HUGE tip if you want to be able to solo in the carrack and keep it parked in orbit while you use the Piceses to go down to a planet surface, normally there is no way to see where you parked your carrack once you get far enough away, and it's unbelievably easy to lose it forever or be unable to find it. A quick fix is to accept a delivery mission and go pick up the first package, and just keep the package on your ship. It will never despawn and will give you an easy waypoint to always find your carrack. This is super helpful because the Piceses is way easier than the Carrack to get in and out of orbit.
@@TastyChickenLegs TBH im not sure this is still a thing, but they didn't drop "waypoints" as such, but they did have markers you could see like your ship marker.
That ship has so much potential and that's why it's one of the most popular ships produced. One of the people in the group I was playing with before the last wipe had a Carrack. We had a few long (6+hr) sessions were we never landed at the 4 main cities. We only landed for missions or at ports to refuel and restock. It was honestly some of the most fun I've had in the 'Verse and really made it feel like you were properly exploring. There was even a few times the Carrack owner just logged in while they were doing other things and some of us used it as an orbital outpost, taking the C8 down to the planet to run missions and stuff. For those reasons alone I'm going to grind my ass off to get one in 3.18
That’s epic - always great when you get a huge session like that. The carrack is one of those ships where if you get a full crew together it just feels amazing.
This was an entertaining watch. It's exciting to think of all of the possibilities that might exist in game once we've got systems like Pyro in our hands. I can't wait to see these bigger ships really get a chance to shine

It's funny, I've had a Carrack for a long time now but I have never filled the gun rack, or seen it filled in any Carrack for that matter. It looks pretty awesome fully stocked
Yeah it’s been a really fun way to play for the last few weeks when not doing events! Can definitely get the feel for how powerful a vehicle it is and we’ve still got drones, modules, and proper scanning to come.
The inside of the carrac looks so good. I can definitely see certain play groups going off grid for long periods in one of these things. But for me it's going to be the reclaimer.
@@ahmedfarah4094 I really like the Connie’s but I want to love them. The reason I can’t is the social areas of the ships - for what is ostensibly a long hauler where the crew is meant to spend days or weeks together the rec areas appear to be an afterthought and the complete lack of any separation between sleeping and living quarters is a bit weird. I feel this is just a product of an older ship design and if we look at some of the newer medium sized ships we can see how much better they’ve got (Argo raft for example). The Connie’s just suffer from being a bit dated imo and could do with a refresh. Other than that though these ships are excellent and could be brought up to spec with only some minor tweaking.
Great video Loud! I recently got a Carrack in my RSI hangar. This video shows how versatile this ship is and it's not done getting more features added! The one thing I wish/hope for is the ability to fuel the other craft stored on the Carrack. But that might require the modularity feature, using one of the bays to store the extra fueling equipment necessary.
Cheers Eric. Yeah I’d imagine there will be some form of “Jerry can” function in the future where you can hand refuel smaller ships like the Pisces. I didn’t go into the modularity of the Carrack in this vid because I wanted to keep it focussed on the now and near(ish) future but damn it’s exciting 😂
Great video! I have an Odyssey CCU in my hangar that I plan to use in a similar fashion with the Nomad living in its hangar as my runabout. The carrack is the loaner ship and I might go ahead and apply that CCU upgrade and try out this nomadic lifestyle in stanton.
The Carrack is the perfect setting for a death match amongst your org mates! Get some bright orange armor for the REF who owns it, fill the gun rack , have everyone set their respawn point at the med bay, and then let them go crazy hunting each other in the bowls of the ship
The Carrack fully crewed with the turrets manned, is probably THE single best mobile base for traversing Pyro. I would probably opt to store an Arrow in the hangar for additional air support in the event of attack, and 4-5 ground vehicles/hover bikes in the garage. A general tip for people on components is understanding that the class (military etc) is the key to components, and very often the lower rating such as D can be more efficient, at the cost of time or speed. So for example, a military grade D drive would get quite a lot more fuel efficiency and range than the military grade A drive. I can see a civilian grade B or so drive being about right for the Carrack in Pyro because it’s so huge, and you don’t want to be refuelling too often.
