A much MUCH better condition than whats actually written there

Everything about Akihiko's unique characteristics are so horrendously misworded in-game for some reason. Makes him sound super underwhelming on paper when he's actually pretty strong.
He also gets bigger bonuses from the stat boosts, this along with having elec boost and amp makes his theurgy spam insane. One of the best and most slept on characters honestly

Purpose Of Skills
Gives your Thunder Reighn 115% boost passively and icreases its damage more than 2 times thanks to Concentrate. Null Phys makes Messiah have atleast resistance to every element. Lastly decreases cost of everything by half with Spell Master.
How to Obtain
To get this build you fuse Odin and Inugami to make Mot. You pass Thunder Reighn, Concentrate and Elec Amp to Mot. Then you make Thanatos. Fuse Thanatos and Orpheus to make Messiah and pass the aforementioned 3 skills to him. You can get Elec Boost from chests that require twilight fragments on early floors. You can get Single-Target Boost guaranteed from floor boos chests that require twilight fragments. You can get Spell Master from antique shop. Lastly Messiah learn Magic Ability and Null Phys by level up.
I did something similar but with fire its pretty damn good
you can also put concentrate on a different persona to save a skill slot and put null dark on him

I basically did the same thing but with ice. Also replaced Magic Ability with Enduring Soul since Lucifer's Blade gives Magic Ability now so it's kind of a dead skill.
in regards to the belief of ken being a healer, it's more so how he was in the older versions of P3 where the only notable difference is a subjective choice between a healer who can cure status ailments or a healer who can hit better as Ken had spear master and could put in some a offensive work. in reload they did make him less of a healer as they gave him less heal skills to trade off having acess to bless skills and passives which makes him to be more of an all-arounder then previous
Imo being weak to dark was also much easier to ignore than being weak to electricity. Yukari is probably ultimately better than Ken in fes and portable, but I've often found Ken easier to use.
Junpei, Ken, & Koro in your party just melts virtually everything in their way. Ken's ult is literally FFXIV's Heal LB3 + Five Elements in the Dx2 mobile game, and in-between those he has heat riser and reflects. Koromaru debilitates stuff while his ult is a party wide Best Friends, which synergizes with Junpei and the MC with Akasha Arts. And Junpei? I went through both Jin and Takaya's fights with the dude doing nothing but crit. In the Nyx fight he one shot every arcana until the one that nulled phys skills.
I think the only issue with akihiko is that late game (lvl 70+) he just gets outpaced by mc in terms of damage. And he wants to be played as the main carry. For the majority of the game he felt great it was only the last 1 and a half sections of tartarus that he felt replaceable. An interesting idea would actually be a full magic team making use of yukaris theurgy with mitsuru and akihiko as akihiko actually has the third highest magic stat (assuming it's the same as fes) and both elec amp and elec boost.
Yeah he’s definitely still strong
My only issue with Akihiko was that by the end of the game he was simply far too frail. Mitsuru had less Endurance than he did and yet she’d survive getting hit by basically anything, while Akihiko just kept dying over and over. Hell, I was tempted to leave him dead during the Reaper fight since he was just free turns for it, but decided he needed the EXP. Honestly, Mitsuru, Yukari and Ken might just be the best team, with Junpei, Koromaru and Aigis being not far behind against anything vulnerable to Phys. Poor Akihiko man, went from one of the single best in the team to dead weight.
@@reaperofthings ok but that’s kinda what happened to me. Idk if he was weak to pierce or something but during the lovers shadow fight he died twice via holy arrow. Besides the mc (died cus they charmed everyone and we all killed each other), nobody else died.
He def helped with his attack down debuff, but couldn’t do much damage compared to mc, Junpei, and Yukari. He was 2 levels behind, but it’s not like his next skill was a higher damage move either.
Maybe he was really that low leveled cuz we might all have been. I was consistently underleveled compared to the average since I do Tartarus like twice a month in game.
As I reach endgame I've found that Akihiko, Koromaru, and Ken work really great as a team I'm thinking of going into the final boss with this set up too.
I just got to October and was think pretty much like your with my party comp. I swapped aigis with Aki personally but I can understand it. I was very on the fence of benching aki for koromaru and now I feel like I should do it. Thank you
People are sleeping on Junpei. On the surface it doesn't look like he brings much to the table but his damage potential is insane. His Theurgy synergizes well with his kit as he can spam moves (with crits) and then Theurgy himself back to full. He's an incredibly powerful, self sufficient damage dealer. I unlocked his ultimate weapon (which gives him apt pupil) and his upgraded characteristic gives him him crit boost/amp and the man never misses at least 1 crit with Vorpal Blade. He outdamages the rest of the team (save for MC) easily.
My team for final boss was Yukari, Junpei, and Aigis.
For real though, Junpei is truly HIM in this game it's insane.
Save all the people missing in Tartarus and you get an accessory with Apt Pupil which just makes him even more insane. Give him the weapon that gives him crit amp and you got a MONSTER

