Admittedly, she did know and not say anything, but this girl grew up from a very young age knowing EVERYTHING. If there was a merital problem, she knew about it and heard the fighting. She heard all the villages whispers about her uncle. She heard Abuela and Bruno's fights. That said, she learned at an early age to stay out of most of what she heard. Anyone's stress became hers. And from her perspective, all she could do was listen and wait. When the Miracle was destroyed, it was a relief. She didn't have to know about everyone's worries! She was happy, just like the rest of the family, when the Miracle was restored, but she was also scared.❤
Tbh the only reason Delores would reasonably get rid of the candle "gift" is because of all the burdens she has to hear about, and probable headaches. Being normal might seem like a real gift to her, and also because the last lime she opened up about hearing secrets they probably called her a freak. Especially when you consider the theory that Abuela somehow had the ability to influence the gifts that were received based on what she thought was necessary for the family. The whole situation becomes increasingly bizarre if you put a dark twist on the story and view the Madrigals as villians.

I wouldn't blame Dolores cause of the pain she's going through.
It would make sense. If she hears as much as a pin drop, it's an headache for her if she speaks to someone with normal volume. She even claps with only her index finger.
So if her gift disappears, she could live a normal life without fear of having headache everyday.
