The Lee family members are public figures. So Singaporeans are entitled to voice their opinions given the public-figure-status of the 5 Lee family members, which is further substantiated by 2 Lee family members having helmed the prime ministership of Singapore. So here is what most Singaporeans feel about the Lee family saga which in its essence comes down to the demolishment (or non-demolishment) of 38 Oxley Road. Most Singaporeans feel that if 4 out of 5 Lee family members (the father, the mother, the daughter and the youngest son) opted for the demolishment of the family home, then why must the only 1 leftover dishonorable son “used the government apparatus” to block the demolishment of the house? Without a doubt, he may have been the 3rd prime minister of Singapore but Singaporeans will eventually spit on his grave.

In the same vein, stop using the taxpayers' money profligately for the erection of the $335 million self-gratifying Founders' Memorial when the significant sum of money could be used to offset the GST hike.
    No party lasts forever.
-- And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away. --

Is just like Great Wall and Tiananmen Square, if demolished, do you think we can better understand the China history, Let our government setting committees to handle, can buy over and become one of country assets, after hundreds years or more, our generations will be appreciated, that is why government needs to preserve so many old buildings.

Full preservation should be taken on such an IMPORTANT LANDMARK, 38 Oxley road, as a monument, protecting the history as Singapore’s heritage, the place where the ‘birth’/foundation/creation of Singapore took place with first meetings of Mr Lee Kuan Yew and PAP members, leading to it’s prosperity, peace, protection especially when Singapore had to be on it’s own, swimming in a big ocean. It’ll be the GREATEST disrespect to Mr Lee Kuan Yew and what he had done for Singapore to demolish such an iconic monument, it’s like erasing Singapore’s history and the memory of Mr Lee Kuan Yew. If the youngest brother is magnanimous and truly sympathetic to ALL Singaporeans, also recognising his father’s huge contribution in making Singapore that it is today , he should agree for 38 Oxley Road to be preserved and being given his share of the sale to the government.

It's easy to challenge own siblings but not outsiders unless you are really think that you are absolutely right. It's a pity to see a lovely family broken down due to certain issues only they knew well.

With due respect to the late Dr Lee, one needs to first ask how her fate would be different if she was born in a different family. For those privileged by birth, it’s difficult to genuinely relate how lives on the other side really feel like on a daily basis. With these privileges come duties, in this case, duties for the nation, and they must come before selves. Even if the late Mr Lee had instructed otherwise, the gov has every rights to use the house as it deems fit - the very gov that bestowed them these privileges. Further, while Mr Lee Hsien Yang claims that Mr Lee Hsien Loong’s motive is self-serving, isn’t he doing the same too? Be grateful.

Do not demolish the home of Singapore's founder, deceased PM LEE Kuan Yew. Please preserve to honor him.
