  • Step by step easy to follow instructions on knitting this Baby Blanket using the Chevron Stitch. This Chevron knit stitch is such a classic stripe pattern that makes for the perfect baby blanket. This stitch can also be used for a scarf or full size blanket. Full knitting instructions are included below.

    Chevron Baby Blanket knitting instructions:
    Size US 8 needle
    Worsted weight yarn
    Cast on 145 stitches. For a wider or narrower blanket add or subtract 23 stitches
    Set Up Rows:
    Knit all stitches for 6 rows
    Chevron Stitch Pattern Repeat:
    Row 1: K3, SSK, K9, KFB (KFB, K9, Sl1 as if to knit, K2tog, psso, K9, KFB) repeat between ( ) until you have 15 stitches remain on needle, KFB, K9, K2tog, K3
    Row 2: K3, Purl till 3 stitches remain on needle, K3
    Repeat rows 1 and 2 till desired length of blanket
    End with 6 rows of all Knit
    Bind Off
    NOTE: I chose 6 complimentary colors and knitted each color for 22 rows (11 pattern repeats). But be creative and use whatever colors look good to you and make your strips as wide as you desire.