Junpei just takes too long to properly get going. When people put him towards the bottom, it doesn’t mean that he’s bad, it just means that the other broken characters in P3Reload are better. Every character is extremely strong by the time Junpei gets going, so deciding how good characters are based on the (very) late game is a flawed assessment.
No character in P3Reload or P4 is truly bad. You can make any party work in both games, it’s just that others are better.

In FES, I primarily used Aigis, Ken, and Koromaru because that specific comp had a max of one weakness (Aigis with electricity) since there wasn't an option to gaurd. They were also my personal favorite characters
In portable, I chose Akihiko, Mitsuru and Aigis because I was more confident in the members with direct controls. I also wanted a different team comp from what i had in FES
For Reload, I plan to definitely use Yukari and Junpei (because i haven't used them in a team in a P3 game before) and most likely Aigis because that'll mark her as the P3 member I've kept in my final team from every game

Theurgy farming goes hard.

I cleared a decent amount of Tartarus using those 3, Mitsuru and Junpei are such a killer combo. I swapped Junpei for Koromaru later on, as I liked Koromaru's innate de-buff characteristic. I also gave Koromaru a weapon that gave him a temporary crit boost, that combined with distress ailments (from Ambush attacks) and Mitsuru in the party (plus him always being first in the turn order) was a pretty lethal combo. With him getting nearly guaranteed crits and then shifting to everyone else just destroyed regular encounters.
Debilitate and heat riser are too useful. Ken and koro are a must
Facts
Heat riser isn’t that great unless you’re soloing or your entire team is basically dedicated to support one party member. Aigis will service you a lot better as a buffer. Debilitate, on the other hand, is one of the best skills in the game and is always useful for bosses.

@@yassin9782 unfortunately aigis got mega nerfed by losing one of the mass buffs. In the original she could keep the buff rotations constantly going and now thats not possible they force you to use her as a dps in the remake

Shinji was my favorite. Man, if you combine Koromaru’s dmg buff theurgy + shinji’s dmg and crit buffs + his theurgy, you can one shot bosses. Not only that, but his crit aoe dmg was insane too.
My final team for my first playthrough was Ken, Koromaru, and Aigis, since then aigis and koro could cover buffing with attack, defense and agility as needed, Ken covered any healing and barriers, koro could cover debilitate, and that still left my team with 2 very solid magic dealers and aigis to wipe the floor with physical damage. And of course Makoto could cover anything else in terms of support or damage output.
Yukari having Heals and highest Ma stat on the entire gang is already insane enough , and they give her that second theurgia on top of it is just overkill.

Yes!! Her being given wind amp and her ultimate weapon giving her auto concentrate as well being able to equip a wind boost accessory, her theurgy can hit over 10k with the right set up!!
The new mechanics make mitigation way more optimal than ever before it seems. Love that in comparison to how easy it was to steam roll in royal
i love how good Yukari is as a healer but also for offense as well. Shes has been in my party since day 1

