- ⛵ Hello sailors, were Faye and Rob, two newlyweds from Newcastle. Join us onboard Reach Out, our Catalina 400 sailboat as we sail around the UK with our Welsh terrier, Captain Yewy. 🐶
👀 In this week's episode we leave Arbroath for Eyemouth, but unfortunately, due to the spring tide, we didn't have enough depth to get into the harbour and had to anchor in the bay.
☀️It was a sunny but rolly sail after the high winds the previous day and our uncomfortable sail turned into a uncomfortable night.

Funnily enough on the west coast where we don't have any offshore wind farms we don't see dead gulls floating around.
There are quite a few offshore wind farms in the Irish Sea. We didn’t see anywhere near as many dead birds there though. When we looked into it, avian flu was apparently the cause.
You two deserve more subscribers 👍 I am in 10 days bringing my Bavaria 36 from Milford haven to fleetwood and looking forward to a good weather window for a few days.
Thank you very much for the feedback! That has the potential to be a fabulous sail, hope you get the conditions you’re hoping for 🤞
might be worthwhile triangulating ure anchor , pay out 75% of ure intended scope, attatch a long line to the chain at that point, pay out the remainder and slowly motor the bow above your anchor chain into the swell and take the line aft to a cleat antd secure . it does allow a good sleep.😉
Thank you for taking the time to help us with our anchoring! We have had a look at the method you describe and this is the kind of thing that we’d really like to give ago next season; also on the list has to be the bloody spinnaker and whisker pole!
Glad I was not on board . Did not look fun. Enjoying your videos.
