@tabbycrumch3062 Sure, but Dragonice and Borealis' Mist are already magic damage + frostbite buildup. We didn't need an in-between for Smarag's Glintstone Breath and Borealis' Mist. I don't hate that it exists, but if there's only 1 new breath attack, I would have preferred something a bit more unique.
I think its tiring at this point, the fact that there are so many useless things in the game that can be easily tweaked to be at least decent... Also those silly things like every damn magic straight sword scaling with a fkn C in int... And many more stuff of this kind.
Light of Miquella is now the best snipping tool in the game, you use it on enemies who are really far away or on cliffs / rooftops who are shooting at you, or before you start to fight them, it has gigantic range. You would never use it in a fight same way you would never use Loreta's bow in a fight and it is a better snipping tool than both Loreta's and Frenzied burst as it deals more damage and deals it in an aoe.
@@Someone-fv3ivexactly. Its sorcery equivalent, comet azur, is capable of tremendous damage when lined up correctly. Light of Miquella should be the faith equivalent with outrageous damage due to its high attribute and FP cost along with casting speed
I went up to the enemies at gate front after getting rotten butterflies(because I was so excited that I finally got the pretty incant from the trailer), and it took three casts to proc scarlet rot(because I was knocked out of the animation on my second cast because of the God awful poise) on BASIC enemies. It’s literally the definition of “pretty but useless”💀💀
In my experience its a slightly worse Scarlet Aoenia with different role, but its much better than Aoenia was before they added hyper armour. It comes out substantially faster and even if you get hit like half way through it still does some explosions and decent rot buildup.
For Midra's, no, actually it's pretty bad for PvP, it's effectively a worse version of Unendurable Frenzy with greater FP cost and madness buildup for yourself. Which is a shame for how cool it looks, like so many of these. Honestly it feels like we just get worse versions for several of them. Rugalea is basically just Greyoll's Roar without the debuffs or damage, Spira is just Honed Bolt with worse tracking, Butterflies is Aeonia but even slower, and so on. It's just... strange? Especially given this is all endgame stuff.
Rugalea’s description seems to hint at it being a joke. But a lot of the others are like joke versions too. Also so much skills not having hyper armor. They will hopefully buff them since there is only 28. So buffing them should be easier than all the base game incantations I would think. Just gotta make them stronger versions of a lot of base game spells, instead of worse versions.
Midra’s sun was mid, but it came in clutch in a, albeit very niche, use against the mother of fingers and the first phase of Scadutree Avatar. Sad that one of the coolest spells, alongside rot butterflies, is mid.
i think i've only ever proc'd madness once or twice against phantoms while invading with midras. most of the time they just run up and smack me because of how negligible the effects are and how vulnerable you are casting it. most of the time i just proc madness on myself and burn an entire blue flask. and because howl of shabriri gives you a 30% increase to damage taken you get melted by the new actually effective spam ash of wars and spells
Multilayered rings is insane in my opinion. They stagger bosses relatively quickly and do so much damage. Since they stay you can stack like 3 on top of each other for large bosses and it just continually hits and it has really good range
Yeah, Multilayered rings is the only one I can say can be kind of busted. It stunlocks minor enemies and shreds the HP of bosses who stand in it. It single-handedly won me the fight against the skeleton boss in St. Trina's area.
Light of Miquella is my favourite spell for sure right now - with the best talisman for it, golden erdtree seal with A A scaling and a faith int build, you get over 370+ scaling, which causes it to do insane damage, can one shot any roaming enemy that isn't boss level
It is aesthetically amazing, but still outshined by all the other discus spells in terms of damage. They need to buff the burst damage it does by at least 25%, b ecause there is NO REASON an incantation like that should just be used to “kill far away enemies”. It should decimate bosses, too 😊
VERY happy to see both Fire Serpent and Knight's Lightning Spear getting the respect they deserve here. They're both excellent, ESPECIALLY the latter, provided your FP pool is big enough to sustain it. I don't want to say that, for me, KLS trivialized Mother of Fingers for me; the damn thing still hit like a truck and took me a fair few tries. But when it went down, it went down FAST. I didn't even need spirit ashes either.
Considering how powerful Bayle is in lore, it is so sad to see that they made his incantations mediocre in the damage department. They should both hit a lot harder 😓
@@Someone-fv3iv they dont really lack damage though. Its the cast time, fp cost, and extra spell slot needed that sucks. I also like your timestamps as well to show when the new tier starts. Thanks for your speedy uploads! Can only imagine how long that's taken you 😁👍
It is as if they trade aesthetic for actual power, which is sad. Pest threads is ugly af, but it absolutely shreds everything(while at a considerable distance, too) for a lower amount of fp. On the other hand, Light of Miquella doesn’t do enough burst damage as it should, leaves you suspended in the air for over two seconds, costs a lot of fp, and has a 72 faith requirement 💀
Yeah it's very weird. Cool af weapon from a boss : pretty but very slow AOW with too little damage and boring moveset. A rusty sword dropped from a peasant : incredible customization, incredible moveset and unga bunga gazillion damage if dual wielded. All in visuals, nothing in impact.
I know you JUST did a tier list but I am so excited for the tier list of DLC weapons. So many new things and I wanna know what’s worth my time to test out