For me personally, I’ve only gotten to August and Floor 91 of Tartarus, so I haven’t used Koromaru, have gotten Ken, and the GOAT of Persona characters is still here, but I love using Mitsuru because of her defence debuff and her mass distress move (I got lucky and got Apt Pupil+crit rate boost from a fusion so now any Persona that has good Strength is a monster), Yukari because she gets fucking Spell Master but for healing skills which synergies well with my dumbass mashing Herculean Strike whenever I can, and I haven’t decided on my last spot but I’ll probably use someone who gets either Heat Riser or debilitate or whatever fits my needs
Also one small detail about Mitsuru’s review is that her Combat Condition increases the parties crit rate on statused enemies, so you can just try to play as an Uber status/dubuffer+dps rather than just dps, which would allow you to still provide use even against ice block enemies. And if it’s that big of a problem, well you have 12 persona slots, surely you can dedicate one of them to an element breaker?
I agree, Yukari and Ken were my staples! Especially Ken's late game weapon which grants him mental ailment immunity. Ken also has Heat Riser and healing, and I still kept semarecarm. His 2nd Theurgy is too OP tbh especially in boss battles but you gotta time it right. I just equipped him with a Null Dark accessory and he is good to go. I had Mitsuru as my third team mate and yeah she did need a lot of setting up with Def shred and Concentrate but her 2nd Theurgy with Debilitate was a great addition to my team - especially with Yukari's magic damage buff
I had my MC focus on Dark and Physical and unlocking Messiah felt like a cheese but it is what it is lol
I agree with every placement, but endgame Aigis is better than Mitsuru, Ken and Koromaru just because of how insane Resist Phys, Enduring Soul and Insta Heal is.

Her lack of elemental skills kinda screws her over however. Ken and Koromaru have coverage in 3 elements and have good support/healing skills on top of that. Not to mention their theurgies are so much better than Aigis'.
ive found yukari/mitsuru/aigis to be the best for bosses because they just have clearly defined roles that they do well at. But when exploring Tartarus I run Junpei and Koromaru over Yukari and Aigis because I just want to click multi-target physical moves with a crit-stacking Persona from Makoto and those two are the best at getting crits to baton pass into Makoto
I love how they changed up all the characters in the game and made them all viable since ESPECIALLY ken and koromaru were not useful In the older versions. I find using ken in reload is great if you want to play it safe since his theurgy res/heals/and casts barriers. But his theurgy takes a sec for it be cast since of his requirements and ken uses alot of sp from all his skills. As well as ken support skills are mostly for single targets. Idk I always found having two healers a bit redundant in the party since it's just overkill, but Yukari excels with sp management, support, and offense. The other party members all have group wide kaja or kunda skills so all of them can really benefit and boost the party up. Yukari 2nd theurgy can boost the whole party with concentrate, so pretty much everyone who has an element except aigis and shinji, would be able to dish out even more massive damage especially those without concentrate like akihiko and koromaru. I loved being able to mix and match but i found having Yukari mitsuru and akihiko my favorite to use since they can all synergize the best with eachother and be able to clear tartarus floors relatively with ease. Still there's so many variations you can assemble since overall every party member is useful, ken is just incredibly safe but i would say doesn't stand out as much compare to the others for damage output and group wide buffs.

I've been using the og FES team, Yukari-Aigis-Akihiko, im at the end of October, and i can already feel Aki falling behind, and now im building Koromaru to swap Akihiko, him plus my Sigfried with AutoRebellion, Aigis and Yukari, tf enemies gonna do LMAOOO
I've been running Koro, Ken, and Yukari using a self auto buffed Siegfried with slash boost and amp, auto matarukaja and auto rebellion, great crit boost and charge with vorpal slash and the severe slash single(forgot name). Debilitate into charged slashed has dropped bosses instantly unless they resist or immune. The highest hit yet was 10050 damage, which I didn't know if the game had 9999 max damage or not until then 😂. Best part of this is Im not using endgame gear yet as I've kinda farmed reaper using this setup and everyone is at 99 before even getting Shinji into group.
i legitimately dont understand how people play without yukari in the party. shes one of the best healers ive used in any rpg.

@@megaspacewaffles i felt that ken was better suited as either a backup if yukari ran out of sp (which hardly happened) or as a complimentary piece with yukari if a boss was giving me trouble. The rest of his utility feels wasted if hes the only healer in the party. plus yukari plus crit bow goes hard.
My old in fes team is yukari, akihiko, and mitsuru cus the spread of element and attack but with dark and element addition from p5, its really bring ken and koromaru to its shine. But now my main is yukari, mitsuru and aegis and sometime do party switch just to have fun and i think reload really give so much easy way to lvl up party member

I like Shinji, Koromaru, and Ken which is weird because I rarely used them in FES. 2 debilitates in case an enemy buffs its team and heat riser. MC is always my main damage dealer anyway. Koro auto-debuffing accuracy/evasion for the first 3 turns is great too. Mitsuru, Ken, and Koromaru late game. Having to use ice break again some enemies is annoying, but she can fill up her theurgy gauge really fast and her first theurgy is an ice attack that pierces resistance. Concentrate also affects theurgy skills, so toss that in while building up her gauge and she does even more damage.

