LKY last wish should be respected! He has done much for Singapore. This is what we can do for him. There are many ways to remember historical moments. With advance of technology, we can make it more real with virtual reality.

Anyone who had read LKY's book ' Hard truths,' will be aware of his expressed wish to demolish his home because he abhorred hero worship. LKY also stated that his wife found it repulsive that visitors to their ' museum home' is akin to voyeurism . If politicians & Singaporeans wish to express their affection & respect to their founding father, they should RESPECT HIS WILL to demolish his home. As a compromise, a humble park with a small sign can replace their demolished home.

We need a physical reminder and a national site to forever commemorate and remember the great legacy of the first PM LKY the man who built Singapore.
I think it’s important that we have a national site to forever remember the founding father.
Other countries have these national sites, Singapore should have one too.

Even before Dr.Lee's death, Hsein Yang and his supporters here were calling for LKY's will to be respected. What these people
have done is to ignore other portions of the will. LKY had explicitly stated that in the event the prevailing law prevents demolition, the house may never be opened to others except his children, their families and descendants. Now let's see whether there is any change to the law.

I see most of the comments here have totally disregarded other details of Lee Kuan Yew’s will. In the will it was stated explicitly that the house was to be demolished once the daughter, Dr. Lee was no longer living there, subject to there being no changes to the law that would prevent its demolition. Should there be changes to these regulations, it was the wish of LKY that the House may never be opened to others except his children, their families and descendants.
Even long before Dr. Lee’s death, Lee Hsien Yang had started ranting about how his elder brother was against demolition of the house and made all sorts of premature accusations.

It's a private family affair. Let it be categorised as such. If the government wishes to acquire it for whatever reason - as it has done for many private property such as for road or MRT construction, housing project, monumental preservation or military bases - it can do so with a simple stroke of the pen, just pass a law. Why so complicated? LHY and LWL make it looks so complicated. Many Singaporeans also had their wish not to vacate their home or flat which they had live all their live, but had to do so because of some government projects or purposes. Their wishes not granted. Ditto with citizens LKY, LHY and LWL

Do we need to preserve the house at all? Singapore had already a preview - or premotion - of what is to come late last year and early this year with the "LKY: THE EXPERIENCE". It was an interactive immersive multi-media exhibition featuring a lot of the LKY legacy and artefact including the car Lee Kuan Yew drove and others. It's was educational, fun experience for the kids and adults, and anyone interested in his life. It was more meaningful then just going to see a house at Oxley Road - unless it is turned into a museum with all the gadgets and exhibits akin to the "LKY : The Experience".
