Still remember when Amanda was a member of Regina Spektor's fan forum and would promote her band Dresden Dolls on there. That was like 15 years ago.
I saw Dresden Dolls live several times. :D
I miss Dresden Dolls. She made a post recently about possibly doing another Dresden Dolls music project. It made me so happy.

I only got "back" to Amanda about four weeks ago when I saw her in an hour-long interview with Brian W. Foster, and then I saw that she was performing pretty close to where I live and immediately got the ticket. I expected some good music and interesting, wise words. What I DIDN'T expect was a genuine, thoroughly honest soul striptease that connected to me on a level that I normally hide deep, deeeeeeeeeeep down, away from myself and everybody else. It was the second time I really felt not joy, but hurt during a concert, and it was one of the best experiences of my entire life because it was so damn cathartic. I won't say this will be the same for every single person, and I am quite sure some people even hate what Amanda does. But I personally cherish what she does: Put everything and more into her art and taking you to dark places where people usually don't wanna go, but it's okay now because somebody is with you. Beautiful. And as a bonus SHE'S DAMN FUCKIN' FUNNY! :)

The piano is her anger . Perfect
The way Amanda plays her instrument, it really deserves its full name of pianoforte. Incredibly dynamic performance, such a welcome relief from a world awash with overly quantised and compressed commodity music.

When she sang into the piano to have the strings sympathetically vibrate I got chills
About "Drowning in the sound". Dear, Amanda, what can I say? So good that almost hurts inside. Like a powerful emotional moment that kept us disconnected from the world outside! Cheers from the country that was once all happiness!
Amanda is my favorite artist in any area because she is so honest and sensitive and brave. And of course so goddanm talanted
I bought tickets for her show in Portland a couple years ago, and ended up not being able to go. Still on my bucket list of performers to see live!

I went through over half a dozen thoughts attempting to express what Amanda Palmer's sharing does to me. None of them are adequate. She's such a powerful sharer of emotive expression that you can't help but to be it by what she shares. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I used to dislike Amanda a lot, but I grew and so did my opinions, and now I see that she is just a really genuine person living out her genuine life and that is very touching and beautiful. Also her speaking voice is a delight in this video, I almost prefer it to the actual songs oops ♥

I think I'll be buying There Will Be No Intermission because of this video, which surprises me. I've loved your writing, you as a person (what I know of you, & you make yourself known), & your lyrics since the last millennia, but loving your music has come like someone who was in an arranged marriage about thirty years ago & has now fallen in love with the person they married.
I watch and/or listen to every performance of this song I can find. I've been a fan since the early Dresden Dolls days, and this is, hands down, my favorite Amanda Palmer song yet.

@divina6 It's easy to judge where funds go. But, the people donating on Patreon aren't the ones with the ridiculous amounts of money. They're not the ones who could fix the problems, and still have more than 80% of the population. I think you should keep that in mind. The people of small means are not the ones who need to fix these problems.

As a musician, I would disagree with what you said from a technical perspective. Intentional imprecision is a well known approach to making music, especially in this era of quantized beats and autotuned vocals. If it's just a style that doesn't work for you, I get that.
Totally agree! This woman is what's wrong with the current time we live in . Can't stand her arrogance, getting her nose in politics, talking about her sexuality endlessly, and she is very unattractive.