Does Aigis learn party evasion buff like in fes or does she learn something else instead? I'm trying to decide my third slot for end game and I know I want Yukari and Aigis. But I can't decide between koromaru or Akihiko. Thunder god or Dog?
I use Aigis/Yukari/Koromaru and i will never change. Aigis hits like a tank, Yukari is the perfect healer and Koromaru is there for headpats
If you can get ambush stutus ailments landed alot on your enemies and get Junpei's agility up a bit, he shines dude. He's a critical beast.
Is depend on your playstyle mostly on how you built your Makoto like if you built him support and rely on others team member damage like Akihiko, Mitsuru and Junpei you can go for a team like:
-Junpei; Koromaru; Amada/Aigis for Junpei Hyper carry with Koromaru constantly debuffing the enemy and Amada/Aigis for buff/poke-damage and Makoto focus on Healing and status cure the same go for the other two (Mitsuru and Akihiko)
but if you go Makoto main Damage dealer the best team is Yukari; Amada and Koromaru
my party for endgame ended up being yukari, junpei and aigis. i had insta heal accessory on yukari for obvious reasons and as for junpei i gave him an accessory with apt pupil which made him crit like crazy. this combined with asura with gods hand and strike amp with crit rate amp, boost, bloody charge and apt pupil led to a nyx fight that ended rather fast on hard difficulty at level 89. not to mention i used Armageddon on him, it was too tempting to pass up lol. honestly even without Armageddon i feel like final phase would have ended quick because fuuka kept charging and concentrating the whole party and theurgys were dealing like 2000 damage per hit along with the crits from asura and junpei , theurgys are kinda busted in this game. doing a merciless run now and so far its much harder but its still early game so its possible it could get easier later on due to having better skills and such.
If you're going to use Junpei, he's probably best with Koromaru. The accuracy buff/debuff plus revolution sets junpei up for hitting and critting in a way that he can't accomplish on his own. I'm not sure if the devs meant for this to be some kind of callback to the fact they worked together in the answer, but it really doesn't make sense at all why junpei can't do anything to help his own theurgy.
I mean, his personality gives him innate Apt Pupil, so he does have something, but I agree about him and Koromaru, they are fucking Beasts together, especially since Junpei only gets singler target fire skills and Koromaru only Multi-target ones, they really do complement each other.
I went with Yukari, Aigis and Koromaru, opting for a very physical playstyle. Koromaru's Theurgy helped buff Aigis and whatever physical attacking personas the protagonist had, and I kept Revolution on Koromaru to boost crits. Combining that with Apt Pupil and Crit Rate Up on some of the personas I fused, I was dealing crits with protagonist every 2 or 3 turns. Yukari was the staple healer too, and her second Theurgy helped Koro and protagonist deal lots of magic damage
Seems like that team is very close to the ryuji, Ann and makoto team in royal where you have a hybrid of magic and physical and the mc can alternate between the two when needed
Hrm... Yukari, Ken, and Aigis is pretty frontloaded with 3x Pierce damage, and has a 2x Electricity Weakness.
My ideal party is swapping Yukari for Koromaru. Yukari is outstanding, but I like party members with backup roles in this game.
It means I have balanced weaknesses, can generally hit physical weaknesses, have Heat Riser and Debilitate, as well as Dekaja and Dekunda.
Also means my party can hit everything but Ice and Wind, which I quite like.
Never played a Persona game before and after discovering the series through someone playing P3 music in the background a few years ago, I’m glad to see that Persona 3 Reload is real 🙏🏼🔥
It may not be the remake that most people wanted (ALL of the original, FES and Portable all in one game) but for what it’s worth, I’m okay with that, the game looks really fun but I’m ngl im kinda scared that I won’t like the gameplay which sounds absolutely Stupei but hope I’m just wrong.
sometimes I want to take my time and fully immerse myself in a game but life/responsibilities get in the way which is annoying but unfortunately necessary so I can relate with “time is of the essence” which is basically a theme of Persona 3 and IRL - makes me want to breeze through at least the battles and take my time with the story/interactions/relationships side.
I haven’t bought P3R yet - Since my all in one PC is dog shii and I’ve never owned a modern console beyond the Wii and 360, I’m looking to upgrade my PC soon. I’ve seen videos of P3R running well on Steam Deck OLED and even on the latest MacBook Pro, so I’ll probably just buy those and play it on there 😹