Yeah it’s going to be hard to beat, although I do look forward to giving it a proper head to head vs the odyssey. The odyssey has that benefit of a much more flexible hangar and I like that all the turrets are remote. Plus the ability to source fuel on the move could be a big advantage in the furthest reaches of the verse.
Great video, well done! So I keep my Carrack stocked to the brim just like this for our Org. Yesterday we did a new packaged collection mission from an old derelict outpost on Microtech. The one that is 40km away from NB. We landed and was just going down the lift when the whole ship just de-spawned. Lol.
Just yesterday I encountered the same thing - ships where I bed logged despawning after I got out of them. This sort of thing always seems to happen when the PTU’s go up unfortunately.
For me personally the availability of Tier2 med-bed is what makes Carrack an ultimate choice for all-round gameplay. There are other ships that can offer similar multi-purpose convenience, just at different scales. But it's still a med-bed which makes Carrack a ship of my dream) I wish we had at least some other affordable alternatives to it.
Another amazing video from Loud Guns. The Carrack has been in my fleet for some time now and hardly ever gets used. Primarily because I played solo. But I'm happy to see this beautiful ship will likely get some love in the future.
Tbf my job is fairly easy - so many people in the community show me really cool tips and tricks and I just try to remember them and fit them into videos 😂
This video is exactly why I'm so looking forward to the 600i rework. Basically all the same benefits, but with big pilot guns instead of a snub hangar!
The 600i rework is just design and art, nothing will be changed, so the Carrack will still be the best ship. Way more cargo, many type of roms, 3d printing, drone section, big crew area. and Hangar
Cant wait to use an 890 as an active battleship. Nova tanks on the pad and p 72s and a pieces tucked in the basketball court with some more pieces and ground vehicles in the cargo bay
I love using the C8 for box missions, small enough to land right on the step to the outpost and going in and out is fast. I have found myself struggling just a bit with motivation with a wipe recently and another coming, just feels bit like whats the point, but guess i wait a while then grind the cash to refit my mole once more and ..
Yeah this is a great time to either enjoy some loops you don’t usually do or make up some sandbox type stuff to do with your mates (or play that other game that’s been hanging around your steam library for years). Roll on 3.18!
We need to start building our own outposts using our ships. If in 3.18 you leave your ship it stays there. So you land ship soft, blow it up until soft death and build a small outpost out of few of them. It could be good if some turrets would remain functional so you could defend from incoming attacks. Building real outposts that persist will take 10 more years.
I was just doing some experimenting this week with the Carrack doing a lot of the same sort of "Load up the ship for long haul" stuff, however I ran into a few issues trying to solo prep the ship with the C8 like every time I spawned the C8 with the Carrack out already, the Carrack would Despawn, or vice versa if I had the C8 out first. I'm jealous you were able to do this without help of others lol. Still, the Carrack is fantastic for bunker running in the chance you get picked off you can just respawn, refit, and rush back down. I do hope that Ship Storage persistence is something that also comes with the 3.18 changes. Losing everything when your ship despawns somewhere you can't pull it out, or you die and respawn somewhere across the map, is a bit of a bummer.
Yeah I’ve recently found the rule of 3 is failing and it’s worked ok for me as long as I limit things to 2 ships at a time. The alternate way around it is to sit my alt in the co-pilot seat at all times on my laptop 😂 Tbf I like showing that these things can technically be done solo but with even 1 mate life gets 10x better!
@@LoudGuns God isn't that the truth. The Game probably will still be fantastic solo, but it has proven time and again that having even one friend to help out makes things 1000X more "Oops" Proof if things don't go absolutely perfect.
