Singapore is the only country whereby the PM is accused of abusing POWER not to enrich, but instead, to curb and disenfranchise his own family. It's the only country where a feud in the PM's family by his politically inactive siblings triggers a parliamentary statement, and where, were Lee Hsien Yang's accusations true, the PM has to abuse his power via a committee rather than simply order the deed done. The extent to which the whole situation is ridiculous is easily apparent when one compares LHL's so-called "power abuse" to those of other countries - and you won't find any other country whose political culture is so adamant to do right by its

Having the refutations carried out in parliament makes it lose legitimacy. Even with the whip lifted, MPs are not willing to ask questions that may implicate Lee Hsien Loong as they fear losing their career. This is therefore unjust.

Where would you suggest the refutations be carried out, then, if not in Parliament? The intention is to have an open and public debate, so the public can judge based on the facts and evidence presented, and the location that best fits this criteria happens to be in Parliament.
Your point is that MPs are not willing to go against the PM for fear of losing their jobs, but even if that's true, it applies only to the PAP MPs. Believe me, if there is any evidence of abuse of power by Lee Hsien Loong, the opposition MPs would be the first to pounce on it.