I never needed to rely on a healer because healing items in this game were so plentiful. Rather than forcing a healer on my team, I focused on damage and buffs. If I needed a heal/revive, the items that I passively picked up were more than enough to carry me through the game at the benefit that any of the party could use them.
I had a Late game party and an Early/Mid game party. Early on I had Yukari, Junpei, and Mitsuru. Mitsuru and Junpei's chareristics worked so well together and Yukari was the healer. Much later it slowly became Ken, Yukari, and Junpei as my main force, with Koro or Mitsuru swapping in when necessary. (Usually with Yukari when a Mini-boss resisted or Nulled wind.)
It’s interesting to see how you went about this…if you are taking a “who works the best as a party member” type stance, then yeah, of course characters like Koromaru, Ken, and Yukari would rise to the top while Akihiko and Aigis sink. But if you’re talking about“which character could carry the team and slaughter on their own,” suddenly Akihiko and Aigis shoot way up to the top.
I do tend to side more with the second stance when deciding party members on a first playthrough, but once you are looking at level 90+ and NG+, your version is absolutely more optimal overall. The protagonist is always going to be the best, so whoever synergies the best with him gets a massive boost in viability.
I went with Junpei, Yukari and Koromaru/Mitsuru
Junpei built out is basically guaranteed crits every time (even without rebellion). Yukari is just free healing, Mitsuru is kind of meh with ailments imo and focusing on her damage and freeze potential is much better as like half the enemies don't even take ailments, only conditions/elemental effects. Koromaru is awesome for buffing though. I really didn't want to use physical personas with MC because I wanted to focus on light/dark nulls and preserving HP. so I stuck with Junpei dealing with phys and crits (P3R is so easy to farm SP items anyway)
Ken and Aigis are both staples on my team. I pick the third person based on the situation. I usually dedicate my main character as a duel attack/healer so that I have a reason to keep swapping his personas back and forth to boost his theurgy. This way I don't need Yukari, especially since Ken also acts as a secondary healer when need be.
When i play p3fes 3 times (answer and journey), you can't build the party skills. So seeing this looks really fun since a lot of the party members has 2 play styles (aigis, aki, yukari= support/damage). I can't wait to play this game
At the end of the day, the best party members matter little since you cannot use them in the game's hardest fight. Use whoever you want to for the campaign.
It would be much better if Akihiko’s Theurgy charged faster after casting or receiving a buff, Akihiko would benefit much more from this, especially if debuffs would to be replaced with team buffs
It actually does kind of work like that! His theurgy gauge increases if he enters his turn already buffed, and these buffs can be applied by anyone. You can test this by seeing how much his gauge fills when he starts his turn unbuffed, vs how much it fills when he enters his turn with a buff applied to him :)
My team was Yukari, Aigis, and Koromaru. Koromaru surprised me with just how powerful he really was.
I heard that any stat boosts you give to party members carry over to new game +. What about the Theurgy related stuff? Do their combat characteristics stay unlocked? What about their second theurgy skills?
For Mitsuru, I removed Ice Break for Freeze Boost while Replacing Eerie Sound with Neural Slash or Marin Karin.
Did you know, Freeze Boosts Crit Chance on the Enemy by 100%?

It's so messed up that according to the move descriptions, Tentarafoo has a "Medium chance of confuse" (45%) while Neuro Slash has a "Low chance of confuse" (50%). Like yeah sure, Neuro Slash can miss or be nulled, but they didn't have to disrespect it like that.
Yukari is a good character to use and is one of the best remake character so I do agree she needs to be a main team member and the other two members is who yall like the most as for me I usually rock with "best girl" mitsuru I'm put it that way cause everyone has a best girl lol and my second usually is Koro cause a lot of monsters is weak to dark and outside of the MC he can deal damage to that weakness

Mitsuri is good for defence debuff, which is the best debuff. But she is slashing and ice. Like....okay. MC is already slashing, so her only real coverage is ice.
Her tier 2 theurgy is good, but it's not gonna be a reliable way to debilitate.