@@IM0001 I can be a bit stubborn asking for help making vids and try to get shots on my own, but then after I’ve banged my head against a wall for an hour or so a friend comes along and we get what I needed in 5 mins 😂
This is definitely one of the things I want to do long term, and is why my hangar has several large ships like this. I still have concerns about how well multicrew is going to work though if you are out in the black long term.
Awesome Video thanks you for giving me some fun activities to do with my Carrack - Grind for Military Components, Create a couple of Boxes, Raid some bunkers to populate my armory great stuff!!!
I love my carrack I use the buccaneer instead of the Pisces for the added firepower when I fly solo in the carrack. And the buccaneer is strong enough to do hrt.
I was never interested in the Carrack, even when it was hyped, I couldn't care less about it. Then I won one from the N00bifier, and when I spawned it in game, the moment I stepped onto the bridge, I fell in love. Done a lot of off-gridding myself in that ship, though I mostly used mine to run cargo, occasionally serving as mothership when the org wanted to do bunkers. She's a great ship for those things, and lots of others, because of how much she has packed into that small hull. Really is an excellent ship for people who might be a little ADHD, and like to do lots of different things.
Of all the ships in Star Citizen, this is so close to ASC's mid-bulk Hauler, the Firefly class. I'd love to RP in the game as a medic. I must find some videos on that.
I definitely think the Corsair will be a contender for a more solo nomad experience, being able to bring a ground vehicle, easy access to parts (when that is needed in the future), big guns, easy access to the hull (for salvage repair tool in 3.18), some gun racks, etc.
Yeah the Corsair could be a good one for sure, and at least with that or a Connie you get some guns under pilot control. Still I think it’s probably best as with all things SC to grab at least one mate - particularly since you don’t have the lux of that med bed.
I like how to an extent they even marketed the Carrack as being kind of a bail-from-society-fuck-off ship. It’s specifically designed to be able to stay out in the vastness of space as long as possible with the added bonus of having the best cartography & scanning equipment of any ship in the game except for maybe the Telescope Endeavor.
Yeah I’m really interested to see the Odyssey when that’s available, maybe a bit more comfort and that perpetual motion element with the refuelling. But the scanning’s a big advantage of the carrack based on the current description.
You know I never knew that the cyclone could hold that big container I guess I never really had a use for it. now I know I will def use it more .i appreciate the stream
best vehicle for the Carrack is the ursa, the turret is slaved to the driver and it has an inventory like a small ship. plus you can do combat drops in it, its desighned to and basicaly doesnt tak fall damage once it levels out.
Tbh it was the ship that in 2019 when I started seriously playing I just went “wow” at after walking around one at IAE. For someone who had backed in 2014 and kinda forgotten about the game it was an eye opener!
Pyro is no longer a desolate system. They have mentioned multiple space stations scattered about and outposts on surface of planets. It has changed from a hostile system into another stanton like system with multiple planets and stations to utilize. But I can't wait for my corsair to try similar things to this.
So while Pyro is less desolate than initially flagged it’s still going to contain less infrastructure than Stanton and is going to be 3X the size. Probably the right balance tbf.
The largest impediment to this sort of gameplay is really the PU itself. The real issue is that you CANNOT depend upon the stability of the servers to not cause you to lose all of your preparation AND items. That and the current damage model. Your ship really has at bet 3 very static states. fine, damaged, destroyed and it is still far too easy to go from damaged to completely destroyed. We need deeper gameplay in that regard. That said, when the PU reaches a solid state of stability, this sort of thing will be so satisfying.
Yep it’s something I think I did because I was just looking for something a bit different to do - I’m at a point where losing money or gear is 🤷♂️. Definitely the game isn’t quite ready for this sort of gameplay to make much sense (would be far more efficient to live on a station) but it was so much more satisfying logging in on my ship floating in space or on a moon.
Yeah the money and gear is meh, but the multiple hours you spent obtaining it all and getting it stowed is the real sucky thing to lose when Star Citizen decides to be Star Citizen. The "Persistent Universe" does not have persistence and it's very easy to lose everything.
