Isabella wasn't disappointed about the cactus. She was awe struck that she made something different. Something that wasn't "perfect" by Abuela's strict standards over her. Abuela always expected her to be perfect, so she never knew what else she could make besides what Abuela would allow her. In that moment Isabella realized that there's more to herself than the "perfect" little box Abuela put her in.

When my family and I watched Encanto, we made so many theories about it. One was that Mirabel was like Abuela, and Abuela didn't want Mirabel to be like her, so she made Mirabel kinda like an outcast.

Kids understand more than you think and I love that they didn't do the typical princess thing and made it more realistic for children in real life exposing them to family problems more obviously than frozen etc

You don’t really know dolores is the villian because as we seen at the almost end of the movie the house was cracking and falling apart it messed with the family’s powers so maybe when it cracked and fell a little bit the whole family was affected but only for short time for them to not notice something was going on and I did not get this from someone else

my little brother and me had no trouble understanding the movie and everything you said that only adults noticed me and my little brother noticed them first run
There’s something that you guys have not even noticed Mirabelle has butterflies on her dress. It seems that she probably loves butterflies. She even has a pink butterfly on one of her T-shirt. I don’t know but. She might be connected to that gold butterfly in during the film