Plz do a list of all incantations, so we know where these stand with those of the base game, but wait a couple patches, at least untill the finish big fixing and balancing everything. Oh and thx for the superb work Boss!!
As a PvP player, Midra's flame absolutely sucks compared to the other madness spells. I mean it's basically just a worse Unendurable that constantly misses. The only thing is has going for it is that it scares people who haven't seen it before
Love that the only Dragon Cult incantation is one of the best in the DLC but also wish we got at least one more dragon cult incantation. Flame Lightning from Bayle would go so hard
Miquellas light is the worst. That's the coolest looking spell ever, requires 72 faith, the boss oneshots you with it and it's the last reward in the dlc from the most ridiculous boss of all time and it literally gets out damaged by the holy buttslam
That crucible bloom spell, just confirms for me, that a lot lot of the content in the dlc. Was just cut content from the main game. With some additions... skumnut used a cut spell/consumable called miquellas light or something like that... and that's what it was... the crucible bloom before it was the crucible bloom
They really need to give all incantations that do damage hyper armor. Incants have such a long cast time even with max casting time that you'll often get interrupted.
One thing that Electrocute does is knocks birds down. Which isn't enough to make it a super great spell but I didn't see you mention that and I think it's worth noting if you're sick of birds flying around all of your attacks.
I still think it needs a slight healing buff to be worth the two spell slots and 70 faith requirement, but it does pair beautifully with Blessing of the Erdtree 😁
Scarlet Aeonia is one of the few incantations that take up more than 1 slot I can excuse, mainly because of how cinematic it is. Seeing the new 1 slot butterflies have a much longer animation for a similar radius, the same FP, and a slower casting speed hurts to see. Would've liked to see it have lower FP, a faster cast time, and maybe a smaller radius/different targeting style. A cloud of flies type of thing that does minor tick damage and builds up rot slowly (maybe like 25-30 per tick) for 1/3-1/2 the FP cost I think would've been fine.
When I found Pest-Thread Spears I thought that it may be very good, but not that insanely strong! Amazing video, now that I'm trying to learn every thing and get every item from the DLC, these kind of videos helps me a lot!
Deathknight weapons, armor, and spells make such a crazy lightning build. Lightning was already one of the best damage types but this puts it even higher.
One thing I've done with Electrocharge is that it works extremely well for aggrotanking. If you use Shabriri's Woe and Electrocharge as a phantom, you're guaranteed to keep aggro as long as you're next to the boss. Did this to help a friend with Commander Gaius to great effect.
There is one positive to electrocharge, it continuously draws agro to its user. Stick it on a mimic and rot breath bosses in the rear. Before you say shabriri's woe or howl, they just increase agro range.
Faith always gets the cooler spells but they have less functionality while intelligence gets the same energy attacks basically but they’re usually always at least usable.
Another little bonus for knights lightning spear, if you get knocked out of the cast mid animation but with the surrounding spears summoned, those spears will stay and still fire off
Light of Miquella looked like it did good damage in your gameplay. I have yet to use it but nearly 2k damage on Malenia for something you can use from a distance is crazy. She also has good holy resistance.
This thing has ridiculous range. This spell is mainly for mobbing as opposed to boss damage but in the over world it’s practically an airs strike 3000 holy damage at max range for spells is very good especially since it has a big aoe. Look at a group of enemies from max lock on distance and remove them from the game.
from soft has a really weird talent of making a *shit ton* of bad weapons/spells/incantations and then just do nothing about it i wonder what the point of it is. buff this stuff lol
Once you get to the weaoons tier list you gotta consider the new Black Steel Greathammer in a S tier spot. It reaches crazy AR (like 1000) at 80 Faith with a Flame Art infusion. And that AR isn't just for show, as I was out-damaging the GUTS Greatsword (with max Strength) by around 300 damage points when using Lion's. It seems like such a sleeper pick and one of the best new weapons in the DLC overall, and the best new Faith weapon.
The only good thing about these spells is giving modders new tools to play with. I can't wait to see the Convergence changes once they update the mod for the DLC.
@@HDGaminTutorials No they need damage buffs lmao. These incants are doing garbage damage for the work and point in the game you're getting them. Shadow of the Erdtree is an endgame DLC. This is the Ringed City. Why are we getting garbage spells/incants from a DLC this hard?
Considering the asshole fire mage who used it in the Shadow Keep burned me alive like twice through a fire-protection talisman + fire resist incant, it really should've been more powerful
Giant golden arc is really good at putting on pressure in pvp. The slow travel speed allows you to cast one or two and then run at the player along with them for a really strong advantage. It also is just good to spam in neutral.
This dlc has honestly been pretty mid. No, I’m not bitching about the difficulty. What it adds just is t very exciting. Most of the incantations suck. Most of the sorceries suck. Most of the boss weapons suck. The story isn’t anything spectacular. Navigating the map is ASININE! “Oh you want to get to that 25% of the map? Well, you need to find the hole in the ground, go through this tunnel, then take a left, not a right, then go to another hole in the ground.” The main thing it has going for it is it added a lot of cool armor sets. That’s it. It also added a bunch of literal broken bullshit. So PvP is pretty much unplayable until a wave of nerfs gets released.
You missed a small detail about Bayle's Flame Lightning, you csn skip some of the recovery animation by doing another incantation. So you can combo Flame Lightning into Catch Flame or Theodorix's Magma for example. Good video anyway!