My 890j is my solo home in the black ship. Terrapin and a P72 for exploration and rescue and a Greycat expedition and ursa for on the ground exploration.
I think for a really long expedition and once all the engineering type gameplay is in you’d probably want to be rocking about 5-6 people on a carrack. Then it would really sing.
@@LoudGuns yes that is also another problem I have the Carrack but don't have the people LOL but would there be people that would just want to go around checking fuses? that don't sound like fun to me just like work for some Maintenace person. as for orgs I've joined your discord but my shift pattens keep stopping me form joining in on a lot and then family stop me the other times , so my lifestyle doesn't fit into some orgs or at least at the min
Very nice I could never save up enough to buy one but I do like living shipboard. Doing it with ships that don’t have a med bay it doesn’t really work because ships despawn to often.
Grind long enough and you can buy any ship in the game. Start out doing mercenary missions, when you get good with weapons do some bunker missions, then branch out and do box missions and then a bit of smuggling from Jumptown and Grim Hex, and you'll be able to afford a Carrack soon enough...
It's funny, I used to think the Carrack would make a really nice solo/multi crew ship... Until I tried it in the last free fly event, It's just too big and unweildy for my purposes I think, that and the whole not being able to shoot anyone in the pilots chair. I did find that the 600i would be great though, what with being able to fly and fire as a solo player, also it's getting a medbay soon too, which would be handy in the long run. Swings and roundabouts as per usual. lol
Thanks for the informative video Loud! One thing to note and I dont know if youve covered this elsewhere but following your advice I landed the Carrack on Clio at the research station, then went to spawn the Pisces which immediately de-spawned the Carrack losing everything I had put in it as I had to reclaim the Carrack? I thought this awful and annoying mechanic was a thing of the past but apparently not! I really do look forward to the day we can use the spawn console in the Carrack to spawn the Pisces into its ship bay!
Thanks! I found recently that when I get 3 vehicles out at the same time one could despawn, with 2 it was fine but I wondered if it’s to do with 3.18 in evo - PTU’s quite often cause issues with servers in live.
Yeah as a survival nut with more hours in Ark than I’d like to admit the appeal of a remote system without the safety net of rest stops every 10m km is huge!
@@LoudGuns DO NOT get me started on Ark, i host my own cluster servers and we are doing a story playthrough atm. getting all the notes etc. but yea id love to have a group of ships based at a random point in space. especially once docking collars work being able to link multiple ships together as well as being able to have personal static markers we can use to jump to specific points in space. in the meantime i spose could use an alt to keep things loaded and to lock onto.
Do guns actually persist in the gun racks now? Last time I played, if you placed a gun on the gun rack of the Cutlass Black for example, if you stored your ship at any location and then recall it, the guns are no longer on the rack.
Don't forget you can land a ship on the close hangar doors of the carrack the pisces is perfect to have on top you can store an m50 inside or another fighter
Great video. Couple of questions if you know the answers. 1) If you were solo for the purposes of this question, what is the range that the Pisces can go away from the Carrack, without having issues? Or was that something more specific to the Merlin and Andromeda? 2) How does bed logging work for other crew mates if they log out in your ship? If you're not online, I guess they just appear back at their home location?
Cheers Ezio - I’ll do my best (Q2 I know for sure / Q1 I’m more sketchy on). 1. As far as I know the ship should not despawn as long as the server stays up and it doesn’t bug out (which absolutely can happen). One thing to remember is that you don’t get a qt beacon for your ship (only for party members) so if you leave it somewhere you may have to navigate back to it manually. 2. If you’re bed logged on a ship that isn’t logged into the server you try to join the game will be unhappy with you. Best case - respawn at your home location. Worst case - infinite loading screen bug. Bed logging on a party members ship is fine and useful during a session (e.g. if you just all want to server hop together because missions aren’t spawning on the one you’re on) but it’s not a good idea to end a session logged out on someone else’s ship. Better to just stop at a station or exit straight to menu (which puts you back where you last set foot on a station or LZ).
