1:21 To clear it up: Scramble is just the Japanese name for Strikers. Saying it’s a different game is like saying Persona 5 The Royal is a different game than Persona 5 Royal (they’re the same game)

@@GoldenMonti All good, it’s an easy mistake to make since there usually isn’t much title differences outside of an extra “the”, so the drastically different title for strikers is easy to mistake.
Off the top of my head, the only other games with major regional title differences would be “Persona 4 Arena” & “Persona 4 Arena Ultimax” versus “Persona 4 The Ultimate” & “Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold” in Japan. Arguably worse than strikers’ problem since at least it’s still P5S no matter where you’re from but arena has its whole acronym change from here to Japan.

For the slow intros in the persona 1 songs - the slow part is what plays before the first move is made. The turnups start once the first attack is made
Which is a thing they got from the Shin Megami Tensei games. Most megaten battle themes don't start until a punch gets thrown. (Nocturne is, as far as I'm aware, the exception).
If you listened to Counterstrike for just a FEW more seconds you would've heard absolute peak of a guitar solo 😭

The reason Throw away your mask has those lines is because Royal's theme is like escapism and attempting to change reality to one where all is perfect where you oppose that because it would make life pointless and it would rob the freedom of those who want to decide and strive to succeed

The whole point of Shin Mitsuo Tensei is that it's really a 8-bit remix of I'll Face Myself -battle-.
Because of how boss and his dungeon is built, this song works needed way.
It still sounds kinda "empty", which is still in keeping with the character. "Fuller" versions of 8 bit music can still be made as shown with various add on chips like the VRC 7.
Tesso is a boss that's a big robot rat so its meant yo be a funny boss, hence the song being like thst

Fun Fact: Persona 5 also uses True Will as boss music in Shadow Sae’s fight and Akechi’s fight! I’d put it right behind Jaldaboath though.

Just going through the first few themes on your list, it's pretty obvious what Shoji Meguro did for the series, as his work on the Persona 1 remake pretty cleanly splits your choices off of the originals.
Honestly I feel like I gotta play the game to actually get the whole vibe of the songs then I feel like I can appreciate them more but that game is so old man

Persona 1, 2 (Innocent Sin) & 2 (Eternal Punishment) were all originally on the PS1 in it's release year (2000), and were brought to the PSP in 2009, after Persona 3 & 4 were finished for the PS2 in the few years prior. It gives the first three games higher quality assets & sounds, which came with remaking the music and even adding new ones (with vocals). That's why there's so many duplicates, like how Persona 3's entire soundtrack was remade for Persona 3 Reload this year.
Also, unrelated, but seeing how you're a new Persona fan, I don't know how new you are, I still kinda am too? Played Persona 5 Royal back in December 2022. Never was a fan of anime, or RPGs, or turn-based games, but I got recommended it by a friend since it was free on the Xbox Game Pass. Kinda didn't like the beginning TOO much (won't spoil), but the music kept me playing. Eventually I got addicted to the series, playing all the games in reverse.. then all the spin-offs. Some of them I didn't like at all, but again, the music hits too good. It took me until Late 2023 to finish all the games, playing 5 hours a day whilst not playing any other long-term games. If you're gonna fall down this rabbit hole, you better be LOCKED IN dawg, shit's wild.
Damn bro like the only ones I’ve played are persona 5 (completed), P3R (in progress) P3 fes (only the beginning) p4 (last halfway) and p5 tact so my bag not that deep but I haven’t been spoiled on anything for the most part but after reload I plan on finishing 4 and definitely checking out the others for sure also thank you for the information for helpful 🫡🫶🏼

I think you missed one for Persona 4, which is The Fog.
No for sure for some reason it wasn’t on the list and I’m not aware of all the boss themes

Personally I think the reload version of Unavoidable Battle is a bit of a downgrade from the original simply because the guitar isn’t as powerful and the drums sound like they come from an electric drum kit rather than a proper one
