"David you just tidy up your room and get that sock out of the window". Lol, God bless him and rest his soul. It's nice to see him so relaxed having a wonderful time reminiscing. Thank u for this gem.
This is such a appreciative video of Mr. JOHNATHAN. I watched Dark Shadows when I was 6and 7 yrs old Now I'm watching back to back 24/7 Dark Shadows on Pluto He made the series A very respected man .RIP JOHNATHAN AKA BARNABAS 💙💙
This is lovely! I enjoyed learning about Mr. Frid! When this was filmed, I was about 26 years old, and had just been introduced to Dark Shadows as a re-run on TV! I was hooked, and in love with Barnabas Collins! lol! Thanks so much for sharing this! ~Janet in Canada
I just visited here last year. Right now they have 2 swings hanging at the entrance. It's the same swing Carolyn has in the 2012 DS movie. And right now it is for sale. It is a fixer upper for 29 million.
He was not drunk here in this video tour. With fans that he was comfortable with and that he knew, he called himself or announced himself as either "Barny- Boo", mostly and also as "Barny-Poo", all depending on which kind fans and friends he was with.
@JOANNE D. REMPFER Nope, Frid was not 'drunk'. He was to much of a professional to never show up at an event intoxicated in anyway. He was a social drinker with friends and relatives at social events. He knew his limits.
Dark Shadows would have been even better if Dan Curtis could have used the actual mansion as a sound studio for the show. In any event, he couldn't have found a better mansion to use as a backdrop for the show. We see Jonathan one last time in the film Dark Shadows with Depp. He was one of a kind. As a kid growing up in the late 60's, the mansion, this show and everyone on it, still resonate with me all these years later.
The Carport he talks of was seen in the first episode and a few other early episodes, well before Jonathan Frid joined the DS cast in 4-1967. So he wouldn't have remembered seeing that side of the house.
ohhh never saw this....awesome. been to the house many times on my way to fish cape cod. but to see frid do this is great!!!!!!!!! where the heck did you get this footage????
As the DS entered its final year on tv, sadly we hardly (if ever) saw scenes at the Blue Whale, with its unfailingly convivial owner/head bartender, Bob Rooney. I’ve often thought that old Bob, would have been hip to what was really going on in Collinsport, after schmoozing with Sheriff Paterson, Joe Haskell, Matthew Morgan, Dr. Woodard and many other locals while tending bar at that venerable and popular watering hole. I also got a big kick out of the few times we actually got to hear actor Bob O’Connell speak on the show as Bob Rooney; Mr. O’Connell’s pronounced Queens, NY accent always sounded so out of place in “Down-East” Maine. But, then again, David Selby’s soft, West Virginia accent and KLS’ thick Minnesota accent hardly sounded like Steven King or Brett Somers of the great state of Maine either.
Jonathan Frid’s Barnabus Collins was the greatest vampire of all time . Everybody else falls in behind him. Oh yes from Christopher Lee, Bella Lugosi , Lost Boys , Lestat etc .all great but Barnabus is the best
@@TakersMissy Very powerful performances in DS. He was better than Legosi and Karloff, maybe tied with Vincent Price. Barnabas was someone you did NOT want to cross. He'd kick the shit out of you with those loafers, just sayin'.
@Manny F. Looks like 1984. The building, "Carey Mansion", was a mens dormitory for Salve Regina College at the time. I should know. I lived in it for 4 years. If I recall, in the summer time, the rooms were rented out until school started up again.
A trained Actor with a Genuine Charisma. Unique good looks & Incredible Voice.
Makes me appreciate the late great Mr Frid even more than I did.

Tell him Barnabas. 😊 David was a strange kid. I'm sure the actor was smart and had a good time most of the time. 😅
@@nedraleggett6837 😊💖
I thought he was going to change into a bat and fly up and get it.

I love the "Blue Whale" music in the bkgd when he's on the boat.
I think he is facing "The Black Pearl" restaurant sign , "Namesake" for "The Blue Whale"!!! I was there in 1991
He seemed like a nice man. It would have been nice to meet him. RIP Johnathan, you gave so much. ❤
That was funny when he started chewing out David to get his things out of the window!😆
This is so awesome. Especially that David and Adam bit 🤣
Rest in Peace, Johnathan. Thanks for the memories.

This unique and precious footage was shot by Dark Shadows Festival videographer Guy Haines.
There needs to be a Dark Shadows Museum
Was that The Blue Whale?
Yes, the outside of the Black Pearl restaurant was used as the exterior for the Blue Whale bar on the TV show.