@@smokedsanjl How many enemies are immune to frost? Thats 1/8 of her skills slots for a lame spell, and 1/3rd of her turns to recast the break. She's the definition of mid.

Yukari actually has 75% off healing spells as it stacks with the previous 50% boost the same as the other personality boosts so yeah she's pretty OP as a healer for sure lol
Junpei's skills synergize just fine. I have him spam aoes since the crit chance is per enemy and all you need is one crit to be able to just do another aoe. Give him slash boost or amp as an accessory and he regularly double hits for it, which usually ranges from chunking enemies hard to sweeping the fight entirely. I've had him get three one mores in a row just spamming the AoEs so I love him.
I just wished his actual move set supported his play style more. I don’t think the gap between anyone in this game is too large especially with how well people can work together.
My team for my first run on hard is Koromaru (I just wanted to play with Koromaru, he's so much better than in FES, plus he's adorable), Aigis and one between Yukari and Ken, depending on the situation at hand.
I have my MC playing magic DPS/coverage anyway, so Mitsuru is replacable to a degree. But the truth is, I cycle out my 3rd and 4th spots between Aigis, Yukari and Ken, depending on the enemies at hand.
I think I've found a good balance. But I have a feeling a Merciless run will have me switch out Koromaru more often than I'd like.
I can agree with you pick even if I play Ken a little different. I was Yukari, Ken, +1 when I finished. Having Yukari as main healer and Ken as a secondary healer for when you need to buff, use items, or are stunned/ko'd with Yukari is very nice. You only need to spend 1 move slot for a full team heal so he doesnt miss out on too much to have it. That duo can carry any +1 you need for the situation.
They’re too good
Akihiko's theurgy is mistranslated. He gains gauge from being buffed during his turn. So if you run him you want someone with auto-ma skills. There is an accessory that gives auto-matarukaja so you don't even need to run it on MC.
But it's why people had a hard time with him since he just gets sukukaja and masukukaja. But with his kit he honestly should have come with tarukaja for better synergy, but having someone run an auto skill for him isn't too bad.
But the way I use him because of auto-ma skills he gains theurgy pretty fast. And even without theurgy buff amp godhand pumps out a lot of dmg.
The team I run is him, Ken, Koromaru with the B team being Junpei, Mitsuru, Yukari.
Honestly, After finishing the game myself though I didn’t use the team comp I think the best team comp you could possibly use is:
Aigis
Junpei
Koromaru
Having Koromaru do a rebellion to raise the parties crit rate will just make Junpei and Aigis excel at their jobs with Junpei always being able to fall back onto fire damage and Koromaru having 3 skill types. The reason I don’t have any healers listed is because Protag can fuse some of the best Personas for support especially with Messiah in late game. This allows Protag to tank hits and Salvation when necessary. This comp can be made especially good if you grind out Luck Incenses for Aigis and Junpei
My only regret is not figuring this out the day before the final boss
The only problem is that you are forced to heal with MC, if the enemy blocks physical you are royally fucked and Aigis can only crit with Akasha Arts and her single target Theurgy.
my team was Yukari, Aki, and Koromaru, I kept Masukukaja on Aki so MC and him could buff defence and speed in one turn, usually had koromaru using debilitate and revolution and my whole plan was just critting out every boss, I had Aki hit 3k damage with his God's Hand it was wild
My endgame team was
Yukari (I don’t need to explain why)
Koromaru (why is the dog so powerful and why does he have debilitate?)
Akihiko (Emergency healing + good damage and amazing theurgy)

Maybe trim some of the rambling to keep each video to under 10min. Show the character status screen once at intro of each party member, then again when you run through to summarize at the end, then just show actual combat footage in the background as you explain the spells/abilities .

and i just found out about Yukari other combat characteristic "Healing Master" and it reduces SP cost for recovery skills to 50% of the normal cost! i think you have to watch DVD with Yukari 3 times to get this 🙌🏻
if you cook with her 3 times as well, or should i say if you watch movies with her 3 times and cook with her 3 times its reduced to 25%

My intended imaginary team is Yukari, Junpei, and Ken.
But when I learned Ken's skills I couldn't help but worry that His skills are similar to Yukari's support skills. Will it work if I put them on the same team?
Maybe I need to try removing Junpei from the team and choosing another member.
I'm interested in Koromaru because he does very good damage. But I'm not sure if choosing Aigis would be better or not. For flexibility in physical attacks

