    Hi. I have brother LX27NT sewing machine, which I love working with. Can you please tell the name of big beading foot? Like foot J, used as regular seeing foot & Zig-zag foot in brother machine I have 3mm beading foot. But didn't get this big beading foot for past 5 yrs. I just love to sew big pearl string at the edge of Saree pallu and on my daughter's dresses. I will be eagerly waiting for your reply. Tq.😊

    How can you turn a corner when you sew with the bead foot? I have tried to add the bids at the edge of my project (4edges) and am able to only sew them on a straight line, it does not allow me to turn at the corners. Am I doing something wrong?

      It can be a challenge. I've had a lot of people ask about corners so I probably need to put together a video.

    How do you finish off the edges. How do you sew the pieces together wont you risk hitting the beads with your needle when you "put right sides together". I understand how to use the foot. I want to know how to finish the end of the beads. Do you stop just before the seam allowance??? Thank you.

    • @LetsLearnToSew
      @LetsLearnToSew  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The beads go on last in most cases so the seams are already joined. For the few cases where you need to join the seam, yes, just stop short and leave a few extra beads pulled back out of the way. Once the seam is done go back and hand stitch those down.

      Because the stitch goes back and forth, you don't really have to.

      I don't see why not. I'd try it on some scrap fabric first to be sure.

    I have used a beading foot for the first time today and it didn't turn out well ☹️ the store I bought it from assured me that it is the correct size for the beads but the just don't seem to want to feed through when on the machine. The beads fit into the Chanel but seem to be bit too deep for the foot. It's all mm so I can't really tell for sure by looking, is there a way to check? I'm just not sure how "snug" it should be with the beads on both axis. Does that make sense? And can anyone help? Thanks in advance

    • @LetsLearnToSew
      @LetsLearnToSew  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, what you described makes sense. You don't want the beads to fit too snugly or that will create resistance. There are several sizes of beading feet and you use the one that matches the size range for the beads. The foot should cradle the beads. Did you purchase the foot from a shop where they can demo it for you with your beads?
      Using the foot does take practice. You said it didn't turn out well, what exactly happened?

    • @baz80s18
      @baz80s18 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LetsLearnToSew thank you for replying, I bought the foot from a store on eBay that has been really good in the past for helping me get the right tool for the job. So I trust them, but I think they may have just got it wrong this time. I put the beads on the fabric as you demonstrate and I did one pass with the machine wheel (no obvious problem) I did a few stitches by rasing and lowering the needle (seems snug, but working) them when I press the peddle it starts feeding, one or two beads in the beads seem to skip a feed and so I apply slight pressure to get the bead through, again one or two beads go, then it seems to feed too much and pulls the beads apart. (I hope that makes sense?). I have been using what I was told was 4mm beads and a 4mm foot, so now I am going to order 3mm beads and see if that's any more successful. I know practice makes perfect so I'll keep trying to figure out what's going on.

    When you cut the thread that's on the beads, won't the first one fall right off?

      No, because the beads are pre-strung.
