In the series beguinning episode 210, Willie Loomis who came to Collinsport with His friend Jason McGuire, willie is obsessed with the Collins jewels, goes to the Mausauleum and find the secret room, where he sees the chained coffin, thinking its were the jewels are he breaks the chains and opens the coffin and his grabbed by the neck and we see the release of Barnabas Collins. Willie becomes the slave of Barnabas, he returned to Collinwood pretending to be a cousin from england. As the history books recorded that Barnabas went to england in 1795, Joshua decided that he did not want the events of 1795 to be known, so he wrote the history the present family knows
I live in RI, and I've taken a walk on the famous Cliff Walk. It runs between the mansions on Bellevue Ave. and the ocean. I saw the mansion from the back side. I wouldn't be surprised if it is haunted. It looked even more spooky in real life than the TV show. It's got a real spooky vibe to it. A couple of weeks ago, I heard there was a fire there.
I lived in Carey Mansion from 1991 to 1994 when I attended Salve Regina. That was one of the men's dorms. The shot at 39:14 of Carey Mansion I can tell you on the left, top floor to the right of the small turret, was what we called the Bowling Alley. I lived in that room with 6 other guys. At the lower right, with all the big windows, that was the Rec Room. We had pool tables, foosball and would hold our monthly dorm meetings there. What a great experience. And yes, if you're wondering if it's haunted? Absolutely. I've heard and seen stuff that cannot be explained.
The original series was very famous in Brazil in the 70's. The episodes were shown on TV at 10 p.m. every single evening! I didn't miss one. I was a child by then and I remember I used a coconut shell to emitate that firgurehead that opened the secret room at the Collins mausoleum. I had my secret room built with wooden boxes and my figurehead had a ring to open the room like to the original one. I watched all series for more then 3 times. I'm watching them again and I'm on episode 372 now.
The Johnny Depp Tim Burton film was a disrespect to the original series, and i don't think it should have been made into a comedy, that was such a harsh mistake to the memory and legacy of what Dark Shadows was for us diehard devotees of the classic show, that still believe thesre's no rsason to be laughing at something that's not meant to be funny in the first place, NUFF SAID!!!!!
It was such a blatant disrespect to the legacy of Dark Shadows, to make it into a comedy. Dark Shadows was not something to be mocked or laughed at. Even though mistakes ended up going on the air, the show was so scary and i loved it, i'd just seen every episode of it on a streaming site called tubitv.
Well, the beach walk goes right by it, so you can go near it in a way. You can’t go on property though. We had a special invite a few years ago when we made this.
@@gooberweasel30 Hmm, I don’t remember if you can actually see the House well, due to the fencing and foliage around a very big yard, so hard to answer that. I (Nathan) have only been once, just for two nights, and it was a few years ago, so that’s hard to remember. However, the beach walk is nice and there are other mansions you can see. At Christmas time, you can get tickets for tours/parties in some of the (other) mansions. We went to one, and it was awesome!
I think when it went off the air, it was replaced by All my children. I do remember it coming back on the air here and there in syndication. In the early 90's there was a remake, it didn't quite have the same originality as the original. I am currently watching it on Amazon Prime !!

Yeah, heard about that too! Someone starting fires in the basement.

That’s such a great story! Thank you so much for sharing all of your inventive ways of expressing your love for the show! ❤️

It was disaster! Disappointment!

I'd give anything to visit that house in Newport Rhode island to relive my memories of Dark Shadows too, because i'm not getting any younger.
Completely agree.
I was mad at how they did that dreadful film, those people need to be horse whipped, for disrespecting Dark Shadows as they did.
Great video! Well done!
1,224 Episodes on ABC Tv In NYC
Actually it was 1,245 episodes in all of Dark Shadows. All in all it was the greatest soap opera of all time
However, there was one episode missing, that was recreated, by Lara Parker.
Thank you, for all the hearts on my comments I appreciate it.
That's Carolyn Stoddard Collins
Awesome video. Liked. Subbed.

Great video..... Would love to visit Newport myself one day
The Collinwood Mansion looks like the mansion from the Scooby Doo intro
In animated form, it is the Carey Mansion, so cool they worked it into a Saturday morning cartoon intro.
the original is on tubi I believe.