Don’t worry! You can put pretty much anyone together and they’ll work as long as they have skills that support each other. Ken and Yukari can make a team super defensive with accuracy debuff and barriers. When it comes to aigis/junpei, either one can work, but you have to get Junpei’s combat characteristic before he can reach his full potential as a crit machine, so going with aigis may be the better choice until then. Just be aware that they all do pierce damage with their attacks, and two of them are weak to zio. But if you have yukari debuff accuracy, ken put up barriers, and aigis buff defense, you can become pretty hard to kill.
Ken’s second Theurgy is great but it’s not nearly as good as it reads. It reads as a hard reset but there are two vital flaws. First, Makoto *needs* to survive that massive turn, so at best it’s two revives. Second, unless you’re heavily SP depleted or down two allies, it’s usually the same to spend a turn reviving and Mediarahan. The barrier is the only real advantage to it.
Also while you did a good job going over strengths and weaknesses, in a long game like P3 Reload, I think it’s very flawed to go based purely on late-game. Junpei and Koromaru are insane late-game but take too long to get going. Akihko and Mitsuru are so good in the early-mid game that they should be ranked higher, same with Aigis’s dominance in the mid game and early late game.

Shoes that grant Tarukaja and Rebellion on battle start + a Revolution from a Party Member and enemies with no weaknesses fall like chumps to his Crits every other turn
Koro was in my party the entire time. Had the highest level (besides Makoto) - highest gear - and was an overall badass. Then I had to keep Aigis in the party so she could translate for him. I also own a Husky soooooooo - the idea of having a closely resembled dog is SOLD for me.
Mitsuru describes my playstyle perfectly so I’m probably gonna use her with yukari and koro

My team is Yukari Aigis and Junpei I usually lead with debilitate into revolution for Mc and everyone except Yukari either throws physicals or use a respective buff (Aigis has attack Junpei defense)
I hypothetically could make the team better by letting Mc do the healing and then throw koromaru on the team for power howl and to save Mc a turn on set up to make Everyone hit really hard
Me personally I'm still addicted to mitsuru/aigis with ambush distress (is almost guarenteed to crit with mitsurus passive) but I have been trying to use other characters and swapping out aki who is my current 3rd. Ive been getting the hang of koro but I just cant use ken, idk if im building him wrong but he just seems useless to me since I dont see the point in barriers over marakukaja or masukunda/masukukaja and heat riser instead of marakunda and matakunda. Oh and yuka-tan feels replaceable by the pharmacy imo

My only constant squad members are Mitsuru and Yukari after that I tend to switch up my last spot often.
- junpei is very good for bossing at endgame since the first three turn of the fight you're pretty much garanteed to crit if built correctly (dragon boots & bis sword)(dealt 16k theurgy crit eheh) The big plus for junpei is that he can do every typê of physical attack so if someone resist repl drn whatever on slash he's not useless
- Mitsuru is an insane support for mobbing, pretty lackluster on bosses since most of them can't be affected by ailments, therefore her passive is rendered useless but pairs VERY WELL with junpei for mobbing (ambush -> full crit -> go next), i didn't use icebreak/concentrate to put freeze boost/ neuroslash so she's entering into the fight she either freezes or confuse mobs => junpei goes next and wipe it all (apt pupil + auto tarukabellion on gear).
- aigis is pretty much the oppposite of junpei, more stable, don't rely on crit and can buff on downtime
- Yukari is bad at mobbing good for bossing, since once you figured out weaknesses of ennemy you shouldn't really take damage from shadows while mobbing
- Akihiko is the most lackluster character in my opinion, his theurgy is so long to charge even if you spend all your time buffing yours (i'm not sure if i read it correclte to be honest>.
Oh yeah my favorite party member are mitsuru even though she's not that useful in lategame fights in my opinion and junpei and how they synergize together, i wish they would learned more advanced spells
You can't even crit with tempest slash, since it doesn't have a crit chance. You are supposed to use Getsu-Ei which has a 15% crit chance and always does more damage than tempest slash except when you hit all the 4 hits, which you obviously won't.

