I edited this video today to remove the instructions about how many stitches to cast on for the full baby blanket and the number of stitches in each repeat section of this stitch as I realized I stated this incorrectly in the video. The correct cast on and repeat stitch count is included in the video description (145 cast on stitches and 23 stitches in each repeat section of this Chevron stitch).

For this blanket I used an acrylic yarn called "Deborah Norville Everyday Baby". To be honest I don't recall the exact colors that were used on this blanket. I purchased this yarn at JoAnns. Hope you give it a try!!
Beautiful and excellently taught, pls do more videos. My question is, do you think a semi bulky weight, number 5 yarn would work or is it better to use a number 4 weight yarn?i knit and can adjust needle size and stitches required, but not sure if bulky would be good to use. I have looked for quite a while for this pattern and your video was the best i have viewed.i can't wait to try it and i have ordered yarns to do so. Thank you.
Thanks for your comment. I think it would look lovely in a bulky weight yarn. Just as you said go up to maybe a 9 or 10 size needle and you would obviously do a lot less stitches across to get your width. Maybe try a small swatch to see how it works up. I’m sure it will be beautiful.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I was out of town and needed to get home to take a measurement of the blanket. I realized I didn't have that written down anywhere. The width of the blanket I made is 25 inches and it consists of 5 full chevron "V's". I hope that helps!!
I'm sorry you are having difficulties. It's a bit confusing because there are so many increases and decreases. Let's examine first the repeat section for a full chevron which consists of 23 stitches. Let's compare the stitch count on your needle before and after you knit those 23 stitches: Stitch count before after KFB 1 2 increase stitch, 1 stitch becomes 2 K9 9 9 knit 9 stitches sl1, K2tog, psso 3 1 double decrease, 3 stitches becomes 1 K9 9 9 knit 9 stitches KFB 1 2 increase stitch, 1 stitch becomes 2 The sum of the stitches both before and after you knit that section is 23. You can do the same analysis for the 15 stitches at the start and end of each row, counting the stitch count before and after you knit them which produces 15 stitches. I hope that isn't too confusing and you can follow along. Just be sure that you are doing the correct increase and decrease stitches each time. Good luck and happy knitting.

The width of a full Chevron (23 stitches) for my gauge is 4.75". I have a total of four full Chevron's plus my half Chevron's on both ends (each end being 3"wide). So my total width is 25 inches (4.75x4 plus 3, plus 3). If you want to make it wider for a full blanket, simply add another 23 stitches for every full Chevron you want to add, knowing that one full Chevron equals 4.75 inches. For example: You could do a blanket with 9 full Chevron's: 9x23 = 207 stitches Plus the 30 you need for the ends: = 237 stitches That would equate to 48.75" wide if your gauge is similar to mine. That is actually SL1 which is abbreviation for "Slip One". It is apart of the double decrease stitch in the pattern which starts with a sl1 (slip one), then a K2tog (knit two together). Then you finish it by passing the slip stitch from your right needle over the K2tog stitch you just did ("psso") That decreases your stitch count by two. I hope that makes sense. I show that stitch sequence in the video which may help that become more clear.