You dont just have to take JUST a cyclone or ONLY a roc rover. You can take a roc rover, a cyclone and an ursa rover all at once and get the pisces or even an aurora or fighter in the landing bay.
How do you get it so the ship and crate inventories are shared with friends? Every time I set it all up we all have unique inventory that only we can see and not what the others put in
Yeah I’ve been really enjoying just rocking around on the carrack for the past few weeks when not doing events, and it got me doing stuff I hadn’t done before like some of the more weird and wonderful missions.
Nice video despite being far way in time for real utility. I guess the Odyssey could be even more fitting for this kind of gameplay due to the self refuelling and the larger hangar that could fit a lot of ships. I really like the idea of the 2SCU boxes and how they can be used flexibly I bought a 600i exploration early this year for the same reasons, as a Carrack would be overkill, without a backing org and knowing it will gain a Medbay for sure plus, possibly, snub ship as it was hinted by Jared a few months ago.
You have taught this noob a great deal with your videos, thanks! One question: At about the 6:30 point in this video, you show how to get two boxes by putting several of the cold weather gear into the smaller ship and blowing it up. Are those armor suits now in the boxes, or are they lost? If lost, I guess they cost less aUEC that the two boxes. I am trying to ask fewer questions as I go on, but before I spend the money on the suits, I’m just curious. I just recently got my wallet up to 200K aUEC, and that took about two months of learning the game. (I did buy the Carrack because I love the game and that ship.) Thanks again for all your videos.
Hey mate glad they helped! Yep the suits are in there so you can infinitely recycle them if you want to make multiple boxes (you can actually just buy one suit if you don’t mind just making 1x 2scu box at a time). Ask away - there’s zero shame in asking Q’s.
cant wait to save up the $1100 to buy the carrack exp pack. having to grind after every wipe to regain my carrack is a drag, not having to do that would be amazing!
I believe it should be quite a chunk cheaper that $1100 - you may have been looking at the exploration pack which includes things like the Connie Aquila and Freelancer DUR. Also with ccu chaining you should be able to get a carrack / Pisces a lot cheaper than the list price.
Worth a try for sure! But I love my ground vehicles personally, just need to get over this rule of 3 so I can pack an Cyclone, ROC and Pisces in the carrack!
I’m cruising the verse in my 600i. Heard they might update it to have a med bay but who knows how long that will be. I like the 600i due to having very good weapons that I can control solo. My goal is the 890 jump.
Great video ....1 question what kinda grind did you do am trying to do the same kinda gameplay but cant get to the 26 mil ...thinking of buying with cash but can justify it yet. keep up the great videos
Tbh if it’s pure cash I’m after I mine Quantanium, can always spice it up running bounties. The type of gameplay I do in this vid is a lot less profit driven and a lot more fun driven 😂
Love this video! Keep up the great content. The amount of detail and quality in your game play is crazy good and smooth as hell! Is there a link to the specs of your rig?
every time I try doing this, the carrack bugs (or server crash), and I loose everything.... I have given up on this until there are more stable servers
Interesting that you created 2 2SCU crates. I do the exact, same thing (at the exact, same location) to create a single one. An entire Novikov or Pembroke (undersuit, helmet, backpack) will create a single crate. Therefore I imagine that two complete suits would create two.
So to get 2 you need to put 3 in the inventory. A single box will fit exactly 2 so if you just use 2 it will still create 1 (just with the 2 suits in it). You just need to push it over the threshold to create another one.
@@JasonVanPatten I’d have to go and see the exact volume they take up, considering the 3rd undersuit tips it over the edge there’s a possibility stacking the helmets and backpacks of 2 in would be enough. Undersuits are maybe slightly more efficient though because it’s less individual items to drag.
Agreed with the efficiency side of things, for sure. Less click/drag is a win. I think I already have a complete set stored on SCD-1 on Daymar. If I think of it this weekend, I'll haul another Pembroke down and see what happens.
