    This pattern is for a baby blanket, it's very easy to knit, good TV watching project 😉
    I'm using 2 Caron cakes for this project, the one that's finished is in "strawberry trifle" and the one I'm using to knit the second blanket is "cookies and cream" , love the names!!!
    Start: cast on 3 sts and turn your work
    Increase section: kfb in the first stitch, knit to the end of row, repeat this row until you finish one Caron cake (200g)
    Decrease section: k1, k1 and bind off the first knitted stitch , knit to the end of the row, repeat this row until you are left with 3 sts, cast off
    That's it, easy!
    To get your Caron cakes go to: www.loveknitting.com/caron-ca...
    The needles I'm using are these ones: amzn.to/2UdpcHz

    This is another interesting way to make the diagonal blanket. I am making my second, and I will stop when I have a small ball of yarn left. The last time I went to the end of the yarn skein, thinking that the second half would use exactly the same amount. I was not finished, and had to stop to make a move between 2 countries. When I picked it up again, months later, I ran out of yarn before finished, which is what someone else has said. The yardage might not be exactly the same but also your gauge could change. If you know you can buy a third skein that is a perfect match (I had used Red Heart Soft for a baby, easy to get more) then you are in luck :) Or you can have fun playing yarn chicken. We all try it! Just plan ahead for how you want to keep your simple but beautiful project SIMPLE!

    I found this answer for making nice border (from 9 months ago) "start with 4sts cast on, knit 2, kfb, k to the end, so you only increase at the beginning of every row, when you're ready to decrease, k2, k2tog, k to the end, so you decrease at the beginning of every row"

      The border on the sample blanket is made by increasing (the kfb) and decreasing after 2 or 3 stiches instead of doing it on hte 1st stich.

    You start with 3 stitches so when you end the blanket do you bind off the whole thing when you have 3 stitches left

    How many stitches are on the needles whenever you begin to decrease?

    • @TeoMakes
      @TeoMakes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      that depends on your knitting, but what I like to do is divide my yarn in two and start the decreases once I've finished the first half, in my case I used two skeins so, when I was almost finished with my first skein, I started the decrease section

    I love the blanket, but the recipe does not provide the same that you show in the brighter blanket. There is actually a very small narrow border with the recipe you provide. Can you provide the one you used for the brighter blanket?

      Megan Berube it happens as she goes naturally when she does the Kfb at the beginning of each row 🙂
      I hope you don’t mind me responding but I saw no one had let you know and it’s been four months

      Kathleen Vassallo her border on her sample is thicker than what she’s stitching. I wonder how to do the thicker border.

      This is similar to the dish cloth pattern. That one is cast on 4 then k2, yarn over, knit to the end of the row. When you’re decreasing k1, k2 together, yarn over, knit to the end. This creates a 2 stitch border.

    If this is beginner you might want to slow down your knit & kfb stitching. It’s hard to see what your doing. Just go slower for beginners

      People can always slow the video down - click on the little round icon and a list of options will come up - click on playback speed and choose the speed from there. My son had to tell me about this when I complained about the speed of videos :-D

    Question for TeoMakes: Row One--to make the border, knit two, then KFB, then knit rest of row. Turn the work. Then repeat row One. Is that correct? Your video doesn't address the border.

    • @TeoMakes
      @TeoMakes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes Susan, depends how wide you want the border you can start with k2, kfb, knit to the end. the blanket I'm knitting for demonstration has no border

      Did this work for you? I wanted to make a blanket with the exact same border as the original blanket she made. But I’m a total beginner and it seems like it’s not working.

    • @TeoMakes
      @TeoMakes  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      anniescraps hi Annie, if you want to make a blanket with a border, all you need to do is start every row with knit 2 stitches, then do 1 kfb (this is a knit front back in one stitch = 1 increase) and then knit the rest of the stitches to the end, turn your work and repeat the same thing until you finish 1 Caron cake.
      For the decrease section, at the beginning of every row start with knit 2 stitches, then *k 1, knit 1 more and pass the first knitted stitch over the second * (* to * is a decrease ), knit to the end and repeat this until you are left with 3 sts, bind them off

    Hi hun, totally fell in love with this blanket. I’m in process of making one but using a different wool. How many stitches do you have on your needles at the point you started decreasing. I’ve currently got to 150 sts not sure if this is enough as I want it for a prat blanket I’m using James C Brett Double Knit Wool. Also how did you do the knit boarder you mentioned at beginning of pattern. Thank you xx

      Yes, the baby one turn out to be 1x1m so to make it 2x2m you'll need 4x the amount of yarn, knit with increases until you finish half of the cakes, then start the decreases with the other half of the cakes