Scarlet Butterflies is S tier for me, because it's pink and it's pretty.
That’s all that matters 💅🏻💅🏻
Scarlet Butterflies is for the girls, gays and theys 💅
The only use I found for Electrocharge is against Abductor Virgins. It pretty much stunlocks them because they're so weak to lightning damage.
It also looks cool but yea it's basically useless, what would have been cool is a scarlet rot aura that follows you and slowly builds up a status with like a similar damage tick

Who’s idea was it that miquella’s orbital lazer should deal less damage than random dungeon lightning
Great question. It really should be hitting those 5k or 7k damage tbh. It's lackluster as the final DLC boss spell.
Its insane that they make the incantations with the highest requirements, the weakests for damage
IKR! It genuinely makes no sense 😭😭
Thank you! As a faith main going through my first dlc playthru its reassuring knowing that im not crazy and that From totally dropped the ball on incantations this time around.

For a company that puts so much time into quality, it baffles me how bad some of their scaling/balancing is. Some of it is outright stupid 💀💀
There is NO REASON that pest-thread spears should outclass light of miquella, but guess what, they do 😭😭
@@Someone-fv3ivtested this on max stats and it does. A full shame
It still needs a buff. Considering it’s the incantation of a literal God, it should hit harder than nearly every incantation in the game…
No, the best snipping tool in the game is the Golden Tailoring Tools.
@@Someone-fv3ivexactly. Its sorcery equivalent, comet azur, is capable of tremendous damage when lined up correctly. Light of Miquella should be the faith equivalent with outrageous damage due to its high attribute and FP cost along with casting speed

Yeah doubt that
“It consumes as much Fp and has the same charge time as Scarlet Aoenia but doesn’t proc rot”
Oh no.
I've never been more disappointed
@@Wesley76515 I felt betrayed when I got the incantation and was so disappointed by it haha
Makes sense lore wise
Exactly this. Nanaya’s torch is literally just better at building up madness. The damn torch with FEEBLE lord’s frenzied flame on it lmao.
i am WAITING, PRAYING for the next patch update to come with a bunch of buffs
Just spent 28 minutes listening to you say that every incantation is “pretty much useless” 😂 good to know

Multilayered rings is insane in my opinion. They stagger bosses relatively quickly and do so much damage. Since they stay you can stack like 3 on top of each other for large bosses and it just continually hits and it has really good range
facts my brotha
Yeah, Multilayered rings is the only one I can say can be kind of busted. It stunlocks minor enemies and shreds the HP of bosses who stand in it. It single-handedly won me the fight against the skeleton boss in St. Trina's area.
how are you stacking rings? I cant even cast it fast enough to have 2 out at a time. and thats with beloved stardust
@@troublesomeflame9036 nah pest thread spears is also busted, at least against large bosses. If you can get under them it will actually melt
This has got to be addressed in the post launch balance patch. Most of the DLC spells being garbage is just unforgivable
Imagine for Bayle, we got a "Flame Lighting Spear" or something, along with the dragon communion stuff.
Yeah dragon cult incantations could've gotten so more love.
Considering how powerful Bayle is in lore, it is so sad to see that they made his incantations mediocre in the damage department. They should both hit a lot harder 😓
@@Someone-fv3iv they dont really lack damage though. Its the cast time, fp cost, and extra spell slot needed that sucks. electrocharge sounds insanely good if it resets the posture countdown for bosses it means you can keep the stagger damage youve done to enemies for longer which is very good for some boss fights

