    My mother passed away last December..she would not eat very much towards the end...but loved it when I made her Pastina...it was the only thing she would eat. Miss her..reminds me of my childhood as well..😢

    Great episode. Thank you and thank you for no Italian accents or foolishness. I find those insulting after awhile. Your recipes and episodes are excellent and professional. Glad I found your channel. James. I’m 100% Italian and proud of my heritage. Thank you again.

    This a brand new dish for me. Good to make in a cold day comfort food. I love it when you finished it with egg, butter , olive oil.

    Never heard of Pastina until I met my Italian husband. It has been a staple in our house for 40 years. The only thing we eat when sick or after any medical procedure or surgery. It was our three children's first food and grand children's first food. 😊 Sorry to hear about your mom. Hope she gets well soon. Pastina smells like love and home 😉

    She was Italian and this was her medicine for me and my sister. 🥰🙏💕

    Prayers for your mother. My wife always has me make her pastina when she is sick. Either make it with butter and parmesan or chicken stock with carrots like a soup. We cant find it in Texas so we have her mother bring it from Florida when she visits.

    Ginger ale and saltines when you were sick as a kid made me laugh; I grew up in the same way, but we're not Italians. Did you mean 1 quart stock to 1 cup pastina? You said 1 cup each. This looks really good and am sure it smells delicious. I need a bowl of this now, I have a serious head cold!

    • @godfatherbbqitalian

    Definitely will need to try this. Looks so simple and good. Question: is it a no no to make this with some kind of protein? I.E. served over chicken or shrimp maybe? Have you made it with meat before?

    • @godfatherbbqitalian
      @godfatherbbqitalian  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely, a lot of people do it with meatballs or sausage, sliced up or what have you. Thanks again!

      Yes, that’s the way I make it but if you like thicker, you can use the less broth.
      you can always add but you can’t take away.

    Made this last night for dinner and your spot on. It’s so simple but was so delicious! Only thing different I did was added that better than bouillon paste in the boil, and cooked up some chicken thighs to throw in. I’ll be making this again for sure

    • @godfatherbbqitalian
      @godfatherbbqitalian  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I do use that bouillon base a lot as well. It’s actually very good. And, Pastina is a blank canvas as far as what you canto add to it. I like it with little meatballs occasionally too lol. So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks again!

    • @godfatherbbqitalian
      @godfatherbbqitalian  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sounds good, but I would chop it very very small. Pastina is such a small pasta. You don’t want to have big pieces of chicken and small tiny pasta, unless you like that!
      Thanks again!