Koromaru has been the best party member for me. Masukunda at the start of the fight is pretty busted and yeah his move coverage is very good. His agility is also amazing so he’s usually dodging all the time and for me he crits more often than Junpei does
Junpei has vorpal blade and brave blade, the two phys moves that have some of the highest crit rate, then his best weapon also grants him apt pupil, you can see that each characters best weapon grants the character something they need like aigis’ weapon granting her arm master, add the arm master accessory to Junpei if you wish as well, besides it’s not like Junpei needs a passive crit boost in his slots cause he has em already in his personality, it’d be like giving yukari spell master.
Yes of course, I just don't like how most of his potential can't be realized without things outside of his skill set. With the others' they still have a decent tool kit even without combat characteristics or gear with special effects
@@KDThreeSixty but that’s the thing apt pupil is a luxury, completely unnecessary with how easy it is to crit enemies, highest dmg amongst party members with the luxury of not needing any so so he can just buff with marakukaja constantly as well making him an incredibly well rounded member.

In my opinion I use Korumaru over Ken for the sole reason of rebellion. What I noticed is crits also builds Koru’s theurgy. Also he’s the only member with debilitate so I pretty much always take him for boss fights too.
Yukari is a must need member just cause her characteristic giving her 25% healing costs. She gets so much free value it’s hard to say you’ll give her up.
Also Aigis is my main physical damage dealer, while Junpei is also a good option he didn’t really feel as good even though he works better with Korumaru. Sometimes I’ll even run a more Aigis carry team cause I love Aigis as a character lol.

I think Mitsuru is def pretty weak cause she doesn't get ice amp and ailments rarely work on bosses afaik and like you mentioned ice break is kinda must on her. I guess freeze does work on a lot of bosses but I feel like it's very rare on bosses even with freeze boost. I have been using Akihiko too and I didn't even think about the theurgy charging with him that sucks I feel like without that he could be decent because he has damage and both phys and magic.
I agree with you on the best party debilitate is just amazing and each of the 3 party members are very versatile.

ack in Fes and p3p I would go with yukari, ken, and koromaru. I was gonna do the same in reloaded, but all of Ken's outfits being booty shorts weirded me out. All of his costumes are booty shorts. So I rolled with aigis instead.
There's enough enemies weak to strike and pierce for her to do work, and she's a solid buff/item spammer if she can't hit them
God yukari just so good. Ken i find i always go for him as a "healer" for when yukari sp runs low and i dont want to spend resources having her recover sp. The fact each character can have several different styles of play is really nice.

I prefer Aki for debuff instead of Ken. Having Yukari and Aki gives you enough healing and haven’t found tetra/makarakarn to be all that useful so far.. for now i run mediarama and samarecarm on Ken instead.

Yes, also the only reason I don’t run revive spells is because I have a bunch of the items from the pharmacy.

I think I'm at about midgame right now (August), so far my main team has been Yukari and Akihiko. I've switched between Mitsuru, Koro and Aigis and am still trying to work out a good team. Junpei was the first to go for new party members. Magic stat too low and not as good with physical in comparison to Aigis, not to mention Aigis also brings party buffs. I may take out Akihiko, we'll see. He fills the same role as Mitsuru would, of being a debuffer and taking care of a physical + element.
Koro is aiight, but he eats MP like nobody's business. Took him through like 2 floors and he was already empty. Aigis is useful when physical attacks get through, but if the enemy is strong against them she loses her usefulness pretty quickly. Mitsuru has good magic, but I'd either bring her or Aki but not both.
During Tarturus Expedition. He is quite lacking.
But during Boss fights he is insanely good. While his SP is rather low. He has a Physical Attack Ability that enhances his damage when its Near Full Moon.
So buff his attack
Debuff the boss’s defense and he does like 350~ physical damage on the first turn. Probably more if you use his 2nd Theurgy.
And he can land Crits pretty well. Though that is just my personal experience.
What I find him a Solid pick in your party is his affinity. He is immune to Dark and Fire. While being weak to light, it’s really not that common to encounter enemies with light damage and even if they do, his evasion stat is pretty insane.
Unlike Junpei and Aki, while resistant to Fire and Elec. It’s very common for them to be exposed by their weakness. and giving enemies an extra turn can derail your strategy.
@@chronenojysk5107 Funny you bring up weaknesses. I got kicked in the butt yesterday in a boss fight. They used purely electricity.....and I brought both Yukari and Aigis......yeah that was a mistake XD
