I'm still quite new as I've just beaten the game yesterday but the shotgun upgrade with Poseidon strike is pretty nasty. I kept getting the Plume speed upgrade every single encounter since I got the combo.
When you go from "I literally can't imagine successfully beating her" to "if I don't smite this fury in less than thirty seconds I'm going to call myself a failure" 😂
First run: "Man, Meg is so tough, idk that I'll ever make it out of Tartarus..." 40 hours and 5000 darkness later: * bullying Meg by knocking her into her own spike traps *
I... Actually managed to kill her the first time I encountered her, clearly having both luck and gods on my side on this one. I felt so overjoyed, then... Well, Asphodel. Emotional roller-coaster am I right?

I had a perfect run with Exagryph, but got reckless on a Thanatos challenge in Elysium. Couldn't bring it back enough to kill Hades and died in the 2nd phase. "Screw it, I'm gonna try the shield." _beats Hades_ "huh..."

Same. I had that experience. The thrill of the song and the fight itself was a perfect combination. It's like this song is literally meant to be this specific boss fight's theme. Seriously though, it was easily my favourite moment from this game so far by a landslide. Edit: It was specifically at 4:04 that I had the thrill, but I do know what you mean.

I absolutely love the Greek / Middle-Eastern vibes of this game's soundtrack, in particular of this track. I've always been a huge fan of Darren Korb's melding of styles into a cohesive tone that permeates the whole game and gives it not only a flair, but an identity of its own. It happened to me with Bastion and Transistor, with which I became instantly infatuated, and this game promises to deliver an equally immersive experience. Keep the good work, you rock!

The music intruments are byzantine in origin therefore greek. The ottomans were influenced and adopted many byzantine themes music architecture and state goverment. Just like romans did with ancient greece. Turkey is a mongol origin and has nothing to do with western civilization. Bouzouki and baglamas originated from constantinoples lavta. Its not turkish. Anatolia even has many ancient greek and byzantine momuments.
Megaera just gives me this "tranquil fury" vibe. Like, she acts so calm and collected almost all the time, but you can tell she's excited, simmering with glee under the surface at getting to fight a worthy opponent like Zagreus. You can see glimpses of it when she really comes at you, like her fireball nova: "*HRAAAAGGGHH!!*"

I love Meg as a character and that love came to light not from the beginning. That click for her character for me was when she told Zag that it insults her that after killing her he doesn’t even stop to gloat his victory. He just moves on as if it’s a routine. Eventually fighting Meg even with extreme measures becomes a routine and that hurts her a lot more than if zag was to rub it in her face. Love this girl.
At some point she'll suggest the only reason you can beat her is with the help of the Olympians and Nyx's mirror, and if you beat her afterwards with 0 upgrades she'll get super upset and just ask if you take pleasure in wiping the floor with her every run. Was a bit of a gut punch ngl :/

The fact that they are dropping early ost's already makes me a believer in this company, I look forward to investing and playing this title. This company is heavily underrated to say the least; especially when it pertains to indie games.
Supergiant is the best indie studio in gaming IMO. Their team is tiny and they still have top tier art, gameplay, soundtracks, and writing in every single game they put out. Not to mention their games are always heavily polished and have very few bugs. Their talent is astounding.

From the looks of it, the game's story looks pretty tragic. When Hades says "no one can ever leave my realm" I'm pretty sure that includes himself. The story is essentially a son abandoning his father and eclipsing him. That's bitter and twisted. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it...

Darren, you gosh darn genius, you. How do you make so many different, incredibly high-quality soundtrack yet still keep them all in 'your style'? How do you do that? It's like the once-in-a-career move when a band switches their genre or sound, but you've done it 4 times already.
There's a specific mode I get into while playing this game: Enter room Dash around enemies Focus Lose sight of everything except the enemies Start ripping through them and dodging their attacks And then notice how the music is hyping you up Get into a rythm of dodging, killing and vibing with the music. I just love it man

A close friend of mine very recently bought this game for me in exchange for art, I’ve been playing it nonstop. Just yesterday I managed to reach, but not defeat, the final boss for the first time. I can confidently say that my relationship with Megaera never quite left the “OH GOD OH SHIT OH GOD OH SHIT” phase as many people claim to have done
Not gonna lie this is by far my favorite song on the soundtrack! Though I haven't heard all of it I like how it keeps changing yet still keeping it's original sound! This whole soundtrack is amazing though so thank you to the creator of these fine tracks for the amazing experience!

Funny thing is that the main instrument is the Turkish bağlama. Well it got affected by Arabesque in the past but the instrument is of Turkish origin.

Darren, you gosh darn genius, you. How do you make so many different, incredibly high-quality soundtrack yet still keep them all in 'your style'? How do you do that? It's like the once-in-a-career move when a band switches their genre or sound, but you've done it 4 times already.
There's a specific mode I get into while playing this game:
Enter room
Dash around enemies
Focus
Lose sight of everything except the enemies
Start ripping through them and dodging their attacks
And then notice how the music is hyping you up
Get into a rythm of dodging, killing and vibing with the music.

I love this game sooo much! Haven't finished yet but I love how OP you can feel on one run through the Underworld and think you're invincible. And the next - you realise you are about as strong as an anchovy bc you switched weapons and you're favourite boons aren't appearing.

A close friend of mine very recently bought this game for me in exchange for art, I’ve been playing it nonstop. Just yesterday I managed to reach, but not defeat, the final boss for the first time.
I can confidently say that my relationship with Megaera never quite left the “OH GOD OH SHIT OH GOD OH SHIT” phase as many people claim to have done
Don't forget to Hug your Dad to win the game. (When he uses his multiple beam attacks, you can get right up on him and it won't deal damage to you.

Not gonna lie this is by far my favorite song on the soundtrack! Though I haven't heard all of it I like how it keeps changing yet still keeping it's original sound! This whole soundtrack is amazing though so thank you to the creator of these fine tracks for the amazing experience!