Follow-up: I did the test today. Two full Pembrokes (suit, helmet, backpack) are *NOT* enough to create a second 2SCU crate. So, for anyone that's read my original post, ignore it. Follow LG's instructions in the video if you want to create a second crate.
Good video! This looked like an interesting option so I tried it out but every time I tried to stuff my Carrack with the Pisces, ROC and Cyclone, the Carrack disappears during loading the second or third vehicle, no matter in which order I try to get them into the Carrack. I don't know if I am the only one experiencing this?
Generally there’s a rule of 3 so you should be able to have a carrack, Pisces and ground vehicle in at once. However just in the last day or 2 (I think it’s tied to a PTU running) this has been breaking when I try and get a 3rd vehicle out.
I'm really interested in doing this myself but everytime I get the urge to do it I remember the insane amount of bugs, glitches and 30ks that the game keeps throwing at us that filling the Carrack with gear for use feels like an exercise in futility, I hope one day the game will finally be stable enough to actually do something like this as it holds a really nice appeal especially when Pyro actually comes to the PU I would love to build a setup like this. Till then tho my dinky aurora is always going to be the cheapest option to do anything currently in game for a solo player even if it doesn't fly straight most of the time you fly it. Would love to be a crew on that ship now till I get one of my own someday :)
@@LoudGuns oh I dont doubt that its fun in fact should the game finally finds a way to stabilize itself it would be the intended loop for it, and I'll be there along with you living it out on a ship and just going to visit stations/cities to refuel and repair. I just dont have the patience right now to actually try it same with grinding uec since it gets wiped every patch along with any ship or gear you purchase with it. My hope is that CIG does release Squadron 42 so they can finally go about the business of fully focusing on Star Citizen and its persistent universe.

I’m really interested to do a head to head between the carrack and the odyssey with this sort of functionally in mind.
That 2 SCU cargo box trick is new to me. Thanks! Going to check out your org's new channel next.
Nice! Yeah the 2scu’s are incredibly useful (if a slight pain to make)!
Gona be nice to head out with a ship like the carrack and live off the grid for some time. exploration for the win
Indeed, that sort of gameplay with a full crew of other people was what got me excited about SC to begin with.
Such an excellent and well made video! I hadn't thought about this style of gameplay and not I want a Carrack.
first vid of yours i've seen and consider me subscribed, plus I'm a big fan of the carrack so a vid like this is right up my street
Perfect! Always glad to see that trying some slightly different things gets new folks in the door!
Yeah I can very much see it being one of my most used ships with a few mates.
Love that tip of the 2SCU box in the back of the Cyclone, great video LoudGuns, thanks!
Way more cargo, many type of roms, 3d printing, drone section, big crew area. and Hangar
@@raf.nogueira Sorry for the late reply but the 600i rework will include a t2 med bed and an elevator capable of holding a tank
Fantastic video. Birthed all kinds of ideas for furture game play
Only thing missing is a garbage box! Gotta have a 1/8th SCU box designated for those empty Cruz bottles, can't just be trashing up your Carrack!
Just throw them out the airlock
Right now that’s what I use the drone room for 😂 Until it has gameplay it’s basically just a big bin!
@@LoudGuns Yeah i do EVE and the long dark and mist survival and 7 days to .. and heck even some Everquest 1 :)
Would love to see more crew things working like lockers and mess soon
The alternate way around it is to sit my alt in the co-pilot seat at all times on my laptop 😂
Tbf I like showing that these things can technically be done solo but with even 1 mate life gets 10x better!
Try landing as far away from the pads as possible while still being on the armistice zone.
This is definitely one of the things I want to do long term, and is why my hangar has several large ships like this. I still have concerns about how well multicrew is going to work though if you are out in the black long term.
Definitely need to see how org tools develop so that friends can continue to operate a ship owned by one person even when they’re offline.
Awesome Video thanks you for giving me some fun activities to do with my Carrack - Grind for Military Components, Create a couple of Boxes, Raid some bunkers to populate my armory great stuff!!!
