would have been nice to see you turn the blocks the other way and then shoot the clear block with the older bullet, just so we could see the damage better
The Trophy Bonded was originally developed by Jack Carter in early 80's. He used to have a booth at SCI. I used those bullets in my .243, .300 WM and .375 and the accuracy was superb in both custom rifles The South African PHs were shocked by its accuracy even with the .243 out to 400 measured meters. Then they would weigh the projectiles and naturally it would be in the high 90% retention. I continue to use Trophy Bonded only for the .300 Win Mag.
I would likely lean towards the Trophy bonded Tipped based on the data recovered here. If I we could have recovered the Terminal Ascent to compare it might change my mind. But you are likely accurate that both are excellent options so long as they are consistently accurate. Thank you.
They both do what they was made to do killed deer with 200gr in 300wsm at 75 to 80 yards DOA and the 180gr TBT in 308 at 50yds ran 30yds n also the 140gr TBT in 7wsm at 125ish yds broke both shoulders they the 2 best bullets in the game to me just hope federal doesn't stop making the TBT and wish I could find either in 270wsm
The extra 20 grains of the Terminal Ascent probably explains the 3+ inches of penetration. The extra velocity of the TBT probably explains the extra energy transfer in the first block. If you need the extra range, the Terminal Ascent might be a little better because of the better BC, but the TBT will get the job done at any reasonable range.
@@armus6748 a lot of the forums have people stating that they get over 2900 out of those, I have yet to see anyone state that they where even in the 2800 fps range
Trophy Bonded Tip is the refinement of the original Trophy Bonded bullet design. Awesome!!!
Finally someone doing test not out of the muzzle 🍺 can you do more sir at 150 to 200 yards or more even ?
Put a line of milk jugs filled with water on the back of your two blocks of ballistic gel.
Great idea, thanks for sharing!

I agree, awesome round! Thank you for watching and sharing.
Hello, I really enjoy your videos and the way you do your videos, thanks 👊🏻🇺🇸
Different grain weights different velocities… both would do the job 😊

Makes sense, thank you for sharing!
I really can't tell a difference between the 2 on game
I'd go with the trophy bonded tip it went though wood and still made it that far .
Maybe you should have compared the 175 gr terminal ascent to the 180 gr trophy bonded tip. Results might be different.
Yep I agree both these bullets so tuff I like velocity over weight the 140 TBT does better than the 160 TBT on deer to me
TBT all the way.
Nice video
🖐🤠👍
What was the velocity of the 200gr
Unfortunately, my chronograph was malfunctioning that day but the advertised MV is 2810. Sorry about the inconvenience.
