  • Today I tinted the taillights in the WRX. I originally used the Rustoleum Lens Tint, but quickly realized that it was barely tinting them, if at all! Ended up going with the VHT Lens Tint. The good thing is that the Rustoleum is peelable so if it didn't turn out the way I had intended you can always peel it off.

We've done a lot to the car since this video. Ended up going with a vinyl tint in the end. If you want to see what it looks like now, go to my TikTok account: TouchofTurbo

I'm also having the same problem but I believe the spray is translucent so from certain angels I think the tint hits harder

Seems that this crap is only good for giving your tail lights a slightly "smoked" look, not for blacking them out. I'm currently trying to tint some tail lights and 4 coats in, and its just barely tinted. Might as well be spraying dirty water on it.

rustoleum has a regular lens tent. it's not peelable. I did just two coats on my side markers and they're completely blacked. but I did it on the car so you got to watch for runoff.

what did you do to keep it from runoff?

    • @El_Grande_Jefe

@@4renk655 couldn't keep it off 100%. Tiny bit got on a couple inches around wheel well. But I taped it with blue tape and cardboard. If I could do anything different I would have done something at the very bottom there maybe shoved in a piece of paper towel or cloth just to catch run off at the bottom.

@@LandonsBuildz how does this tint hold up? Also how many coats do you need for it to get dark