It was great fun to make, let me know how you get on!
I love my carrack I use the buccaneer instead of the Pisces for the added firepower when I fly solo in the carrack. And the buccaneer is strong enough to do hrt.
Yeah the Bucc can be a beast when kitted out, doesn’t take many hits but it packs a punch!
Ah the Carrack, My pride and joy in the verse
Can’t wait to do this with my BMM!
Never need to go to a station because of trading!
Need fuel? Trade with a starfarer!
Need hotel? Do trivago
The 600i will be an even better option in the future, with its tier 2 med bed and pilot controlled weaponry.
Me and my org will live a nomadic life so this gameplay will be our lives just on a larger scale
This was a great video, first one on your channel I've seen, and I loved it! Subscribe!
Yeah the Ursa’s great - I just found getting the loot box in the back was possible but not comfy!
@@LoudGuns yeah I'm probably more of a solo than most, so that type of thing is less of a problem.
Can't wait to see the BiS grey "basically black" and red trim on this beaut!!
Can’t wait for the carrack and Pisces to finally have matching paints! 😂
For the BIS stuff, when would you have had to own a Carrack to get them? During ship showdown? Or at the time of the paint release?
@@eziop5539 you have until the last day of the IAE.
@@durtyred86 thank you !
Gr8 vid, I use an auras Rover in the garage as it also accommodates the 2Scu boxes.
Yeah the Ursa’s a brilliant vehicle. I found getting the box in a little tedious but other than that it’s really cool.
Interesting concept, while i do like the carrack, i'd go with the 400i for sure if this gameplay will be something to aim for in the future.
Yeah, going to be taking a look at Corsair v Connie v 400i v MSR and will make “home from home” a factor in that.
I love the Carrack, and I'm glad you explored its functions
Yeah the 890 is another solid option with a bit more variation in the ships you can bring, it just feels a little OTT for running bunkers 😂
@@LoudGuns pfft I use my 890J to run box missions!
I’m really looking forward to just living in my Carrack once full persistence is all worked out.
my favorite ship . I use this ship more than any other in the game
yes the idea is a good one and it feels right just need to get the crew. this type of game play is what i would like.
I think a small group could make a Connie work just as well, you just might have to head back to town for a med bed to treat any injuries you get.
Grind long enough and you can buy any ship in the game.
Start out doing mercenary missions, when you get good with weapons do some bunker missions, then branch out and do box missions and then a bit of smuggling from Jumptown and Grim Hex, and you'll be able to afford a Carrack soon enough...
Loved this one ! Great vid, very inspiring 🙏
Thanks 🙏 glad you enjoyed it!
As someone who has been strongly considering buying a Carrack this video is both excellent and poorly timed😅 Nice one Loud!
Haha note I never said anywhere about spending $600 and change on a jpeg 😂 but as ever “you do you”!
Loved the video. You have my subscription! I am looking forward to the Corsair for similar usage.
Swings and roundabouts as per usual. lol
I think I might have to try this with more ships almost as a mini-series. Looking forward to doing the 600i post rework and the Odyssey when it’s out.
3 ships out at a time has been the limit for a while
So keen for pyro for just this reason. Creating my own gameplay in trying to be self sufficient sounds like good fun
@@Gunman_Of_Ruin yeah I quite often use my alt on a laptop as my copilot / QT marker 😂
Waiting on my best in show paint job coming to my carrack.
I am still tempted to CCU up to a BMM from my carrack though when that’s possible.
Man I’m going to be so happy when the Carrack and Pisces have matching paints - it just itches me in the back of the brain that they don’t!
Do guns actually persist in the gun racks now? Last time I played, if you placed a gun on the gun rack of the Cutlass Black for example, if you stored your ship at any location and then recall it, the guns are no longer on the rack.
They do persist now, I keep a decent armory on my carrack now
Don't forget you can land a ship on the close hangar doors of the carrack the pisces is perfect to have on top you can store an m50 inside or another fighter
@@LoudGuns All right, thanks for the replies!
