Homemade Pastina - Cooking With Janet Bari

  • Hi Everyone!
    Today I would like to share with you my Pastina For Babies and Fried Pastina Appetizers. I have included the recipe instructions below.
    Recipe
    4 cups water
    1 1/12 cups Pastina
    1 teaspoon kosher salt
    3 tablespoons unsalted butter
    2-3 eggs
    You may also include
    1/2 cup of minced Roasted vegetables or
    1/2 cup shredded mozzarella

    I love the idea of using the square muffin pan. I would eat these as is out of the fridge or room temp.

    We always had it with butter and Parmesan, eggs were optional, I personally LOVE the unctuous nature of the egg addition 🙏🏻
    The GOOD kind of unctuous.
    Creamier and richer

    You can't find pastina anymore thanks to Ronzonni..Barilla is charging $18 a pound for pastina in NY. ...if you can find it.