This guy's channel owns. Crazy to go to this level of detail/scrutiny when the DLC's just arrived.
i hate that the coolest spells and weapons are always shit
Messmer's Spear is cool and does good damage
@@Rubenz343 The heavy attack is shit, the aow is only good in pvp and low poise enemies so it's just another fire spear with no customization.

Agreed. I kinda wish we got Bayle's Flame Lightning breath or a Lightning Stake variant similar to DS3's.
Miquellas light is the worst. That's the coolest looking spell ever, requires 72 faith, the boss oneshots you with it and it's the last reward in the dlc from the most ridiculous boss of all time and it literally gets out damaged by the holy buttslam
Radagon explosive lightspears/stump?Morgott Holy Hammer/Dagger/spear rain? No, they gave us borderline useless incantations 😭
That crucible bloom spell, just confirms for me, that a lot lot of the content in the dlc. Was just cut content from the main game. With some additions... skumnut used a cut spell/consumable called miquellas light or something like that... and that's what it was... the crucible bloom before it was the crucible bloom
Don’t forget about euphoria twin blade
They really need to give all incantations that do damage hyper armor. Incants have such a long cast time even with max casting time that you'll often get interrupted.
One thing that Electrocute does is knocks birds down. Which isn't enough to make it a super great spell but I didn't see you mention that and I think it's worth noting if you're sick of birds flying around all of your attacks.
Bro you are hilarious 😂😂 didn't expect these descriptions haha
There's so much in this DLC that just baffles me that it was greenlit
I like how you gave an alternative. Good video
Minor erd tree is sooo good, in a heal over time heavy build using dual wield red star weapons. love it
I still think it needs a slight healing buff to be worth the two spell slots and 70 faith requirement, but it does pair beautifully with Blessing of the Erdtree 😁
Hyper armor after the dive on Messmers orb would be great. Doesn’t even need to be on startup but having no hyper armor for the dive is weird
I still think that Scarlet Aeonia either A) needs a few more buffs, or B) needs to have its 3 memory slot requirement bumped down to 2 🥲
Another great guide/video!!! Thanks man!!!
When I found Pest-Thread Spears I thought that it may be very good, but not that insanely strong! Amazing video, now that I'm trying to learn every thing and get every item from the DLC, these kind of videos helps me a lot!
The fact that the best incants and spells we got from this DLC are just upgraded versions of existing ones is extremely disappointing.

Deathknight weapons, armor, and spells make such a crazy lightning build. Lightning was already one of the best damage types but this puts it even higher.
I hope they buff most of these spells, because the requirements to use them are insanely high.

One thing I've done with Electrocharge is that it works extremely well for aggrotanking. If you use Shabriri's Woe and Electrocharge as a phantom, you're guaranteed to keep aggro as long as you're next to the boss. Did this to help a friend with Commander Gaius to great effect.
There’s something so satisfying about hearing your accent call an incantation doo doo trash
There is one positive to electrocharge, it continuously draws agro to its user. Stick it on a mimic and rot breath bosses in the rear. Before you say shabriri's woe or howl, they just increase agro range.

Another little bonus for knights lightning spear, if you get knocked out of the cast mid animation but with the surrounding spears summoned, those spears will stay and still fire off

Once you get to the weaoons tier list you gotta consider the new Black Steel Greathammer in a S tier spot. It reaches crazy AR (like 1000) at 80 Faith with a Flame Art infusion.
Well, you need to find the hole in the ground, go through this tunnel, then take a left, not a right, then go to another hole in the ground.”
The main thing it has going for it is it added a lot of cool armor sets. That’s it. It also added a bunch of literal broken bullshit. So PvP is pretty much unplayable until a wave of nerfs gets released.
I really hope that most of the spells and incantations get a buff, did fromsoft forget these are located in an difficult endgame dlc

It annoys me that most of the good incantations or even just most incantations are just endgame in far places
You missed a small detail about Bayle's Flame Lightning, you csn skip some of the recovery animation by doing another incantation. So you can combo Flame Lightning into Catch Flame or Theodorix's Magma for example. Good video anyway!