What we need most is NPC crew and/or more ability to automate/slave weapons for a single player.
And the carrack still doesn't have her sensor "quills" or the bridge armor plating.
This is what I'm gonna be doing with my Corsair when it comes out.
Great shout, I will quite probably be doing the same 😆
You dont just have to take JUST a cyclone or ONLY a roc rover. You can take a roc rover, a cyclone and an ursa rover all at once and get the pisces or even an aurora or fighter in the landing bay.
How do you get it so the ship and crate inventories are shared with friends? Every time I set it all up we all have unique inventory that only we can see and not what the others put in
awesome vid man, should do more like it! 👍 👌
Yeah I’ve been really enjoying just rocking around on the carrack for the past few weeks when not doing events, and it got me doing stuff I hadn’t done before like some of the more weird and wonderful missions.
@@LoudGuns Long may it continue 🍻
sick expo on the Carrack!
Thank you for this sir!
Nice video despite being far way in time for real utility. I guess the Odyssey could be even more fitting for this kind of gameplay due to the self refuelling and the larger hangar that could fit a lot of ships. I really like the idea of the 2SCU boxes and how they can be used flexibly
I bought a 600i exploration early this year for the same reasons, as a Carrack would be overkill, without a backing org and knowing it will gain a Medbay for sure plus, possibly, snub ship as it was hinted by Jared a few months ago.
(I did buy the Carrack because I love the game and that ship.)
Thanks again for all your videos.
Hey mate glad they helped! Yep the suits are in there so you can infinitely recycle them if you want to make multiple boxes (you can actually just buy one suit if you don’t mind just making 1x 2scu box at a time). Ask away - there’s zero shame in asking Q’s.
Good ideas! Thanks.
cant wait to save up the $1100 to buy the carrack exp pack. having to grind after every wipe to regain my carrack is a drag, not having to do that would be amazing!
I believe it should be quite a chunk cheaper that $1100 - you may have been looking at the exploration pack which includes things like the Connie Aquila and Freelancer DUR. Also with ccu chaining you should be able to get a carrack / Pisces a lot cheaper than the list price.
Will the Pices fit in the cargo bay? You could take two of them to further your adventures.
Worth a try for sure! But I love my ground vehicles personally, just need to get over this rule of 3 so I can pack an Cyclone, ROC and Pisces in the carrack!
Dont think i didnt notice the higher quaility. Very nice! You're wrong about the attritions though. They look way cooler=are better. Cool vid tho :D
A very good point 😂
I’m cruising the verse in my 600i. Heard they might update it to have a med bay but who knows how long that will be. I like the 600i due to having very good weapons that I can control solo. My goal is the 890 jump.
I’d keep an eye on ISC in the next couple of weeks - they teased the 600i rework in the latest Star Citizen Live and it’s looking pretty damn nice!
This is 100% me... same Carrack paint and all! lol
Haha, that said I’m looking forward to the BIS skins for carrack and Pisces - I want those bad boys to match!
what do you suggest is the best way to grind for ships of this calibre? im in love with the hammerhead but am always way too poor
Absolutely loved this!
lol disposable red shirts. love it
If I can get a Star Trek reference in I will 😆
Coffee for me but thank you I'll watch.
I got myself stuck in one of those suit lockers once with 500k in drugs on board :D
so do you have a composting toilet? also, that ship screems rosinante, and i love it.
@@LoudGuns well I guess I gotta do some mining but thanks for the info ….join the discord also so looking forward to the group fun you guys offer

really enjoyed this video!
Awesome!
Great video, as always.
Thanks mate!
every time I try doing this, the carrack bugs (or server crash), and I loose everything....
Even when you include the helmets and backpacks?
I love my Carrack, it's home.
Do the guns in racks persist through a log-out yet? And what about the 2 SCU boxes?
Indeed, the bugs can just randomly set you back. That said I found this interesting to do just for the fun of it.
